Re: Monday B!tchfest

  • Y'all make me feel bad for stressing over preschool costs for DD2. It's 2300 a year for a 3 day a week/4 hour a day program, but Im a sahm so I don't have to put her in. I'm debating on putting her in because of 1. Money, 2. Figuring out how I'm going to pick her up while being home for DD1 to get off the bus. Preschool is free for 4 year olds but I want it for the socialization for my (almost) 3 year old. Uhhh I dunno.

  • @awoodruff27 I 100% recommend preschool at that age for socialization!! Plus they learn a few things and get used to a routine. The girl I nanny for goes twice a week and her mom stays home but she loves going to school! She has learned a lot!

I find daycare costs to be so outrageous I'm just not even considering them. We were lucky to be able to keep my DD home until she was 2 and have only paid about $500 a month for 3 days a week since. She's going to full day kindergarten in the Fall.

There is is simply no room for full time daycare costs in our budget so this baby is going to a home daycare that charges $30 a day. So that will come out to about $600 a month, but it is still way cheaper than the daycare around the corner that was asking for $1900! I agree that there are pros and cons to daycare near home vs work. But I think I'm more geared towards the convienence of being close to home. Our place is 5 mins from my house and it's nice to just get DD dropped off real quick first and then focus on getting to work.
