@BertieMeetsGertie - Stay strong with the home warranty. I've heard they fight you tooth and nail to "repair" it opposed to replace it. And so they "repair" and "repair" and "repair" and never actually replace unless you stand your ground.

@BertieMeetsGertie Home warranty FTW though! They are a pain in the ass to work with, but hopefully well worth the end result of a (FX) new furnace. DH is a cheap ass and didn't want to renew ours so I am of course just waiting for everything to stop working.
My friend who KNOWS we are struggling with infertility sent me a casual text *TW* saying baby #2 is on the way and that they were totally surprised by the pregnancy. She sent the text at 2 AM, just as I was getting out of the ER for my stress fracture/sprained foot. She was trying to complain to me about her pregnancy symptoms and all I could think is that I would be so happy to deal with such little inconveniences if I knew I could have a little one on the way.

Thanks @lulu1180 . I haven't even responded to the text yet because I was so shocked that she would do that. @AlohaKumu my bff shared her news in a text and I was pretty grateful. I was allowed to have my reaction before putting on my happy face for her. However she was a TW the rest of her pregnancy... Sorry the news hit you hard and she isn't being considerate of your feelings.
@AlohaKumu Ugh, I'm so sorry. My friends who didn't know our struggles kept asking us every time they saw us when we were going to have a baby. This past weekend I'd had enough and told them we've been trying for almost a year already. Hopefully they'll back off, but I don't know what I would do if they did something like your friend did.
@heatherdubrow I think it would have been better if she wasn't so casual and dismissive about it. Like, oh darn, another surprise! But I agree that it's good that she couldn't see my face because I know my expression wouldn't have been very nice!

@wabash15 Not that this is my first question about this situation but... whyy would that "get him parole"? I never realized being married resulted in being released from prison.

@AlohaKumu I mean, I'm team tell me in a text or email so I can choose the response I want to project but at 2 AM? Did I read that right?
@haylsbayls My vote is on new doctor. If you went in anxious and left feeling dismissed, how does this bode for other things? Hopefully you would leave feeling less anxious. Mine was the one who encouraged OPKs in the first place, too. For one thing, it seemed to me like she likes when patients have been using them to help with dating. For example, if someone Oed on CD19, no one would worry when it seemed like the embryo was measuring 5 days "behind" the typical expectation based on LMP. I get that they take the BBT with a grain of salt because that's easier to mess up but I can't see why not OPKs. *TW* My friend was TTC and then one month she was all "I'm going to try these tests." Then, "Those tests are awesome! I ovulate three days later than I thought." Couple weeks later, "I'm pregnant!" She could have wasted MONTHS. And yes, the whole she finally figured out when she Os (when I did OPKs the cycle before we started trying so I could be prepared) and boom, pregnant, does grate.

All of this chatter about Drs is making me happy with my OB. It took me forever to find her and I've been with her for 9 years... I'm super sad about the fact that she doesn't deliver at the hospital I would deliver at so I'll have to find someone else. She was the one to really push me to start bbt and opks. Then again, she also didn't refer us to an RE until almost a year and a half because she didn't count the first sixish months of our super nonchalant approach as actual trying. The first thing our RE said to us was that it was wasted time because she counts any time without protection as tried time.
Anyway, @BertieMeetsGertie that is so scary and I'm glad they caught it!
So not funny story, last year in our old house our furnace died and we had to replace it. Our CO detector kept beeping, and like the idiot I am, I assumed it was a battery issue, not an actual CO issue. Turns out, the people who installed our furnace didn't hook it up correctly and had it venting directly into the back half of our basement. We're lucky neither one of us or the dogs fell ill.
ETA: @wabash15 - awwwhhhaaaa!?!? That is perhaps the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. Wow. You win.
BTW - on the topic of carbon monoxide detectors, Nest Protect is on 15% off at Target this week if you use Cartwheel or the discount code if you order it on the website. I want to get one because the dog is home alone during the day. I'm a little annoyed because even though the circular mentions the battery version, I can only find the wired version on their website. https://www.target.com/p/nest-protect-2nd-gen-smoke-carbon-monoxide-alarm-wired/-/A-21541701

@JJMNO1616 lol so it's a long story, but quite literally he is now a fascist who identifies with Mussolini and believes that all of America's ills could be cured by having a revered (gay) warrior class.
As background, I grew up in a majority Mormon area where it was essentially unacceptable to be gay. This kid left the Mormon church when he came out in college. I literally have not interacted with him since high school but a good friend of mine from growing up sent me some screenshots of his facebook and yeah he is hard core pro-Mussolini and also in favor of an all-gay warrior class that would rule over "breeders."
@BertieMeetsGertie I am so glad they caught it. CO poisoning is such a scary thought! Glad you got out. @wabash15 SMDH! Hope she comes to her senses before it's too late!
WTF to the PT assistant at my chiropractor / acupuncture office asking if I dyed my hair. No, it's 70 outside in NJ in February and I can't control the heat in my classroom. Add a fever and I guess my hair got a little greasy. Thanks!
Also, WTF for the hospital charging $1,431 for blood typing bloodwork (even though I knew I was O-) and a rhogam shot? Think god it was covered. Also, why did I just get the explanation of benefits almost two months later? Haven't gotten a bill yet.
It's funny how it's the little things in life that mean the most...not where you live, or what you drive, or the price tag on your clothes... There's no dollar sign on a piece of mind, this I've come to know! *ZBB*
