@mtele - I believe I was told to just plan two days off (day of transfer and one day after). That's my plan since I have an office job anyway so not much activity or heavy lifting for me.
@mtele my clinic wants zero downtime and up and moving no more than 10 minutes after implantation. They put them in- you get up.

@mtele the paperwork from my clinic says 1-2 days bedrest, but they tell you just to "take it easy" for a few days. I've always wondered how ectopic pregnancies happen in IVF....my uterus tilts backward and I worry about bedrest encouraging embryos to fall back into a tube. It's something I'm going to ask about for sure.

@PoeMasque - Interesting thought. I have a tilted uterus too. My clinic did a trial transfer to see how deep they need to go so that might help lower the risk of an ectopic pregnancy but still something I might want to ask too.
@caseyw8784 - I don't think we have a spreadsheet yet. It would be great if you made one.

Good Morning Ladies! I'm in between Feb / March for IVF so figured I'd jump on both boards. I had my last bcp today so should have my baseline ultrasound Friday morning. If all goes well I'll start stimming that night
Hoping we all have great results this upcoming cycle!
@caseyw8784 - Spreadsheet layout looks good. I was going to add my info but it said I could only view it unless I get permission from you to edit it. The only google account I have is used for other purposes and other people have access to it so I don't want it really linked to my account for privacy reasons. Would you be able to add me? My info is pretty much the same as yours except I'm doing PGS not PGD.
Interesting to know that there is so much variability in recommendations after the transfer. I guess my clinic is on the conservative end. It's good to know that not everywhere recommends so much time off in case I'm not able to take that many days off from work.

@HottLemonade2886 no- the wait is excruciating. But really only if you have a very low about of embryos. For everyone else I can't imagine it's as bad.

@HottLemonade2886 our clinic does fresh transfer with PGS testing. This seems uncommon, but I'm really glad they do it! We are paying about $6k for it, maybe that's why it's so spendy?

@HottLemonade2886 testing on day 5, transfer on day 6. They quoted is $4k, but I have two friends who have recently finished cycles at the same clinic and have advised us to expect extra fees for everything......the financial piece of this process is maddening.

@PoeMasque - Wow I didn't know they could get results that quickly. Are they doing them in house? I hear ya on the extra fees and all. There have been a few times already where we think we have a good idea on how much this step will cost but then didn't know or think about these extra little costs (and by little I mean hundreds not thousands. haha) that add up quick.
I'm still waiting for CVS Caremark to review the meds order. I'm anxious for them to call to confirm the delivery date, so my RE can tell me when to stop the BCPs! I've waited over a year just to get to this point...another day or two (or even just a few hours!) shouldn't be that hard! lol... I was told to call them to check in on it tomorrow if i hadn't heard anything; I just called them and they said they would put a rush on the verification process...on the east coast, in terms of "work hours" it already is almost thursday...!
@HottLemonade2886@PoeMasque I've also been curious how they do the PGS testing in 1 day! It seems like most people on here have to do a FET since results can take days-a couple weeks. I wonder if not all labs have the capability to do it in-house, and/or it might cost more since it's like a "rush order"? ::shrugs::
@caseyw8784 - Ugh waiting is just the worst. FX your pharmacy gets it all figured out sooner. My clinic said it normally takes 7-10 days for the PGS test results. I didn't even know it could be done in 1 day until I heard from ladies on here. I mean I would imagine its like blood work and you only have a window of time to work with so really it should only take 1-2 days. Why makes us wait?!?!
@HottLemonade2886 and @caseyw8784 the in house embryologist sends cells to genesis labs, they send back results next day electronically. The eggs stay in house the whole time, so maybe it's level of ability related to the embryologist? My biggest fear is we get to day 5 with only a few embryos....odds are at my age we only get 50% normal. My SO doesn't want to do the testing, but knowing those numbers how could you NOT do it. We'd have a 50% chance of failure based purely on rate of abnormal embryos.

Lurking.. @caseyw8784 I use CVS Caremark specialty and was told by my REs office a couple weeks ago when my FET cycle meds were being ordered that the pharmacy changed their policy recently and that patients needed to call and set up delivery now, instead of them calling you. It still takes a day or two for them to process the order but I would call back tomorrow. I've had no problems with them though. Good luck!

@PoeMasque - My clinic is the same but for some reason they say it takes 7-10 days. I think it's the outside lab setting those standards so maybe it's just different genetics labs running their program differently. I think testing is a good idea. I'm not one for chances so would like to know that at least the embryo we transfer is chromosomally normal. Eases that stress. FX we all have lots of day 5 blasts that come back normal!
@rainbowwishes5 - Yay! You will be just one day ahead of me. So happy you made the plunge. I know it has need a hard decision for you. FX this cycle will work out great and you have lots of good healthy embryos!
@PoeMasque Lurking from Jan. IVF. It's weird they can turn around the PGS results in one day, I never heard of it. But, based on my experience, what if the embryos only make it to blast at day 6 not 5? Then you can't do a fresh, isn't it? Almost all mine only made it at day 6.

Sorry, I need to have a little mini vent - quasi not fertility related...(also posted in Feb IVF)
So DH had jury duty this morning...We live in Boston, and there's a high profile case starting for a double murder - for a defendant who is already sentenced to life for a third murder. And now my husband is in the pool of jurors for this trial, which they say will start March 1 and will be more than 6 weeks. And of course we are about to start the stim cycle! I'm just getting frustrated that we've waited over a year for the PGD probe to be built, and other delays, and we are FINALLY ready to start, and now we might be delayed cause freaking Aaron Hernandez is too gun happy and couldn't stop (allegedly) killing people! Ugh.
I know he most likely won't get chosen (the pool of potential jurors is about 500-600 people) but to keep calm I feel like I need to figure out what to do to plan ahead...just in case. I know he can freeze a sample or two, but we have to do ICSI...does frozen sperm work just as well as fresh with that? (DH has no issues with his count/motility/etc...the reason for IVF is solely on my part...)
@caseyw8784 - Jury duty tends to know when it won't be a good time and thats when you get it. I just had it late 2016 and of course it was over two days that I scheduled off work for me to just relax. People said I should just tell them I have a vacation and they would postpone it but since I knew IVF was coming up I didn't want to have to worry about it. Luckily I didn't even need to come in for jury duty. FX your husband doesn't get picked but I'm sure he could write down that you are going through IVF and he needs to be at doctors appointments and such. That might work. Once I put down that I bottlefeed a kitten and needed to be available every few hours which was the truth and that got me out of it.
As far as frozen sperm I think it would be a good idea to do it once you know he definitely is on the jury. We plan to use frozen sperm and ICSI for ours but we were warned that his sperm might not thaw well because aspirated sperm tends to not handle the freezing as well as ejaculated sperm so I think your odds will be good if it came down to frozen sperm.

@HottLemonade2886 @PoeMasque I've also been curious how they do the PGS testing in 1 day! It seems like most people on here have to do a FET since results can take days-a couple weeks. I wonder if not all labs have the capability to do it in-house, and/or it might cost more since it's like a "rush order"? ::shrugs::

@caseyw8784 I use CVS Caremark specialty and was told by my REs office a couple weeks ago when my FET cycle meds were being ordered that the pharmacy changed their policy recently and that patients needed to call and set up delivery now, instead of them calling you. It still takes a day or two for them to process the order but I would call back tomorrow. I've had no problems with them though. Good luck!
