I'm ordering It Starts with an Egg tonight but am now kind of dreading the diet portion

I've already eliminated most high GI foods (refined carbs, sugar) after my diabetes diagnosis back in September...I've been kind of turning a blind eye to the whole soy conversation until now but this book may be the gentle nudge I needed to start paying attention to it more.

I am feeling SO much better thank you for asking! I still have some soreness and I am still verrryyyy bloated. Embryos are good. Of the 14 we have 4 good and 3 fair and 7 duds (I didn't get exact grading). We got the day 5 update and only 3 have made it to blast so far. But we will get another update tomorrow and my doctor still sounded really positive. Its just a bummer to go from 23 to possibly only 3. But that solves the question of why tf are we not pregnant: egg quality.

@laurad75 Yay! So glad you made it to retrieval. Fingers crossed for an easy retrieval with 5 beautiful perfect eggs!

Messaged my nurse today to ask if we could do a medicated cycle next month if this one doesn't work, even though I haven't lost the desired amount of weight and they said yes!

Mine never did either until after my surgery. Even then he said my weight would have no impact on success or not, it could just increase complications during/after pregnancy. So his suggestion was to loose some to help decrease any potential problems. You know, if I ever see a BFP this decade.

@heatherdubrow and all others that have had a retrieval.... How soon after your retrieval did you get your period? I know everyone is different but just curious and don't want to google my period at work. I have full flow this morning and for a second I was like OH NO I'M BLEEDING and then I was like wait.....just my period.

@tamalahoops Good question!! I finished watching my RE's IVF orientation video last night and got the scoop on how the egg retrieval actually works, but it didn't say anything about how your hormones are affected after the ER. It only talked about the drugs women go on to prepare for a fresh transfer, not frozen. Could the bleeding be a side effect from the ER? The video said that could happen.

@eggplantface The nurse right before my retrieval said I should get it in "a couple of weeks." I think its too heavy to be from the retrieval. I have a heavy flow so its regular for my period but it seems so soon. I sent an email to my doctor so we'll see.

@tamalahoops I actually can't remember? I think it was a couple weeks after, but that time period is such a blur. Are you doing a freeze all and the FET or a fresh transfer? I'm guessing FET since you had OHSS? I wouldn't worry too much about having your period right away.

Thanks @heatherdubrow Doctor says its no big deal to get it early. We're doing a FET and I just got the greenlight that we can do it this cycle. I have my coordination appt in a week! So excited!!!

What are you doing this cycle? (Testing? Treatment?) **just had my AMH and thyroid test yesterday at my appointment where I got my loss results. H is going in for a SA **end TW

How are things going? Ehh. They're going

Any questions? My OB mentioned that the AF after this one to come in on 7 dpo for progesterone testing and then on cd 1 to call to make an appt for an HSG. But she didn't mention anything about FSH or CD 3 bloodwork. Should I call about that?

Guys, I bought an organic pineapple the other day to do the whole eat a slice for days blah blah blah........ O.M.G. that was the most disgusting thing I have ever done. The pineapple itself was pretty tasteless, but the core was down right nasty. I had to choke it down, I seriously thought I was gonna vomit.

@marley629 Thank you! We are doing a FET with PGS testing so I will have about a month break after today.

@kaitlilnk33 Oh honey. It sounds like the pineapple wasn’t ripe yet. A ripe pineapple is firm but not rock hard and it smells… pineapple. It won’t smell until its ready. I was always wait one more day after it seems ready.

@purplg8r I would call and ask. It's nice to get as much testing done in one cycle so you have all the info by the end of the cycle.

@adirat it seems like the online price of the one I was looking at is similar price when it drops. 60 pills for $29. I have a TJ close to me though, so I'll go check it out this weekend! Side note, I love their oil/fragrance/paraben/phlalate free face lotion and its only like $5.
