I just got word that I'll be starting stims on 3/14.
My dx is blocked tubes and this is my 2nd IVF round. My RE was concerned about my "not-stellar" egg quality in my first round (5/11 fertilization rate and only 1 made it to early blast, 1 morula). I'm hoping this round brings us more embryos! I got a BFP that round after we transferred the early blast and the morula but miscarried at 5w6d after having very low betas.
I'm looking forward to being active here this round and getting to know you all!

@caseyw8784 - Ugh! That is so frustrating! I also think he should be able to say that he has a medical procedure scheduled or that his wife has a procedure and he needs to be available to help care for you afterward. I don't think you would need to give more details, but I'm sure your clinic could write you some type of letter that you have a scheduled medical procedure if they needed proof. They might make him make it up some other time though. Glad you're getting your meds tomorrow! Our cycles will be close, I have my baseline scan on the 24th!

Hi everyone. I've kind of half posted and half lurked on this board for a while. After a long struggle with waiting, I can now maybe start to see the end of the wait. If my USI is clear on 3/7 then I start my stimulation for IVF on 3/24. Is this my appropriate group? Or should I wait for April?
@PennStateCait. Welcome! I look forward to following your story
@mmd1986 I think most ppl end up joining boards for at least 2 different months since The while IVF process is so drawn out. I think u should stay here then transition to the April board when the time comes
AFM. I'm *patiently* waiting for my period so we can call our insurance and get the ball rolling on IVF. Just a few more days now.
@bestofjoy I have no idea. Lots of women transfer at day 3 with no PGS and get pregnant.....so I tend not to worry, especially when my clinic has a success rate over 60% I trust they know what they're doing.
can i chime in on the "hallelujah meds arrived!" train?! @PoeMasque 63% success rate at my clinic and I transferred 2 frozen 5 day blasts. So I'm not getting my hopes up. People can and do fall into the 37% here. And mixing meds is no fun! I know of a nurse who struggled. I recommend everyone watch the YouTube videos! Lol

Hello everyone! I am cautiously joining in as I just got my date (3/7) to start stims for IVF #2! First round we ended up with 3 blasts and none were normal after PGS testing, so here we go again.
I did antagonist protocol with lupron trigger, so the RE suggested using HCG this time, but overall I did well with my original protocol so we are sticking with it, but using HCG in case the lupron didn't mature my eggs properly (I had 21 follicles, but many were empty and they only retrieved 9 mature).
Hoping success for everyone here! (*waves* hi @PennStateCait )

@PoeMasque - yay for your meds arriving! mine should be delivered to my office sometime today...the UPS tracker says that it's on the truck for delivery, so...FX! I'm not looking forward to the shots though...I have a borderline phobia with needles (I've been telling DH for 5 years now that I would be starting the allergy shots so i won't suffer so much at our friends houses cause they ALL have dogs and cats...he's given up on me actually getting them now! )
DH is a paramedic firefighter so he will be mostly doing the shots for me...hehe
got a little confused though, cause they included a list of meds and how they should be stored, and the lady on the phone had said that the gonal-f needs to be refrigerated, but on the list it said it could be in the fridge or at room temperature for up to 28 days. it also said that the cetrotide needs to be refrigerated? i have access to a small mini fridge here so i put the gonal-f pens and the cetrotide in there and kept the rest in the styrofoam box (which still had frozen packs in it) but now i'm unsure if I should also put the HCG and the menopur in the fridge??
and omg, there was so much meds!
and they asked if i needed a sharps container and i said yes, and they still forgot to pack one in...grr!
@caseyw8784 - The menopur does not need to be refrigerated. I can not speak for the NCG or cetrotide since I do not have experience with them. I believe the gonal-f would be like my follistim which said I could keep it unrefrigerated for a month or in a fridge until the expiration date. I have mine in my fridge but thats the only med I needed to refrigerate. I hear you on there being a crazy amount of meds. Just think all of this is going in your body!!! Sucks they forgot the sharps container. You can usually buy them at local pharmacys if you want one or I think you can use a large soda bottle and keep them in there.
I keep gonal-F refrigerated. It makes it last longer. This way if you have to do another cycle like me.... Well you may save some $$ centroid Aloso refrigerated. Sounds like antagonistic protocol?

@caseyw8784 I'd go ahead and refrigerate the Gonal-F and that way if you have leftovers you can use them in a future cycle or donate them (my clinic accepts donations). I had to travel with my Gonal-F though so it was nice that it CAN be unrefrigerated, you just have to use it within 28 days then. Does that make sense?
The only one (I believe) that CANNOT be refrigerated is Ganirelix. I think it makes it ineffective or less effective.

My clinic told me that you can dispose of the needles in a hard plastic bottle with a lid- like a Gatorade bottle and then just throw it in your regular garbage. Apparently if you use a red sharps container you have to take it to the clinic for them to dispose it.

@HottLemonade2886 it's "micro" because they try to give you a bunch of meds in a short time to spike your follies is how I understand it? Anyway- I am a poor responder and got 8 eggs on antagonist and 2 blasts. So time for a change. It's 4 injections a day.

So we had mock transfer today, RE said my anatomy was great for a smooth transfer. however, he said they were surprised at my "really low" antral count and will be doing a really aggressive protocol. I'm so ready to get started on stims and have it done with!!
my meds all say to store at 25C or lower and that they are good for 3 mos at this temp (room temp). The follistim says it can be refrigerated, but doesn't need to be if it's used within 3 mos. I have follistim, menopur (powder that you mix before use), and ganirelix
