@lin&;say and @Nikkilegare I'm really sorry....But I think the FET has better chances of working out! I'm a true believer in FET because I think the body needs to heal and cleanse from all the (unnatural) hormones.
I had a lousy fertilization rate despite ICSI, of about 60% ugh...13 eggs fertilized. So it confirms that quantity does not equal quality, and a gentler stimulation would have probably led to the same result..now waiting for the 3d report and very jittery.

AFM: My period was expected to start 6 days ago for me to start stims. That didn't happen!! I just got back from the clinic. After an ultrasound and blood work, they have prescribed me prometrium for 7 days to induce a period. It's so ironic because the fertility issues stem from my husband, and I've always been regular and healthy! Kind of frustrating, but its not the worst that can happen. So I'm waiting for AF another 7 days... then we can start stims! I still plan to stay on this board though I'll be the later bloomer.
Hello again, I found out today that even with birth control I somehow managed to sprout a follie. Now I can't start stims tonight as planned and will have to instead wait this cycle out I'll move over to the Feb board but will be routing for all of you still in it this month!

My journey is likely over, I'm truly shocked and devastated. It looks like none of my many fertilized eggs look good, it will probably be complete failure, RE is puzzled. I'm only 36 and nothing seemingly wrong with me, in fact I stimulated "beautifully", way beyond my RE expectations. I don't know if I have strength to try again. My relationship with my husband is also going down the drain, this extra strain was the last drop, probably...I believe in God and I'm starting to think he just wouldn't allow us to have a baby because our relationship is not stable.. I truly, with all my heart wish you all good luck, it's going to be good for you, I'm just one of the unlucky ones.
@bestofjoy my lovetit is a huge hug! I'm so sorry. This process is an emotional roller coaster and it would be off if it didn't put some strain on your relationship. I hope you are able to take some time for you and yh to reconnect and move forward. It just sucks and that's okay to be devastated for however long you need to be. Sending love your way!

I a to share a story from the previous IVF board I was on and there was a girl that started our month off who went through her cycle and didn't get her bfp. Since she started off the cycle we were still on the same board and she then did an FET the following cycle and is now pregnant with twins almost finishing her first trimester. Things can turn around just like that ladies - good luck!

@bestofjoy so sorry to read your update! I hope you are able to take some time and do something special for yourself. And if your relationship is not working, that definitely needs your attention too. Maybe it's just strained for the enormous amount of stress that infertility creates!! Or maybe there are bigger issues that need fixing. Either way, I wish you the best on your journey!!!
@bestofjoy I'm so so sorry to read this. This process is totally up and down and there isn't any rhyme or reason it seems like. You have to do what's best for you and for your family, hugs and prayers your way for whatever you decide is next for you!

Today I had a monitoring appt after 5 days of stims and after originally seeing 14, today they saw 5. The re I saw said "there's still time we don't need to think about canceling yet" needless to say I left in tears. This was after the nurse had trouble getting bloodwork and overshot my vein then had to fish around for it hurting like hell. Not a great day. I hate what a rollercoaster this process is. My nurse told me I didn't need to worry but easier said than done.
@brela11 that is an awful visit, and i went through the same thing last week, the regular nurse that takes blood was already gone for the day and this other nurse fished around so long that i needed an ice pack on my arm for 2 hours. You think they would have more people that had a delicate touch when we need so many blood test in a week. Monitoring is a roller coaster ride, not to scare you but i went through a cycle where i had disappearing follies and ended up being converted to an IUI, I was horrified with taking all those injections and this is what i ended up with. Its only day 5 and you have a long way to go...you probably had some left over ones and thats why you're numbers went down. Just keep chatting with those follies and get them all nsync best of luck to you! Remember its quality over quantity.

I had my transfer yesterday. A little bummed that we only had 2 at that point that made it to blastocyst. We ultimately decided to just transfer 1 embryo as opposed to 2. The goal was to freeze the other 1. We got a call today that we had some late bloomers and ended up freezing 6 that all made it to blastocyst. I'm feeling hopeful. If this doesn't work this round, we will be putting 2 in for sure next time but hopefully this is it.
@brela11 Be hopeful. Every time I went they counted 10 in each ovary and somehow I ended up with 33 on retrieval day. Anything can happen!
I have been on Lupron for 8 days now and this morning I started to bleed... like a light period...not sure what's going on! this didn't happen with my first cycle. I called my Nurse and left her a message- going to see the Dr tomorrow for my ultrasound check up...feeling nervous!

I'm back. Thanks ladies for the good messages and vibes. While still not great, I got a bit of good news today, after really dark days. One embryo made it to freeze on day 5!! On Day 3 they said all looked really bad, very fragmented/ poor quality but they miraculously turned around. Now a few more could still make it to day 6, so praying hard that I end up with more than 1. What an awful emotional rollercoaster!! A couple of nights ago I ended up going to emergency because of sudden excruciating pains all over my abdomen and stomach. I was in so much pain that I was shouting and not being able to breath. They called my RE and he said it's "just" a very, very big ovary and possibly a cyst that ruptured. I still can barely move after almost a week post ER (so still home) but it's more manageable. I think this is not normal. So you can imagine going through this nightmare physically while knowing it was in vain.
@patricej55 Wohoooo, so glad for you!!! Having 7 embryos is really a beautiful outcome!! That is great news, it's going to be great, praying for you.
Good news and bad news today. Had my baseline. I have a dozen follicles which is the most I've had! Bad news is I have a huge cyst. Of course this is pretty common but not typical for me. So I'm delayed another week, I will have another ultrasound next Friday. If the cyst hasn't gone down they will aspirate it and I will start injections two days after that. I'll delay my vacation time a few days to accommodate the delay. I am a little worried I'll lose some of these follies but doctor told me not to worry.

AFM, it seems that I may be a drama queen with these updates, but I assure you it's not the case, unfortunately. I must have some bad karma following me or something. I've got the excruciating 10/10 pains again earlier today. The worst pain in my life (and I've suffered through endometriomas for a couple of months before, which I thought was the worst). I was alone, unable to move or breathe and with severe nausea. After a while I literally crawled to my car, thinking of going to ER again, and my car wouldn't start. What are the odds? Maybe it was for the better in that state. So I called my RE, barely able to speak, and he told me not to go to ER (they didn't know how to handle post-IVF anyway), that it was another cyst bursting/pressing on my bowels. Now the pain subsided to a 4/10 after taking a mega dose of ibuprofen but holy crap, this is crazy. Now I'm extremely worried of ovarian torsion cause this pain is out of this world. Going in to see him again tomorrow, whether he wants it or not. I needed to travel by plane over the weekend and I'm terrified this could happen again while away...

AFM: Had my appointment today, I've got 15 follies between 10-15mm on the right and 20 on the left! The nurse said that there were also other follies on both sides that just weren't as big, but that they could still catch up to the pack by Monday. I'll find out later today if they want to adjust my meds or keep me at the 150 menopur and 225 follistim.
So I've seen my RE today and other than saying you've got enlarged ovaries and cysts bursting and you'll get more probably since hCG is not out of your system yet, he sent me on my way. He was not willing to call it OHSS (especially since I complained several times before about hyper stimulation concerns), but really, reading online, ovaries above 9cm and severe acute pain from cysts bursting that sent me to ER seem to qualify as moderate OHSS. So, there's that. I'm still in pain to the point of moving very slowly, but mostly in bed. I just hope it won't get worse because it is pretty bad already. We are supposed to get on a plane for a one week vacation, which is now ruined due to me not able to move much.
What size were your ovaries post retrieval, do you know?
However, I also got great news at the same time. 6 more blastocysts made it to freeze, which is REMARKABLE. My RE was really amazed at this result, given the poor quality of the day 3 embryos. Quite a turnaround.

Hey all! Sorry I've not been on here! I was out of the country on vaca with essentially no wifi or very little, so hard to get on the forum. I can't easily go back pages so I'm hoping all went well with cycles and there will be bfps coming! ill catch up when I return to America! quick afm update: suffered horrible moderate ohss (worse than last cycle) so def no fresh transfer. Might get to try an fet in feb depending on my blood work when I return (period started a couple days ago). I think the plan was a mostly natural cycle so might still be possible. If not dh and I will try a natural cycle while we wait... hope all is well with y'all!!!
@dragonette505 Welcome back, we were wondering how you were doing. Moderate OHSS, I think I have this too now, miserable. What were your symptoms? Is it possible to do FET in February with OHSS? I haven't talked yet with my RE, one step at a time. I thought I should wait one cycle to get back to normal. How many blasts did you have and how many are you planning on implanting? I'm waiting for the PGS tests now (praying hard they are good) and my insurance only lets me implant one.
AFM: Monitoring appt today still only showed 5 good follies. 2 more on right and 2 more on left that were still too small. I'm bummed but it is what it is. I am still holding onto hope so I guess that's all that matters. I go back on Tuesday and they are expecting me to trigger Tuesday night then retrieval will be on Thursday.
@brela11 hopefully they'll all be good quality, it only takes one to stick! Im anxiously awaiting tomorrow morning when hopefully my US and bloodwork will be good and I can trigger tomorrow night! So January may be nearly over, but I wanted to jump in with y'all last-minute! My regrets to those of you having a tough month, and fingers crossed for everyone!!!
I had my egg retrieval Thursday (1st IVF, age 39, husband 34, suspected age-related egg quality decline but decent numbers for me and great for him, one 7-wk MC and 3 chemicals after a year of trying - 1st pregnancy was natural/happened quickly, now have 2-y-o son).
We were kinda disappointed by the retrieval outcome - they'd counted 22 follicles at the last ultrasound, but only got 14 eggs in the end, with only 8 mature and 7 fertilized via ICSI. Today they updated us: 6 remain, 5 high quality and 1 decent. We're doing PGS at day 5/6.

As as for me, I'm 6dp5dt today! I couldn't sleep last night, was wide awake at 4 am. I had some mild cramping 2 and 3 days post transfer and a fluttering feeling in my pelvis 3 and 4 days post transfer. I couldn't hold out so I peed on a cheapie and saw a faint line on 4dp5dt. I keep checking each morning and there's still a line and it is getting darker. I'm so scared and nervous! Could this be it? I just have to wait! Beta is on Friday morning.
Good luck to everyone, hope shots shots shots are going well! I'm doing PiO and my butt is looking rough with bruises. Oh well it will all be worth it... ❤

AFM, it seems that I may be a drama queen with these updates, but I assure you it's not the case, unfortunately. I must have some bad karma following me or something. I've got the excruciating 10/10 pains again earlier today. The worst pain in my life (and I've suffered through endometriomas for a couple of months before, which I thought was the worst). I was alone, unable to move or breathe and with severe nausea. After a while I literally crawled to my car, thinking of going to ER again, and my car wouldn't start. What are the odds? Maybe it was for the better in that state. So I called my RE, barely able to speak, and he told me not to go to ER (they didn't know how to handle post-IVF anyway), that it was another cyst bursting/pressing on my bowels. Now the pain subsided to a 4/10 after taking a mega dose of ibuprofen but holy crap, this is crazy. Now I'm extremely worried of ovarian torsion cause this pain is out of this world. Going in to see him again tomorrow, whether he wants it or not. I needed to travel by plane over the weekend and I'm terrified this could happen again while away...

@BestofJoy I'm glad the pain subsided, but wowza that sounds terrible! I hope your visit today gives you some good info on whats going on and that the pain stops!
AFM: Had my appointment today, I've got 15 follies between 10-15mm on the right and 20 on the left! The nurse said that there were also other follies on both sides that just weren't as big, but that they could still catch up to the pack by Monday. I'll find out later today if they want to adjust my meds or keep me at the 150 menopur and 225 follistim.

What size were your ovaries post retrieval, do you know?
However, I also got great news at the same time. 6 more blastocysts made it to freeze, which is REMARKABLE. My RE was really amazed at this result, given the poor quality of the day 3 embryos. Quite a turnaround.

quick afm update: suffered horrible moderate ohss (worse than last cycle) so def no fresh transfer. Might get to try an fet in feb depending on my blood work when I return (period started a couple days ago). I think the plan was a mostly natural cycle so might still be possible. If not dh and I will try a natural cycle while we wait...

Is it possible to do FET in February with OHSS? I haven't talked yet with my RE, one step at a time. I thought I should wait one cycle to get back to normal. How many blasts did you have and how many are you planning on implanting? I'm waiting for the PGS tests now (praying hard they are good) and my insurance only lets me implant one.
Im anxiously awaiting tomorrow morning when hopefully my US and bloodwork will be good and I can trigger tomorrow night! Yesterday I thought I had finally kicked this exhaustion, turns out it was just bc I hadn't gotten off the couch....I went grocery shopping today and felt the need to nap afterwards lol.

I had my egg retrieval Thursday (1st IVF, age 39, husband 34, suspected age-related egg quality decline but decent numbers for me and great for him, one 7-wk MC and 3 chemicals after a year of trying - 1st pregnancy was natural/happened quickly, now have 2-y-o son).
We were kinda disappointed by the retrieval outcome - they'd counted 22 follicles at the last ultrasound, but only got 14 eggs in the end, with only 8 mature and 7 fertilized via ICSI. Today they updated us: 6 remain, 5 high quality and 1 decent. We're doing PGS at day 5/6.

@brela11 As annoying as it is to hear, it really is quality over quantity. Try not to stress out too much about the number...anything could happen on egg retrieval day. I'm rooting for you!

As as for me, I'm 6dp5dt today! I couldn't sleep last night, was wide awake at 4 am. I had some mild cramping 2 and 3 days post transfer and a fluttering feeling in my pelvis 3 and 4 days post transfer. I couldn't hold out so I peed on a cheapie and saw a faint line on 4dp5dt. I keep checking each morning and there's still a line and it is getting darker. I'm so scared and nervous! Could this be it? I just have to wait! Beta is on Friday morning.
