Baby is all good! I'm so incredibly relieved... we got to see the tiny little peanut moving around all over the place. They said the heartbeat was good and strong, and that I'm measuring right on my dates. Woo hoo!!!
@HollyGolightly09 yay! See...sometimes spotting can be a blessing in disguise instead of meaning you're in iminant loss mode! This way you got an extra ultrasound and got to see baby wiggles!
Gah, so much good news today!! I'm so happy for you, @HollyGolightly09 and @divinemsm620! What a relief! And I'm glad you're being seen tomorrow, @Texafornian! You and your little one are in my thoughts and prayers.
And @rainafire77, I'm so sorry I'm sending support and prayers for tomorrow and moving forward.
To share on the familial inappropriate responses: I lost my mom 3 years ago, so my aunt (her sister) has been a bit of a stand in. When I called to tell her about my loss in November, she immediately blurted out, "Well no one in OUR family has had a miscarriage. What about Ross's family?!" Ugh. Not helpful.
Hello, ladies! I haven't formally introduced myself on this thread (even though I've been commenting on it), but I'm so glad it's here! As far as I know, we didn't have one in my last BMB.
If you are new this week... Welcome! Please introduce yourself. My name is Ellen, but most people call me Elle or Ellie. Pick whichever you like best. My first pregnancy ended in miscarriage. It devastated DH and I, but we regained hope, tried again, and were very lucky to conceive again right away. That baby stuck and today, we have our precious 17 month old Benjamin.
How far along are you? 10 weeks and 2 days
How are you doing? (Mentally, physically...) We had a scare on Friday when I started bleeding and felt strange, but after a trip to the hospital, a tiny beating heart on the u/s screen, a shot in the ass, some vitamins, and lots of rest, I feel good again.
When is your next appointment? Wednesday, the 15th, just to make sure everything looks okay. NTS on the 27th.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I hate that I try to prevent myself from getting attached to my babies in the first trimester since having a miscarriage. It's self-protection, but it's shitty and it doesn't work anyway. I was still crushed when I thought I was losing this baby.
GTKY: How/when do you plan to find out if you're having a boy or girl? Are you planning anything special to share the news? I'd love to have the self-discipline to wait and be surprised, but it's at odds with my love of baby prep. So we will want to know once it's clear on the ultrasound. We haven't announced our pregnancy yet or planned a gender reveal, so we had better get brainstorming!
Lastly, thank you, thank you, thank you for being here for each other! I know it's hard, but we have to talk about losses more. So many people have no idea how common they are until it happens to them, and because it's so hush-hush, it's easy to feel alone and unsupported. You're brave and wonderful for opening up and sharing your experiences.
@jena333 ugh...some people just have no clue. So sorry you got such an unhelpful comment...hopefully she meant well but just put her foot in her mouth. I can't wait to hear what my dad spits out when I tell him I'm pregnant again...at 43. Bahaha. I'm sure it'll be a gem of a comment.
@ellekh I hear ya on the shitty first trimester thing. Case in point with me squeezing in another ultrasound tomorrow with peace of mind. I wish we were all oblivious to loss and could sit back and ONLY deal with a few physical symptoms. The mental ones can suck it!
@Texafornian - I know what you mean, but at the same time, on those really rough newborn days with Benjamin, reminding myself of my loss helped me stay grateful.
***TW*** Well, this morning's appointment didn't go so well. I should be 7+2 (I'm very certain of ovulation within one day either way based on temping), but the baby only measured 6 weeks with no heartbeat. They are checking my HCG and scheduled an appointment for next Tuesday just to be sure, but they weren't optimistic.
So far I'm taking the news OK, and even had an OK day at work. DH was with me this morning, and was not happy. Here's hoping the third time's a charm (or that a miracle happens this week).
Wishing all the best for you ladies. I'll lurk from time to time to check in on you!

How are you doing? (Mentally, physically...) Mer. Some good days, some bad days. In total, we've had three prior miscarriages. One our very first pregnancy, followed by a successful pregnancy with our daughter. Then we had a second m/c in October (at approx 5 weeks), immediately followed by another in November (again at approx 4 weeks or so). We intended to take a break to consult with a fertility specialist my doc recommended, but apparently we are very fertile (for that, I know we are blessed) and we got pregnant again Dec.
When is your next appointment? One week from tomorrow. I am so anxious. Our 8 week appt was good -- strong heartbeat at 180, arms and legs moving around. Did discover a small SCH, so I'm praying that's resolved by next week.
Rant/Rave/Questions? I just hate the waiting. I feel like all I've done these last 4-5 months is wait. Wait for bloodwork to find out if my HCG has gone up or down. Wait for appointments. Wait for symptoms. It's so emotionally and mentally exhausting. I'm terrified, but ready for next week. I still will not feel out of the woods, but I will feel so much better if we get a good report next week.
GTKY: How/when do you plan to find out if you're having a boy or girl? Are you planning anything special to share the news? With our daughter, we elected for a gender scan at 17 weeks. We aren't very patient, so I'd say we'll do the same again this time. No special announcement or gender reveal. We waited until after we knew the sex of our daughter to even announce to the world we were pregnant (with the exception of immediately family). As long as I'm still able to physically hide it, I'd like to keep it under wraps until we know the sex this time, too.
tomorrow is my 11 week scan so I am going into my normal freak out mode that I always do right before these ultrasounds - and last night morning sickness came back with a vengeance.

I had some light bleeding when I got up this morning...so I'm on bed rest for the day, pelvic rest for a week. I'm supposed to call back if there's red blood again. Ugh.
Some women have normal, worry free pregnancies, right?
@HollyGolightly09 that's what i keep hearing get some rest today and i hope the bleeding stops

@HollyGolightly09 who are these mythical pregnant unicorns? Lol Oh to be stres free through this...hope you're able to rest today!
@jlf1019 welcome and congrats on that fertility paying off!
I updated on ultrasound thread...but still all good! On track with a strong HB and I got to see baby squirming all over the place. ❤ I feel better now about telling my dad and his fam this weekend...
@HollyGolightly09 That sucks. Definitely take it easy today. If those magical unicorns do exist, I don't know any irl! I don't know a single woman in real life who hasn't had something- terrible MS, MS that lasted through second tri, bleeding, bad sciatica, something. I think everyone has something, even if they don't tell us about it.
@HollyGolightly09@lahearn18@amandarene112 I do have one friend who seems to be the magical pregnancy unicorn. Pregnant first month trying both times (two gorgeous children), no major symptoms, glowed gloriously through both pregnancies... and she is a lovely person so I can't even be mad!
As for me, even though my next scheduled appointment is next Tuesday first thing in the morning, I still spent half an hour yesterday googling to see if there was one of those non-insurance "vanity" ultrasound places near me that I could go into for a "peace of mind" scan (I didn't know these existed until someone mentioned them on another thread recently). None of the ones in my area seem to take people under 14 or so weeks, which is really best for my sanity. Now just stop me from ordering a doppler. Gah.
u/s tomorrow, and I'm freaking TF out....I still can't imagine it being good news and I still can't imagine it being bad news. I'm just so scared :S

@BigBadWolf12 That's exactly how I felt before my us, and the only comfort I could find was telling myself that at least I'd finally know one way or another. Big hugs to you. And FX that everything is great tomorrow!
@BigBadWolf12 I think we are the same person. I've got an u/s tomorrow too and I feel the exact same way. The anxiety is out of control today. Why is it that pgal brain 100% takes over the day before an appointment? I've got all my fingers and toes crossed for a great u/s for you tomorrow!!
@icecubeinthedesert - Honey, I'm so sorry that you're going through this. You know we're all here if you need to talk. Sending you love and healing thoughts.
