How far along are you? 12 weeks 4 days! On Friday they said i was 2 days ahead, but will keep the original dd.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Had my NT scan this past friday, went well, measured at 1.5mm, just waiting for the blood results. Next appt is 2/17...
Cravings? hmm, nothing crazy, just feel like i'm hungry more...
Rants/raves? ugh...not happy with the results of last nights game...but the halftime show was good!
Questions for FTM, STM+? when did you first feel your baby kick?
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? I like the Kia commercial with Melissa McCarthy, but we were hosting a few people, so i was busy cooking/cleaning, and couldn't see all of them...
With my first I felt my baby at 16 weeks. Felt like butterflies in lower abdomen.
This time I've felt it once already (I'm 14 weeks) but not since. It felt just like last time. So cool. The moments get harder and more defined as the baby grows.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Nope
Cravings? My sugar cravings tapered off. I still want the sweet stuff of course, but not as full blown as it was.
Rants/raves? Maternity clothes lines that are online only. I need to TRY ON dress pants and shorts, ahem Gap and Old Navy.
Questions for FTM, STM+? Not today.
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? I laughed so hard at the Melissa McCarthy one too. I like the ones with celebrities- Christopher Walken and Justin Timberlake with the Bai Bai drink were funny too.
Like Belmont above, I think I felt the baby for the first time Saturday. I felt a fluttering in a place where I normally don't feel anything. I thought maybe it might be gas still (lots of gas this weekend, ugh), but it was such a different feeling... I think it was the baby. So cool.
@jacksonbears Im glad your NT scan went well. Also my mom keeps bugging me about if I have felt the baby yet, and I haven't (I'm 14 weeks tomorrow). She is convinced that I am feeling it and I just don't know.
How far along are you? 14 weeks tomorrow! Hello Second Trimester!
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? I have a checkup on thursday, and I think I have to do the 1hr glucose test, ugh.
Cravings? Nothing new, fruit, smoothies. I think hunger is coming back, but then again, I had a weird schedule last weekend and didn't eat for a long time, so that might have just been that.
Rants/raves? Not really a rant or a rave, but today was my EDD before my loss. It is a weird feeling, Im sad knowing how far along I should have been by now, but I'm happy that Im 14 weeks along, and not still trying. . .
Questions for FTM, STM+? Now that Im in the second trimester, are there things I should absolutely make sure I get done, or is there a reliable checklist of things to get done. every list I have found has been contradictory, and I am unsure what things might be must do's and which are things that I might not need to do.

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? // NT Scan on Thursday! Can't wait to see baby and praying for great results. Also had blood work done last week for genetic screening so waiting on the call from that.
Cravings? // I had a wild craving for crab legs so DH took me to get some on Friday. I put them AWAY. So satisfied
Rants/Raves? // MY MOTHER. Who created a Pinterest board for baby not knowing the WHOLE WORLD CAN SEE IT. We hadn't told my two half sisters yet and they totally called her out on it, so we were forced to share with them before we had planned on it. I was livid. Also my mom drives me at shit crazy normally so that doesn't help. She just doesn't think. I'm still so frustrated.
Fave Super Bowl Commercial? // Definitely the Bai one with JT. We also watched the end of the 84Lumber one online because Fox deemed it too controversial. It was really powerful.
@littlebug2010 it seems so early for the glucose test! My midwives do it at 28 weeks, but they're also a home birth practice so that could just be different. Also sending you lots of love on your missed EDD. ❤
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? NT was this AM, it went great! It's amazing how much bigger the baby has gotten in the last few weeks.
Cravings? Nothing terribly overwhelming right now, though I wouldn't say no to some strawberry ice-cream. Rants/raves?
Questions for FTM, STM+? Not that I can think of...
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? The Justin Timberlake and Christopher Walken one was pretty funny, and the T-mobile ones were so ridiculous I had to laugh.
@mrsmatt1212 Thanks for the . Also, I have mentioned the seemingly early glucose test before, but yes Im pretty sure its really early. Last time I was at the OB (we have rotating OB's so we can get to know them) the OB that was there said that becuase my BMI is high (overweight) I have to do both the 1 hour and 3 hour (no matter what) and she recommended me to do it early. Many other ladies on here gave me a good list of questions to ask, mainly because none of my previous test make me high risk for GD. So Who knows, and I plan to update after my appointment.

How far along are you? 13+4 Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Appt tomorrow!! yeyyy! Cravings? Nothing really lately. Rants/raves? One of my best friends is due two weeks before me. She already has a crib for a boy and a girl picked out, her shower date planned, registry started. Our our house flooded last August and we just moved back in two weeks ago, so I've been 100% focused on the house, unpacking, finishing working on it, etc. I'm usually so on top of everything and she's not, and she keeps asking me when my showers are going to be! She is making me feel like such a slacker! Questions for FTM, STM+? ummm shockingly, I can't think of anything! GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? I thought majority of the superbowl commercials sucked this year! Where the heck were all the budweiser commercials?! the past 3 years they've made me cry! I'd have to say my faves were the Bai with JT and the one with Melissa McCarthy.
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Nope
Cravings? Nothing specific. But I've noticed that I don't crave meat. Normally I eat ALL THE MEAT, but lately I've been avoiding it and it's weird.
Rants/raves? I can't wear anything in my closet without being uncomfortable because we haven't told people really. I'm just so freaking bloated that I think I look huge. As a FTM I did not expect to be this puffy this early!
Questions for FTM, STM+? I second @littlebug2010 question.
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? I didn't particularly like any of them.... the halftime show was great though!
What helps your energy levels? I haven't sworn off coffee completely (have been careful to stay under 200mg a day), but I slept really well last night yet am just dragging ass today. I dragged ass yesterday too. This baby is a parasite sucking my life force. Since you can't OD on the caffeine what else helps?? I do go for walks on my lunch break at work, I do work out for about 30 minutes 3-4 days a week...
<< yawn >>
I'm going to cross post this on the symptoms thread by the way as not everyone might read the FTM thread.
@mrsmatt1212 I made a hot crab dip for the game and probably finished 3/4 of it. Sorry, guests! Crab legs sound awesome.
@littlebug2010 I'm sorry you're feeling off today.. I think it's normal to mourn your loss but also be excited about the future. Take all the time you need. YAY for second trimester tomorrow!! You are closer than ever
@NatSprat0703 Wow that seems a little premature! Good for your friend being so prepared, but the last thing I'm thinking about right now is a date for my shower.. I've read other moms start actually buying stuff around 20 weeks. You could slowly start accumulating items that aren't on your registry or maybe checking out cribs/nursery styles. Don't stress yourself out! I've found myself getting overwhelmed looking at those checklists of "things to do before baby arrives".
How far along are you? 13 weeks 3 days
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? None.. next one is the 24th. We did buy a doppler so we've been listening to the heartbeat every few days which is reassuring.
Cravings? Not really! It's been tough finding something that actually sounds appealing.
Rants/raves? YESSSSS Patriots! I'm in New England so can't help but love the Pats. Even if you aren't a fan, last night's game will go down in history! Rant...work. I complained about my co-worker the other week who coughs and makes snot noises in his cube. He finally went to the doctor and turns out he has bronchitis on the verge of PNEUMONIA. Excuse me - do not come into the office. We have a work from home policy - USE IT.
Questions for FTM, STM+? I second (third?) the kicking question! 16 weeks seems to be the standard response, but anyone felt earlier than that and been confident it was baby? I can't wait!
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? I loved the Audi commercial with the little girl in the soapbox race. I totally teared up - especially since we found out we're having a baby girl and I can't wait to watch DH be a dad to her! Anyone else think the Mr. Clean commercial was creepy?
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? None this week but we have our NT scan 1 week from today.
Cravings? All sweet carbs. Mostly doughnuts..all of the doughnuts.
Rants/raves? Rant-I'm still feeling sooooo tired every day. I really hope that this gets better soon because having no motivation and wanting to sleep all of the time is really bringing me down. Rave- I have more good days than bad days now when it comes to nausea. Definitely a positive thing!!
Questions for FTM, STM+? Question on the NT ultrasound at 12 weeks--did you need a full bladder for this? My doctor didn't tell me either way. Also @secicc12 What doppler did you buy? Still trying to convince my DH to get one because we haven't heard the heartbeat yet!
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? I likes the one with JT and the "bai bai"
It works really well - there are two headphone jacks so you and your SO can both listen at the same time. I tried to find one that has a speaker on the outside like my OB uses, but couldn't. It did take me about 10 minutes to find baby's heartbeat the first time.. But you'll get the hang of it! With 4 weeks between all my appointments during second tri, I definitely needed this lol.
@mrsjqg1024 - I just got off the phone with the office doing our NT scan and the lady said to drink one regular size bottle of water before getting to the office.
@secicc12 Thanks so much!! I just sent the link to my DH and with lots of prodding, I've convinced him to use the amazon prime account to get it here by Thursday Fingers crossed that we can find the heartbeat!
@secicc12 Thanks so much!! I just sent the link to my DH and with lots of prodding, I've convinced him to use the amazon prime account to get it here by Thursday Fingers crossed that we can find the heartbeat!
Yay! That's awesome. Don't worry if you don't find it right away, just keep moving around slowly and all of a sudden you'll heart that beautiful beat!
@jacksonbears@mrsmatt1212@Kathryn0903@secicc12 I had an anterior placenta with my first pregnancy so I didn't feel any kicks until into my 20-22 weeks. I said a range there because I can't remember the exact week without looking it up but I know it was as we were driving up a mountain in Colorado.
@littlebug2010 I remember following the checklist from TB last time but I also remember laughing at it. Like right now it says to see the dentist. Well, I see them every 6 months, not just because I'm 14 weeks pregnant.

@littlebug2010 I'd say in general they are a person by person case of when people do things when. I recall them telling me to start on the nursery at one point and I already had. I'm not following a checklist of any kind this time around except my OB appointments.

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Nope, NT scan next week!
Cravings? My appetite is starting to come back and now I want junk food (nooooo, weight gain is probably right around the corner)!!
Rants/raves? My office is also where we keep the fridge and snack drawer. Those little debbies my office manager stocks the snack drawer with are killing me. I want a zebra cake darn it!

GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? We announced our pregnancy to family yesterday so we were busy chatting and I do not remember a single commercial.

You are not a slacker! That is... an excessive amount... of planning to have completed by 15 weeks. I'm kinda in the same boat as you- focusing on getting my house stuff completed before switching focus over to preparing for the baby.

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Last week. Everything went well and I got to see it bounce around in there for a quick minute with the in-office ultrasound machine.
Cravings? Corn dogs. Oranges.
Rants/raves? We told my oldest SIL and she got teared up then gave us hugs, it was really cute. My BIL is a kinda a dick about babies (he pretty much hates them) and said something along the lines of "I'm sorry. That's terrible" and that was it... whatever. I know his personality and when he says shit like that I let it roll off my back.
Questions for FTM, STM+? C&P from my weekly ticker check in: Now that I can eat again I'm starting to slightly freak out about my diet not being perfect and full of all the nutrients that are so needed right now. It's starting a bit of mental struggle internally...I almost feel like I can't eat enough in order to fulfill all the different nutritional needs of pregnancy...I hate having food issues. I worked really hard to successfully overcome an ED in my early 20's and this brings back some ugly memories around food obsession. Anyone else working towards maintaining a healthy balance about food and the nutrients you need?
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? The Audi commercial made me tear up. I thought it was wonderful

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Getting blood drawn today for the Counsyl Informed Pregnancy Screening. Next actual appt is 2/24.
Cravings? Off an on. Now corn dogs sound good, thanks to previous posters.
Rants/raves? Having a hard time getting things done, because I'm so tired. Needing DH to understand.
Questions for FTM, STM+? When do I need to talk to daycare options? I see some posts about places that have a 2 year waiting list and it's freaking me out.
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? I work at 2am, so I slept through the Super Bowl. From what I've seen though, the Christopher Walken and JT was pretty good.
@secicc12 Ok I'm glad I'm not as far behind the ball as she's making me feel!! I agree...the checklists are stressful!! @Mango517 yes! Like I can't bring a baby home to a house that's not completely done yet! it's liveable for 2 adults, and that's mainly just because I couldn't deal with my in laws anymore! Not quite baby ready yet though.
@MrsVP614 I think daycare timing depends on where you live. I know that becuase I live near Boston, I have to get started now. But I know that I have zero chance of getting into places like Bright Horizons becuase they have a crazy list, but there are some smaller local ones that dont have any list (I live just outside the city). So I would maybe give your area a look, and then call one or two places to just ask about lists, and that might give you a better idea.

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
I didn't know where to post this, but didn't want to start a new thread, as it's nothing too major. I got my blood results back from my NT scan, took them 2 days. They told me 2 weeks and when they called my heart skipped a beat, i was nervous it was bad news. Fortunately, based on results I'm "normal/low risk", they said chance of down syndrome was 1:7,500 and the T18 risk was 1:10,000. This is wonderful news, and we're over the moon!
I asked the nurse if they knew the gender. Obviously this was not a priority or purpose of the test, I'm just ecstatic that my results were normal. She said she didn't have it. Shouldn't the test be able to tell you the gender?
@jacksonbears great news! It's my understanding that the blood tests for the NT screen do not tell you the sex of the baby. The numbers provided are based on the blood tests results, other risk factors (like age) and are combined with the measurement results of your scan to give you the odds. It's different than the NIPT tests that extract baby DNA from maternal blood for testing.

Clearly we like to rush along at lightning speed...
@jacksonbears I think @mango517 is correct. My NT blood work did not have the sex either. But we met with a genetic counselor before, and she showed us that the lowest level of testing they can do and recommend for people my age wont have that, but if we had wanted to pay for more testing those would have it. So we are still chilling until 18-20 weeks to find out!

Mommy to a super cute havanesse puppy and baby boy!
@jacksonbears the difference is what @Mango517 said. NIPT is based on DNA, NT is based on measurements and proteins. NIPT is more accurate regarding trisomies 13, 18, and 21.
As far as kicks go, I'm also a FTM but I am positive I felt him this weekend. I never lay on my stomach but DH offered me a backrub to help with my migraine. I laid on my belly on my bed and the whole back rub all I could feel were butterflies and flutters in my lower stomach. This is what others say they feel which are kicks so it was super exciting. DH was mad that he wasn't able to feel them but I was lol.
I hate to admit but we are super ontop of this pregnancy like your friend, NatSprat0703. We already have our jogging and umbrella strollers bought from facebook swap sites, bought our car seat last night since it was 40% off at Target and I didn't expect anyone to buy a normally $350 carseat for us, bought all the baby detergent, and a ton of other things we will need from swap sites for $5ish a piece. Everything we are buying used is being soaked in vinegar/bleach and scrubbed to death, so I didn't want to have to do all of this the month before the baby comes. Like, we bought the Boon Lawn used for $5 instead of $25 but didn't realize it had some mold starting, so instead of pitching it I took a toothbrush and bleach to it for 2 hours. lol.
We plan to pick out a crib this weekend and buy it and my DH is planning the shower with his mom and I think they have a date too...good to know I am way ahead of the game and can slow down though to focus on me a little bit...
Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go? Didn't have an appointment per say but had a procedure where a lump was removed from my left boobs under local anaesthetic. Baby's heartbeat was monitored prior to surgery at 165 and was 152 after surgery. Was abit worried about the number after surgery but was told it's within range.
Cravings? I have none
Rants/raves? So I've been sick for the past 6wks...I don't vomit but I have nausea....I generally feel hopeless and struggle to eat...I have no taste buds so nothing taste like it should. The weird thing is I've been told as I progress the sickness should tapper down...that hasn't been the case for me...things I could manage to eat like toast, crackers...I find myself struggling to eat them this week. So it's like something new every week.
Questions for FTM, STM+? I'm not sure what to ask...I'm a FTM and I'm concerned with my eating habit...I don't eat anythng nutritious....I'm just in survival mode.....I'll like some help with ideas to expand on my options....

Appointment Friday!
Cravings?
still fruit
Rants/raves?
Excited that my first maternity dress is on it's way!
Questions for FTM, STM+?
same as others, when should I feel movement? I feel like I'm starting to feel things
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday?
Tom Brady commercial! Big Pats fan here!

Any appointments this week or last week? How did it go?
Yes we are finding out the sex of the baby this weekend!!
Cravings?
If anything I would say sweets, but that was always me before pregnancy too.
Rants/raves?
Just can't wait to find out what we're having! Also I think an actual bump is starting to emerge
Questions for FTM, STM+?
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday?
I didn't pay any attention to the commercials actually.
@mrsmatt1212 ugh sorry your mom spoiled the surprise! I wouldn't be happy either!

IT'S A BOY!
@littlebug2010 I remember following the checklist from TB last time but I also remember laughing at it. Like right now it says to see the dentist. Well, I see them every 6 months, not just because I'm 14 weeks pregnant.

Questions for FTM, STM+? When did you start shopping for or planning the nursery?
GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday? We announced our pregnancy to family yesterday so we were busy chatting and I do not remember a single commercial.

@Mango517 yes! Like I can't bring a baby home to a house that's not completely done yet! it's liveable for 2 adults, and that's mainly just because I couldn't deal with my in laws anymore! Not quite baby ready yet though.

I asked the nurse if they knew the gender. Obviously this was not a priority or purpose of the test, I'm just ecstatic that my results were normal. She said she didn't have it. Shouldn't the test be able to tell you the gender?

GTKY: What was everyone's favorite commercial from Super Bowl Sunday....to be honest I don't remember any of the commercials...I'm from Boston so the 1st half of the game was hard to watch..... it was like someone died in my apartment complex until we came back alive :-)
