Prenatal Vitamins

Re: Prenatal Vitamins

  • BTW - @knottie1431024820 - If you're going to stick around (and I hope you do!), I'd change your user name.  Knottie+a bunch of numbers is the default and it makes it a lot harder to tag you and it makes it harder to remember who you are if there are multiple knotties on the board (and I think there are).  You can change your name back over at The Knot's website.

  • Thanks everyone! I wound up going with the VitaFusion Gummies too. No nausea! Well, at least not from the gummies that is.
  • I have been taking VitaPearl. It is great.

    1) What Prenatal are you all taking? Vitafusion Prenatal Gummies

2)How did you decide on it? Well, I can't swallow pills (I know, I'm such a baby

  • Sorry you all. I'm doing this from my phone and my whole post won't post for some reason. And I can't delete it. Ugh
  • I'm taking the SmartyPants Prenatal gummies. I had a lot of trouble taking prenatals in my first pregnancy because I was so sick. I discovered these while I was breastfeeding and they taste amazing. My nausea hasn't shown up this time yet so we'll see if they continue to work for me. I also started taking a probiotic gummy as soon as I found out I was pregnant. It's by Ultimate Flora.
Do these gummies have iron in them? My dr says the ones I'm taking (vitafusion) doesn't and they want me too but the prenatal she prescribed for me is $170 for 30 days

  • 1) What Prenatal are you all taking?
Mega Food's Baby & Me  and Viva Naturals Omega-3 Fish Oil

    2) How did you decide on it? After doing some research we found out they were at the top of the quality ranks for all prenatals and fish oil categories, they're pricey but I rather pay for quality than quantity - especially when it comes to my little one. I have also experienced more energy, shiny hair, and for the first time in my life after taking Mega Food's Baby & Me prenatals I am able to grow beautiful strong fingernails!

    3) Does it make you nauseous? No, in fact, I can take these prenatal vitamins on an empty stomach. Fish Oil on the other hand is always recommended to be taken before or following a full meal.

What? No, just say no to $170/month. If you need a PNV with iron just head to literally any store and find some pills with iron. No need for scripts (unless you have other stuff going on). Most, if not all, gummies do not have iron.

  • @tyannejohn ^WSS.

I am on a prescription prenatal but it's $10/month. There is absolutely no reason for them to be $170/month.

  • Okay thank y'all! Yeah I did say no to $170! I'll check it out!
  • @tyannejohn I'm sorry I'm just now seeing this. For some reason, I didn't get a notification. But no, the SmartyPants prenatals don't have iron. I took a separate iron supplement during my last pregnancy (when I could keep it down), so I'll probably just do that again.
  • 1) What Prenatal are you all taking? Elevit. It's a bit pricier but the levels of iodine and folic acid are what is recommended.
    2) How did you decide on it? Since I got pregnant unexpectedly, I didn't take any vitamins leading up, so I wanted the best. Elevit has a really good reputation here.
    3) Does it make you nauseous? No but not many things make me nauseous.
