@loveindc Great gif! Cross post from tww but...wtf body. When I want to be pregnant my period comes after a freakishly short luteal phase. When I want my period to come so I can start a medicated cycle my period holds off for the longest luteal phase ever. YOU EVEN TRICKED ME INTO POAS BODY. Stop being a jerk.
Seconding WTF body. I am having all of the same pregnancy "symptoms" I've had in the past. Eggs taste gross, really bad gag reflex when brushing my teeth, super heightened sense of smell. I have peed on all of the sticks bc logically I know that if I have symptoms I should be turning a test, but alas nothing. It must all just be in my head - I am psyching myself up and/or out. CD 1 should be Friday so we shall see.
WTF Coworker for being sick AGAIN so I have to do all of his work even though I only understand 30% of it. WTF to the engineer who wants me to update engineering instructions with all of my 0 years of engineering experience. I'm a contracts assistant who helps export documents sometimes not an f---ing engineer. Sorry I'm usually one of those people who would never say "that's not my job" but this is really pissing me off. I'm happy to help but theres a limit to how much I can help. Not because I don't want to help, but because I simply don't have the knowledge necessary to do the job.
My WTF is why does everyone need something TODAY?! Like this very second. And why don't ppl return calls? AND why is my boss still all sick and at work?!
@hartmich I went in today to express my concerns about being six cycle in and that's what I came out with. She also said "please do not even start with BBT until you're at the one year mark".
Me: 28 | DH: 33 EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@haylsbayls I don't know why doctors are not fans of the BBT. I mentioned doing BBT and OPKs to my regular OB and RE and they both were just like "oh did you turn the OPKs positive?" I feel like they all need to come here and LEARN something about the science of how all this works.
My WTF is why aren't I KU (this is my everyday WTF).
And another WTF is why is it that when I realize I need clothes (I have nothing for this in-between weather... apparently I only own sweaters and dresses), I hate everything that's out there?! I need someone to let me design the clothes and they make them for me. For free.
But if you aren't using BBT and OPK and the full arsenal of tools, you may not even be hitting your FW and the entire year could be a huge waste of time!! If it were me, I would consider finding another gyno.

@hartmich seriously, she was basically like ... don't smoke marijuana (it's legal here) and do it every other day, come back in six months. That is also my WTF everyday. Sometimes I want to scream at the universe.
@adirat right?! I came out of the appointment more frustrated than I was going in
Me: 28 | DH: 33 EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@hartmich My RE told me the reason he doesn't recommend bbt is because most people do a bad job of it and it causes more stress than it's worth. For most people OPKs are easier to interpret. While bbt is accurate if done well, if people don't do it well or don't intepret it well, it's just a mess. I get that. But I still do it
Wtf DH can I get a HINT at what to wear for this surprise anniversary date?! I need to know if I'm good in an LLR dress or if I have to dig out a fancy dress from the back of my closet!
@lulu1180@Sailing_Mama It took me so long to find her, I'm kind of sad that she gave me such shitty advice today. In her defense, I chose her because she takes a more natural approach to pregnancy, birth, etc which is maybe why she doesn't recommend OPKS. Although, I don't think peeing on a stick is all that "unnatural".

WTF to everyone's doctor! "Hey, waste a year completely missing your fertile window and not knowing if you ovulate." No, thank you. I understand BBT can be stressful, but once you figure it out it's great. Takes the stress out because I know exactly what's going on! If other women can't figure it out that's their problem. Don't demonize BBT just because some women do it wrong.
**TW pregnancy** WTF to the weather woman in DC this morning. About six months ago she adopted a baby after struggling with infertility for years. They did this whole segment about her adoption process, but she didn't go into the infertility in detail. So this morning she announces she's pregnant. This will only encourage the idiots who say "You'll totally get pregnant after you adopt!" UGH doesn't work that way.

My OB was also the first one to tell me about OPKs, back before we were trying, when I had a couple anovulatory cycles. How odd that yours would disregard it.
@haylsbayls wwwhhhhaaaattt? That is so weird. I talked with my obgyn about everything I was doing and it seemed like it was pretty helpful when we chatted. I think as long as they know your fully educated on the matter then it's a good thing. ' Like hey doc, I get positive OPK and then I can confirm I actually ovulate with my BBT, why am I not KTFU. Help a lady out.'
My WTF is I think I'm finally over the norovirus but I woke up with a crazy ass head cold. WWWHHHYY!?!?! I'm so tired of being sick.
@mispanda@Bababatty@wabash15 + everyone else. Thanks for agreeing with me that it's strange she would be against OPKs! I can always count on science and support here
Me: 28 | DH: 33 EDD: March 24, 2018 - angel baby at 21 weeks
@eggplantface YES like how is it stressful to have a handful of charts with data that can possibly point to certain issues (i.e. Short LP) it's stressful to fail at getting KU every month doc, how bout that?! And also I am so sick of those special snowflake stories (so and so got KU right before their first IVF attempt/adoption/whatever). Until that person is me, I don't give a shit.
@haylsbayls Also agreeing with the WTF to your OB! My OB is the one who told me to use OPKs too.
@mispanda Oh my gosh I had norovirus two years ago and it was horrible. I missed four days of work before forcing myself to go back on a Friday...which I really should've skipped too. I'm glad you're over that, but I hope your cold goes away soon too!
@eggplantface So I recently read a book about the history of infertility in America and that "get pregnant after you adopt" myth has been around since 1800! And it was disproven in multiple studies in the early 1900s but still gets circulated!
@eggplantface@adirat To me the adoption myths go right along with the "relax and it will happen" mentality. My MIL is a nurse with her PhD of all things and loves to tell me the story of the couple she knows who "wasted" (her words) $40k+ on IF treatments,*Possible TW* had a baby through IVF, and then got pregnant unexpectedly with their second after the fact when they stopped "trying so hard." At least she's let up on the pressure to give her a grandbaby now that SIL is expecting. She now follows her "wait until you have kids" comments up with ..."or a dog...whichever," which frankly there aren't enough JT stare gifs in the world to express my feelings towards that comment. *end possible TW*
As for the BBT thing, my old OB was all about it and wanted me to show her my charts, etc. My old RE, however, considered it to be misleading for patients with PCOS like me and a cause of stress. He wasn't convinced even with the most perfect of charts that I was truly ovulating, but idk why doctors would rule it out for the average patient. I'm curious to see whether my new doctors will support the idea of it or not.
Let me start out by saying I haven't read all the posts yet, but I declare myself the winner of WTF Wednesday. we had a routine maintenance inspection of our heating system this morning and the tech told me that the unit is leaking carbon monoxide so he had to shut off the system. I'm currently waiting outside for the gas company to come out and check everything out. They told me to wait outside or go to a neighbors house. Let's just say I called my poor DH in tears and told him what was happening and that I needed him to come home. WTF is happening?!?!?!!!!!

@haylsbayls WTF? What OB would say no to OPKs???? I get why they say not to BBT, but OPKs? I would find another doctor, that is someone who wants to be too 'natural'.
@heatherdubrow@jess0211@Tennis11785 we do have a CO detector but we've never heard to go off. So we need to go tonight and get new ones. The gas company just left and said that it needs to be replaced. We have a home warranty so of course they are sending another company out tomorrow to do their own inspection. The furnace is 30 years old so it needs to be replaced anyway but we want the warranty to pay for it.

@haylsbayls Wow, I'm so sorry to hear that is the response you received from your OB! I had no idea that charting and BBT was so controversial in the medical community. I have been thinking my OB will be happy to have a patient on top of things and educated but maybe not!? Also-- charting/BBT seems extremely natural to me. So the fact she takes a natural approach to things makes her response even more odd to me.
@jess0211 Lmao I know right?! I couldn't be bothered to click on it but I thought the same thing...at the very least give a better intro and explain what your "research" is about. I'm half tempted to comment and provide feedback on her recruitment strategies lol!
