R/R: I got a + OPK this AM, I have EWCM for days, and my first acupuncture session is today so yay! Feeling good juju vibes.

GTKY: Let's talk finances. Do you work on a monthly budget, use a program to track finances? Are you saving up for something special right now? Feel free to share as much or as little as you want.

We work on a semi-budget. We put money into our 401ks, a short-term savings account and stocks every single month before anything else. We have about 6 months worth of living expenses saved up, with the goal of having 1 years worth in the next year. We also max out our IRAs every year. We do take out of our ST-savings sometimes for house stuff, but thats the purpose of it. We make a $1600 payment each month to my student loans (BAHAHAHA and it barely makes a dent). On the first of the month we make our mortgage payment, electric, water and cars. After that, any money left over we don't budget (which is why its a semi-budget). We buy what we want, when we want- within reason. Some months we end up with quite a bit of money left over in our checking account, some months we over-spend because of vacations or dates or whatever, but overall it evens out. We are very lucky to do well financially and have minimal monetary stress, but we try to make smart decisions in case anything ever happened.

WAYDTGKU: just waiting right now. Still taking my pnv

R/R:  My rant today is about my MIL. I can't. Every time she talks to my husband anymore she mentions daycare. We have NO OTHER CHOICE. Just stop. It's none of your business what we do with our child while we work. NONE. Any other day I'm ok with it. Do I wish I could be a SAHM? Of course, but it just wouldn't work for us. So instead I go to work knowing I can build a savings account for all of us and I make myself feel better that way.   I got upset last night that once again he told me she brought it up, but  I'm overreacting apparently. So I hate my husband today too

GTKY: Let's talk finances. Do you work on a monthly budget, use a program to track finances? Are you saving up for something special right now? Feel free to share as much or as little as you want.
i move money into savings randomly. Right now we're saving for a house. So most of my bonus went, our tax refund will go into savings but we don't have a monthly budget. We aren't necessarily living paycheck to paycheck, but I also don't just go and spend whatever I want.
If we have some extra money left right before we get another paycheck I'll move some into our savings and some into our son's account.
That sounds crappy written out but it works. We have a savings account!

R/R: We had a spectacularly crazy dinner for H's birthday last night with his divorced parents. It would swing from them picking at each other to her telling him he should retire so the can go travel. It was nuts.

    CS/Q: Nope

GTKY: I might come back and add more later but for now, yes we budget. I run the finances and I put together a budget based on a reliable income level. I'm salaried but H isn't. It's more detailed than most with categories for car repairs, insurance, house maintenance, etc. I use an envelope-style budgeting app called "Goodbudget." When H bought his house in 2007, they talked him into an 80/20 loan where 20% is at a higher interest rate. 8.7% for 20% of a house!!! So that has been our focus for the last few years. We finally got that paid off so the new focus is killing my student loans (his are already paid off). So pretty much all of my profit share, bonuses, tax returns, and pay he makes in a month above the budget goes to that. We should be done in about 6 months. Then we can save up to remodel our super dated house!

We sort of budget. We have a budget, but I'm too much of a procrastinator to actually track it through out the month. We used to go over the budget all the time so I looked over the past months to see what was going on. Turned out that we were going way over on our personal spending. Now we each get a cash allowance for the month. This helps a lot since most of the other bills are consistent (mortgage, student loan, car loan, etc). Right now we're trying to pay off DH's car loan. We should be able to pay it off in the next couple months which would be a little under 2 years early!

R/R: Performance issues continue. We're going to try again today since it's the last day before we leave for Florida. As some have suggested, I am not mentioning FW ever again. If he can't finish today, I guess I'll just comment/lurk until AF. Grr.

CS/Q: I really don't like this different brand of OPKs I ordered. Might make a trip to Walgreens because I feel like my second line should be there even if it's just faint.

GTKY: Right now we are both working on paying down debt while keeping a little in savings. Once debts are paid down, we should be able to bring our separate accounts because I like the independence. We decide who pays which bills. We don't really have a monthly budget, per se, but bills come first!

Rave: I didn't make it to the gym like I wanted while H was away. I was super lazy, but I did have a girl's night with a friend. We went to see Fifty Shades Darker. While it is definitely not as Oscar contender by any stretch, I thought it was an improvement on the first. And somehow Jamie Dornan got even better looking.  Also, Miranda Lambert concert tonight!! I am a budgeting queen. I actually do a weekly budget and I have a an outline budget for every week through the end of 2017 already drawn up. We aren't saving for anything in particular right now, but we do have some big ticket items that we need to pay off within the financing limits. Also, we spent 18 months saving every penny for our wedding so we didn't put much money into long term savings during that time, so we are also focusing on building that up. I just like knowing exactly how much I need to put towards bills, gas, groceries each week and seeing how much I can use for "pleasure" money.

We're on a tight budget right now because I'm only working two nights a week so that I can stay home with DD the rest of the week. We also just bought a house and moved out of state a year and a half ago so we're still adjusting to all of the financial obligations associated with that. I just write all the bills on a huge calendar and figure it out that way. We have a decent amount in savings that we don't touch, we both have 401k, DH has a pension, and I have an IRA from my previous job. I have a life insurance policy for DD that I put money into each month and is basically her savings for college. We're focusing on paying off our debt right now (credit cards we charged moving expenses on, car loan, student loans) so any extra we have is going towards that. What makes it super frustrating is that DH only gets paid once a month!

The places nearest to me only had an 11am appt today and of course I work so they wanted me to drive the 2.5 hours to pittsburgh tomorrow which I can't because I work and they give me such attitude every time. Like I'm sorry that I have to work too? Thankfully I have the printed orders and told them I couldn't get in today and they said they'd let me go to another facility thats not in their network. So I have to do that today, but I was all ready to have to skip this cycle.

I also keep envelopes that I put a little money into here and there for other designated things we're saving for like new appliances and furniture.

We sort of budget. We have a joint account, and personal accounts. I keep track of how money is spent from my account and the joint accounts. My husband doesn't do anything with his account. We are trying not to overspend as we are closing on our house (FX) next month. I do use an online program to keep track of mine & the joint accounts. I have a Roth IRA and 401k, but my husband doesn't as he is self employed, so that's something we need to look into. That's pretty much it.
