Every time I woke up last night all I thought about was a damn changing pad. DH & FIL put our crib together that has a changing table attached, and the "pad" that came with it is ridiculous. So I was thinking about what changing pad we'll have to get to put on the changing table. Ridiculous I know. I'm going to BRU tonight to order dresser, so I'll have to check to see what changing pad works in our changing table. I'd love for my mind to not race at night!
@mecoats - I spent the other night lying in bed thinking about how I hate where our pack n play is set up. I should have just moved it and gone back to sleep, but DH would have thought I was crazy. I told him yesterday and he said that he agrees and the current location was just temporary and he'll move it eventually. Doesn't he get that I need it moved right NOW
@mecoats I lay awake and reorganize and clean our shoe closet in my head.. I can't even reach most of the damn shoe closet so until I can get DH to help I should really just stop thinking about it!
Hit a whole new level of uncomfortable today... as if I didn't hurt and ache enough. It's amped up x10. How am I supposed to teach for potentially 5 more weeks?????? I kind of want to bawl at the thought. Signed, "wiped out more than I've been most of this pregnancy."
I noticed today that the blond peach fuzz on the sides of my face is now.. well.. less like a peach and had grown more... pronounced. It's still blond so you can't really tell unless you're 2" from the mirror or my face but that was alarming. I hope it goes back to normal post-baby.
I googled signs that labor is imminent. I have them all 36 weeks this weekend, yikes. These include: - change in discharge to be thicker - cramps and increase in lower back pain - slight dropping (but not really as dramatically as with my first) and pretty intense pressure on my tailbone and bladder - more pooping - extreme tiredness in the day - relentless energy to check things off my list at night, I guess nesting
The only one I'm not sure about is dilation, and I guess I'll find out monday!
I just wanted to include the list so you could all join me in obsessing, lol.
oh and I've been sleeping well the past two nights which makes me worry labor is coming for some reason haha. finally get good sleep and still can't help but analyze it!
I keep misreading the title of this post as seafood not symptoms. I half expect another delicious seafood discussion when I come here. Totally amping up my seafood craving this week...
I moved from the NE to the Southwest a little over a year ago and miss good seafood!
I am having such a hard time with speaking. ..like I start a sentence and don't finish it because I forget what the point of it was..or I pause for a good 15 seconds to think of a word, like 'conditioner' or 'recycling'...so they're not uncommon or fancy words. My stories have become so jumbled lately that I think my DH and family must just want to shush me before I even start and embarrass myself
No tots, sadly! Instant mashed potatoes and broccoli. Not proud of the dinner I made but after working a full day 38 weeks pregnant and doing daycare drop off and pick up for 2 toddlers, this mama was tired!!!
@longliveregina I have all of that too! Ahh! As much as I am SO READY to not be pregnant any more I really need this babe to cook a little longer or it will screw up my daycare plans! Lol
Ditto on the extreme tiredness. Last few days on my drive to work around 1:30 I'm exhausted and it takes every bit of energy to keep my eyes open on my commute. So bad. I think I've been getting more pressure on my crotch too...feeling simultaneously ready for baby to come and also not ready because I feel like we still have so much to do before he comes!!

It's 3 am. Who else is up with pregnancy insomnia? You'd think there would be some comfy way to sleep with 5 pillows (a snoogle, a wedge, a body pillow, and two standard pillows). Poor DH! Off to the couch for me.
@Happyhiker this is me/my night exactly!!!!! And waking up 4x before moving to the couch to spit up from acid reflux/actually puke one occasion...and this morning waking up for the final time because LO decides he's gonna wedge some part of him up under my ribs and it's still there an hour later and it's killing me ughhh move baby!
+1 up from 2:30-4ish last night! So much for the extra good sleep my body was giving me being the sign of soon coming labor. Haha. I thought about grabbing my phone to bump, but decided if I was already having trouble sleeping then the screen time wouldn't help. So-Instead I layed obsessing about baby related things.
I haven't had any weird cravings (or even normalish ones) this entire pregnancy, but all of a sudden lately, the second I see or envision a certain food, I want it. Like... reading the Southern Vampire Mystery series, where they talk about their burgers and fries at Merlottes... I want it. Then five minutes later, watching How I Met Your Mother and there's something or other about fried chicken... TAKE ME TO KFC NOW!!! On the way to work today, listening to The Girl Who Chased the Moon, and it describing some cake or another that I have never even heard of (and incidentally, though I've had zero cravings, I have had an aversion to most baked goods like cake, cookies, etc.) I suddenly wanted it. Even sitting here at work, thinking about the fact that we have a bag of apples in the fridge, I am now counting down the minutes till I can get home to eat them.
Sorry to all my insomniac buddies! Hope you eventually got a little rest. The couch eventually worked for me until 6 when DH decided it was time to watch the basketball game he recorded last night. All good though, time for work for me!
1+ to insomnia here. Sucks so bad. Also I'm hyper irritable, tired all the time and nauseated this week, which are probably side effects of the troubled sleep or just hormones :P and the list of imminent labor signs got me all bothered as well!! I have all of them at 35 weeks! Im so excited to start seeing March babies arrive in the next few weeks though! The Birth Announcements board is gonna be poppin'!
@MMaru I had the same thing happen to me all of my first trimester! I don't think I ever actually craved anything but if I thought about a certain type of food or heard someone else talk about it I would completely obsess over it until I could have it! Even stuff I didn't normally like to eat haha
I did! Dandelion root capsules are the only thing that gave me relief... some people swear by grandpas pine tar soap and a cold shower but that helped me for all of 15 minutes... I really hope you aren't getting it!!
I either got mine online or Whole Foods I can't remember.. I came across the suggestion like 3 days before giving birth and was so desperate at that point I didn't even call my doctor! lol but in 3 days I could definitely see a difference already. I hope your doc tells you it's not PUPPPS or has helpful advice
+1 of being up last night from 2:25-3:35ish... and here I lay again tonight. Just terrible.
For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. 1 Samuel 1:27 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I have been having this crazy tightness in my belly all day. It has taken my breath away at times. I went to the grocery store earlier and just felt really off. I don't feel contractions, just a tightness that doesn't let up. Baby is moving like usual but I haven't felt like this at any point so far. I've been drinking a lot of water and sitting. Going to try a warm bath.
Add me to the no sleeping list. My carpal tunnel hurts so bad at night. It's now my whole arms and shoulders that hurt along with my hands Also the baby is really up in my ribs. I'm trying to ice the area now. I hear it can help move him away but right now it's just making him kick more.
@BaylieGirl i had carpal tunnel last time and I so understand the sleep issue. Trying to rest my hands on my pillow or elevated helped a little but i couldn't find anything that made it disappear completely Your baby was probably very confused with the ice haha "Hey mom cut that out!" lol
So it's 2am, and I've been awake the last hour. I both simultaneously want To just keep laying in bed but also want to go organize the chest of random drawers in our living room.
Such. Bad. Cramps. If I didn't know I was pregnant, I'd think my period was starting. I tried drinking water and laying in my left side to no avail. I Am staring longingly at a bottle of midol, lol. Any pain relief suggestions for cramps?
(note: I do have a mw appt tomorrow so I'm going to ask her, as well)
Re: Symptoms not Seafood (2/13)
I keep having to go poop in the mornings and think--is this pre-labor!? Nope... just poop cramps. Bahah.
