@amanning2011I was told to pee a little bit before transfer, too. Like @jodes727 I had acupuncture right before, so I downed 20oz of water prior to acupuncture... and then... my clinic was running late. So I was in their waiting room trying not to pee my pants when finally they said "just go a little bit."

@mtpbadger Again, I am so sorry. I wish I could come give you a big hug although I know it might not help. Take all the time you need girlie and know that we will all still be here cheering for you. Nothing in IF is fair but with the support we all show each other it def makes each day easier.

@rainbowwishes5 I am sorry that you needed to say goodbye. I know a lot of the other ladies already said it but we are all here for you! I'm thinking of you today lady and I am praying that those two embryos are your baby(ies). GL today!

@Worldtravler0522 You and your DH are too cute! I love the HPT fairy. I am still too scared of POAS because I have never seen another line and I swear I got the worst case of line eyes each time only to be let down. So this time no pee sticks in my future haha

ChocolateIsLife Sometimes the symptoms come and go which can be less reassuring.

Very cool about going back for graphic design!! Had you worked in Marketing very long? Are you still working in marketing while going to school? My undergrad was in marketing...I interned at ogivy and mather and decided I probably wasn't going to do marketing in the long run (even though it was a cool experience). I now work in education.

amanning2011 Glad transfer went well! congrats on being PUPO! That darn bladder thing I think gets all of us.

@BecauseLove trying my hardest not to get my hopes up too high yet. I'm encouraged because the line got darker between today and yesterday but the HPT means nothing without the Beta. Staying as sane as I can. How are you doing?

Worldtravler0522 have you tried a clear blue easy digital? or a accuclear? I found them to be more clear than the frer. Darn frer was always faintish.

Doing ok. Anxious mostly. I have my US on Feb 3rd. So hopeful that will help resolve nerves and make this feel real. Would have been awesome to do a Beta Draw this week to just be reassured but oh well.

@BecauseLove I'm fine with the FRERs

I never have trouble with the HPT it's just Betas. I always have a good first one but things have gone south both times before with Beta 2 and 3. Hoping so much this is our time.

I get your anxiety wirh with wanting more reassurance! Hopefully time flies by for you and everything is perfect at your ultrasound.

@Worldtravler0522 You crack me up! I used to be a mad woman with the HPTs but after a year of nothing but blank ones now they scare me more than they help me

I am taking off the entire day of beta this time so DH and I can try and find out together. I did cheat and POAS my last two transfers but DH wanted me to wait both times haha. Now do keep in mind that I am speak from my sane "pre-transfer" mind right now. Who knows what kind of mad woman I will turn into when I get into the TWW haha. I hope I can hold out to Beta.

I've heard of women using viagra to help thicken their lining...has your RE mentioned that at all?? Take care of yourself. This whole journey isn't fair. I work in healthcare so I see how unfair it can be. Honestly, the only way that I've been able to hold onto my (shreds) of sanity is by coming on here and talking to you ladies or reading through posts of people who have been in similar situations. You're not alone in your feelings. My DH told me that he was was happy I was on here to talk to women going through the same worries because there's only so much comfort he can give me. Sending positive thoughts and prayers in your direction that it'll all work out in the end

@emgem819 I tested really early at 5dp5dt and thought it was negative. It was sooooo subtle....it was a real squint-and-tilt-to-the-right-while-hopping-on-one-foot kind of line. It wasn't much darker on 7dp5dt so I spent most of that day crying in bed convinced it hadn't worked

Thank you so much for thinking of me ladies....I had to take a break from the boards because I was driving myself INSANE!!! The test I took two days ago was a dollar store cheapie and while it was (barely!) darker than the one from 5dp5dt, it was still waaaaay fainter than I thought it should be. Took a FRER yesterday AND another dollar store cheapie and they were both positive. The dollar store cheapie had SIGNIFICANTLY darkened! Today I took both a digital and FRER and both were positive!

The nurse taking my blood asked if I took a HPT and I said "just once on sunday because I was freaking out" I don't know why I lied to the nurse taking my blood and told her that I only tested once. I guess it's because I didn't want to get lectured. I think she didn't believe me

Anyway got a phone call back and my beta is positive and a wonderful 86!!!!! We are pregnant! I called my husband at work and he sounded so out of himself.

The nurse told us to be cautiously optimistic because it's still early....I was thinking "Duh woman! Stop trying to steal my joy!"

@BecauseLove I worked in Marketing for about 2 years, but was in Accounting prior to that for about 5 years. It was for an IT company, so I mostly built campaigns and created content for seminars. It just kind of became a lot of reports and data analysis, which wasn't enjoyable to me, even though I loved my company. I quit almost 2 years ago, partially because I wanted to branch out into photography and work into graphic design, but also a big factor was that IF was taking priority over everything else. The combination of severe cramps all month from the endometriosis, paired with continuously getting negative HPTs just took a toll on me over the years. I am hoping that after I finish this degree, my skills in both marketing and photography will help me find the perfect job. I definitely miss the corporate life! What age group/subject do you teach?

ChocolateIsLife I totally hope the going back to school provides good timing to jump back into things with even more skills, talent, and knowledge.

I can't even imagine just making charts, and reports etc. Has school been fun? I coordinate programming for a center for workforce development and lifelong learning (mostly adults but sometimes teens). I enjoy it. Lots of diverse activity!

I did get a call from my clinic yesterday with my baseline US/BW will be next Wed at 9:30. I am just SOO anxious with each passing day as we get closer. Your US will be a few days after mine, that's so exciting!!

Oh and @SwtAnana, great first beta!! Can't wait to hear the results for #2

AFM: Yesterday after the transfer, I felt so calm, yet today the impatience and anxiety have definitely set in! This was our only embryo, so basically our one shot, as we can't afford to go through the IVF process a second time. I'm hoping that his good quality, and my partners awesome uterus/lining are enough to get him to stick around. Now to stay sane for the next five days (think we'll try a HPT on Sunday). . .

I can totally relate to your anxiety about this needing to work as I also can't afford a second ivf if things don't work this time. Hard enough putting money together for one...ppl with insurance covering ivf are so darn lucky! Anyway sending good vibes that this time is your lucky one!

BecauseLove I’m doing well, thanks! I have blood work and an ultrasound on Friday. I’m getting so anxious/ excited. There is so much pressure on this round since it’s our last two embryos.

Joslynj11 I didn’t POAS either time and I don’t think I will this time. I’m just so terrified of having a BFP and a terrible beta. BUT it is really hard going into beta day not knowing a thing.

Yay SwtAnana so happy for your good beta! Hope #2 is way high!!

@BecauseLove For the tummy troubles, it's actually been kind of an every other day thing, but happening at night. Last night before bed was bad again. TMI, but the issues are mostly diarrhea, which truly sucks. I thought I was supposed to have the opposite problem! Do you have any noticeable/developing symptoms at this point?

on my way to the hospital now to get the transfer done received a call this morning that both my embabies survived the thaw was so happy I was really nervous about that. are there many people having more than one transferred?

EmilyE13 yeah I have heard about diarrhea as a symptom of being pregnant. Somewhat better than vomiting but still unfortunate. I have headaches and heart burn mostly. Sometimes exhaustion just takes over out of the blue -Like my whole body is shutting down for sleep now (but not exhausted all the time or anything). Oh I also have a bit of cramping here and there. All quite random. As much as I don't like feeling bad it does help give me some reassurance that things might still be going ok. I will feel much better after my US on 2/3.

@BecauseLove isn't it funny how we are dying to feel like garbage to reassure us something is happening in there! I keep grabbing my boobs and telling DH they don't hurt which I rationally know means squat.

I've been doing some research on bromelain too if anyone has info? It's supposed to be the enzyme that we want by eating pineapple core so I'm thinking of taking it instead of the core this transfer.

Joslynj11, I was also looking into eating pineapple core or taking bromelain, as I'd read so much good stuff about it online. I brought it up to my doctor, and she advised against taking supplements or eating too much of anything your body isn't used to, and cited an example of one of her patients who had been taking bromelain capsules (without docs knowledge) and had three failed/unexplained transfers. I've also heard of clinics that advise their patients to eat pineapple core. . .so who knows?!

Hey ladies! Ugh so just did another poas with DH and got the faintest second line. I know there are two lines but one is so faint it's just barely there. Could someone let me know if I'm allowed to post the pic on here or is that against policy? I can't remember! Freaking out that I'm maybe looking too hard to see it!

So while the line was faint it does appear to be a positive test at 8dpt. I'll prob poas tomorrow too to make sure it's getting darker. Feeling very much cautiously optimistic since last MC but hoping for the best! Definetly been a roller coaster so far!

@BecauseLove school has been great! Most who are pursuing graphic design at this school are older which is nice. However, it is pretty amusing hearing some of the younger students chat. Yesterday, I overheard this girl talking about how this clothing advertisement had failed (Ann Taylor Loft, which I LOVE) because the target group is 35-45, and the typeface on the ad was too thin/small for that age to read. It was a beautiful Bodoni Serif and I wanted to smack her for assuming mid-thirties is elderly. I couldn't help myself so I cut in to their conversation and explained how ridiculous that sounded (in a very nice way). It was all light-hearted, but kids these days!

Ladies, I was doing great with these PIO shots but the last couple ones have really sucked. I'm getting all itchy now?! I don't think it's an allergic reaction per se but I'm keeping a close eye on things. Tonight I had DH rub an ice cube on my butt....felt amazing

I may start doing that before the injections and then try sitting on a heating pad afterwards. Second beta tomorrow...hope we have good numbers.

Supposed to go out of town with DH on a work trip tomorrow but I told him I'd go depending on the test results. If they're good, I'd be up to going but if they're bad, I can not travel with him and keep my composure if someone asks when we'll have children

@swtanana Sorry about your itchy experience with PIO! I don't have experience with that form of progesterone, but I did have an allergic reaction to my other stims, so I feel your pain. My clinic recommended benadryl 30 minutes before, which helped so much. I would ask your clinic first though since you are pregnant! FX for your beta tomorrow!!!
