Symptoms this week... I feel like I have lightning crotch at least 50% of the day now, which makes walking to work and attempting to pay attention during people's therapy sessions AWESOME.
I'm no longer able to sleep through the night because my hips are unbearably achy no matter what side of my body I sleep on. (btw.... I can't wait to sleep on my stomach again...)
I think I now have a permanent lower back ache... Going to ask the midwives at my next appointment if they can refer me to physio to see if there's some sort of stretches or exercises I can do to help with this. I don't want another 5-7 weeks of this everyday.
ugh symptoms revved up this week. idk if LO dropped but man does she feel/ look low. every time i stand up i have to pee now bc her head smacks my bladder. sooooo many BH! they were actually waking me up the other night because they squeeze her into my already sore hips and definitely cause some discomfort. i swear sometimes it feel like she's just going to drop out of me. I've definitely been snoring more as confirmed by my husband. oh and carpal tunnel has started. it's the worst at night when i need to figure out what to do with my hands.
also, is anyone else generally sore in the vagina/cervix area? i especially feel it the 47 times i'm in the bathroom. it's almost like i had a really good romp but i most assuredly have not.
i'd really like for her to stay in until week 39 at least but that is starting to feel like an unimaginable challenge
@gators&bosox Your snoring comment reminded me... I've been drooling REALLY bad while i'm sleeping. Like I wake up every morning and half my face is wet. It's disgusting and my pillows stink. I feel like I'm washing my pillow covers every two days.
Also been particularly sore in the vaginal/cervix area. Between that and the ligtning crotch increase and back pain I'm also think LO dropped recently. But he was already so low that I'm not sure I'd notice if my bump was lower or not.
My symptoms seem to have really ramped up this week also. +1 for constant backaches and increased lightning crotch, plus all of a sudden I really feel like I HAVE to pee every single hour. All. night. long. DH shared that I have been snoring, but that doesn't bother me

Also LOL at the thread title ;] nice touch, gators. Haha.
Symptoms: 39+1! And a whole lot of nothing! Maybe some hope for you who are a little behind me: I WAS having horrid hip pain, not getting any sleep, peeing constantly at night... but the past few days/last week I'm getting a break!! My hips don't hurt anymore in bed, I'm only waking up once around 4am to pee! And sleeping great! Also haven't gained any more weight in the past 2/3 weeks after packing on a full 40lbs by 36wks.
Am having--pretty constant BH, and exhaustion & hunger levels seem to have increased. And +1 to the cervix pressure/lightning crotch feels... definitely increased when I go to the bathroom. I'm assuming it's baby pressing down and/or cervix changes in preparation for labor?? But it is a bit startling when it happens!
@kjd291 i feel like your body is attempting to earn brownie points before it puts you through the challenges of labor lol i can't wait to hear what it's like when your labor decides to start
Lack of sleep...last night I didn't fall asleep until around 3:30am...even got up at 2:30 to stand in a warm shower to try and relax my muscles...asked my doctor this morning about taking something and he suggested Benadryl, so I'm going to try that tonight. I know I know...it'll get worse when the baby comes, but right now I need my sleep!

Definitely earning brownie points for letting me sleep!! No complaints there!
Also have NO idea which way this kid is facing. I've been trying to be really in tune with positioning, and thought I knew what was what (ish) but I'm still clueless. If i could take a guess from what I'm feeling at the moment: my child has at least six limbs.
Plenty of new symptoms here! Little ones movements are definitely more pronounced and his favorite thing to do is poke a knee (or something) directly out to my left side. It's super strange. This weekend was the first time that I noticed my feet starting to swell and now this morning I've had to take my wedding ring off. I'm BITCHY. I do not want to be at work much less to be training someone on how to do my job. Last, but not least, I'm exhausted!

Gators&BoSox I totally understand what you're talking about. My pelvis is KILLING ME. This kid goes bananas every time I am sitting down. Kicking me non stop today and non stop BH. MISERABLE

I'm so glad I'm not the only one!! I feel like a mom-failure sometimes because I am so out of touch with where this kid is, but these movements make literally no sense most of the time.
Other than feeling like tuba music should be playing every time I get up and walk around....
-Noticable daytime BH have started but mostly when I'm sitting in one particular chair... weird. -Heartburn is either absent or intense. No in between! -Relentless Urination (this is from an episode of 2 Broke Girls but I've adopted it) -Hip/back pain at night. I used to be able to prop myself up once my hips gave out but depending on LO's position, I get lightheaded due to vena cava pressure. -Obsessing about LO's position like others have said. The favored spot seems to be head under my right ribs and legs at my left hip, but I'm feeling constant somersaults and flips throughout the day. Growth scan last week showed almost 6lbs of baby, so I'm wondering how many more musical chairs style flips and flops before the music stops!
My whole stomach situation is a disaster. He must be squishing it hardcore, because I can barely get a meal in. Then, once I've had the audacity to eat a whole cup of soup and a few slices of cucumber, the heartburn starts. He's already dropped a bit, so I don't know how much lower he's going to how/whether I'm going to get any relief before he's born. I'm 35+3 and hoping he decides 38 weeks sounds like a better time to show up than 40 ;-)

@UnicornsPlease I'm glad I'm not the only one thinking that an early baby would be nice. I was just saying as long as they are ready.. 37 sounds glorious.
Ive been hit with exhaustion and am missing my come home from work naps I got before my son.
Heartburn is still there, feeling huge all of a sudden, and my right rib feels bruised. Also the awesome hemorrhoid could go away anytime it felt like it. How did I avoid this with my first pregnancy? No idea. I even posted earlier about the awesomeness of a squatty potty and I feel like I have to take it back.. although it does still seem to help.
For this child I prayed, and the Lord has granted me my petition that I made to him. 1 Samuel 1:27 ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ ------------------------------------------------------------------------------
I passed out for 2 hours clutching my phone like it was some sort of security blanket in my hand. Now my hand is killing me.
Also, guys, according to the (notoriously inaccurate, but still) growth scan today. I have 14 pounds of baby in me, plus two placentas and amniotic sacs etc. At the risk of sounding like a know-it-all, please see me for all your 'holy crap I'm so huge I don't know what to do' questions/complaints cause I've been there and I feel you.
37 wks +3 days and I think I can officially say I've had my first BH contractions. Finally! Not that they're great or anything but a sign of labor is nice!
My congestion is over. The. Top. And I can't breathe all night long. That, combined with the more-than-frequent urination, is killing me in the sleep department.
I think I'm waddling on a regular basis and the pressure/lightning crotch is just the norm now haha
@C25 I was glad to read your post about finally having BH contractions because I'm 34+5 and have not been feeling them yet either! It seems like every post in the symptoms thread is talking about BH and lightening crotch and I have yet to experience either.... *knocks on wood*
@SienaC it's strange how we want the symptoms if we don't have them because they are signs of progression..but when we have them we are complaining of the misery they cause!
id be grateful to be without lightning crotch though. That one is just ugh.
Nausea is back in overdrive. I've been throwing up the entire pregnancy but for months now, it's been just a little mouthful that I cough up right after eating - past week or two, I've had a few experiences of vomiting everything I ate the entire day. Just feeling overall queasy. Not able to get comfy no matter how I lay (though I've been using a nursing pillow to support my stomach when I am on my side - that has helped a little!) and the last two days, I have had the return of the butt cramps. Anxiety was better for a bit but now I'm back to only sleeping a few hours at a time because I can't shut my brain off enough to get decent sleep. Lots of lovely mucus in my nose - lucky for my husband, we're on opposite work schedules so he only has to hear the snoring on weekends.
@SienaC -- I didn't have a single BH or any lightning crotch my last pregnancy!! I think alot of other FTMs have said they haven't noticed any--it just really ramps up sometimes for us STMs
I hadn't had many BH either, but now I notice them here and there. Mine are subtle and my belly just gets super tight for a bit then loosens. They don't feel sudden or severe. More gradual tightening then loosening. Mostly when I get out of bed in the morning or when I get up from my desk after sitting. Also - I was thinking the same thing, hmmm no lightning crotch here, but yesterday.....just wow... ok so now I know what you all are talking about! Especially love it when it strikes when I am walking down the hall at work and I have to try my best to keep walking normally. Yesterday it happened and I pretended to all of a sudden be really interested in the interoffice mail so I could just stop for a moment and collect myself.
I ate way too much food last night and ended up with massive heartburn that was keeping me awake. I ended up moving to the couch and propping myself up with pillows in order to get any sleep.
Alright, my anxiety is in overdrive today!! I had mentioned this in another thread, but I fell while walking outside yesterday. Since then the baby noticeably dropped.
I had a midwife appointment today, and at the appointment she responded "wow, your baby is really low. When are you taking off work? Do you want to start to take off sooner? This baby could likely come any day at this point. " they didnt do an U/S, or cervical check. I'm only 35+4, But now I'm paranoid that because of my fall he's going to come a lot sooner.
@npaulie sorry you're feeling anxious about babies arrival. As I commented in the STM thread-sadly there is no way to know! Some mama's are like a full 5cm dialated, head dropped, having contractions... from 30odd weeks all the way up to the end of 41weeks before labor kicks in. Other mama's are closed, baby high up, not a BH, and baby comes early. That's why I don't do cervix checks. IMO They just mess with your head. And I really dislike docs/midwives saying "baby will be here soon" because it just sets your expectations for that and drives you nuts as you go day after day / week after week with no baby.
sorry... I know that's not really helpful. Stay strong-you got this!
@kjd291 no, that does help. It's helpful to know that there's a good chance that this has no bearing on the timing. I think just hearing the midwife say that, then asking if I wanted to take a cert to go off work sooner is what freaked me out most. If he comes early that's okay; I'm just really worried about going into labour in the middle of a therapy session with a client. Realistically I only have 2.5 more weeks of work. And I don't want to take off so early that I'm twiddling my thumbs just waiting for labour to start.
Theres jusy no good way to judge and no good answer. Hopefully the anxiety will subside soon since the appointment is still so fresh.
Too many symptoms to list out, but here are some top few: contractions (mostly BH and crampy feeling, but I've had two real ones as well... holy geez those things are no joke), sinus crap still, so tired - back to complete exhaustion, emotional, lightning crotch (brings me to my knees occasionally!) and overall just over it!
i've been bouncing between heartburn and queasiness all day. you'd think the heartburn would calm down now that she's lower but it just keeps getting worse.
also, i think baby rerouted herself and found a home in my hip sockets. Seriously, she feels like she is in places she shouldn't have access to!
@Gators&BoSox feeling like they're in places they shouldn't have access to is so accurate!! I don't feel like this kid should be able to stick whatever appendage basically out of my side. I didn't think my uterus went that far to the side.

Congestion which gives me sinus headaches I was going to ask about the vagina soreness but figured it probably was just me so I'm glad to know it's not hesrtburn mostly at night when I'm trying to sleep she likes to kick near my belly button area which hurts like crazy hips hurt and I know I waddle even though I try to mask it and I'm just TIRED. I could get a good amt of sleep and feel rested but by the time I get to work I feel like I'm going to fall out. By the time the kids get there it's a wrap I feel like I've been up for 10 hours.
I completely agree about being TIRED! I just can't get a good night sleep anymore and I'm so over it. I am a person who loves their sleep!!! I feel like it will be very different when I'm getting woken up frequently by my baby but this whole not being able to sleep because I can't get comfortable is BS

It's way different IMO!! I didn't mind getting up with DD when she was an infant to feed her, It's way worse not being able to sleep because of discomfort/insomnia. I think it's easier to sleep with a newborn than 8/9 months pregnant, so I hate the advice "sleep while you can before the baby gets here". If I could sleep, I would be in bed right now instead of bumping and watching Friends.
You know you're pregnant when...you get woken up at 4:30am by terrible stomach pains and the need to go #2 and your first thought is "my body is clearing itself out for labor!" instead of "I guess fast food for dinner really WAS a terrible idea"
