STMs+- are you making a registry for the purpose of getting a discount on your registry completion purchase? If so, what places have the best discounts on registry completion purchase?

I'm doing this too! Haha - ours is at babies r us, but it's only a 10% discount so amazon might be a better bet.

We did Amazon and Babies R Us, only because we're getting a new glider there.  They gave us a 15% discount on the glider or registering for the rewards program, which I wasn't expecting.  Saved a lot!

I do at Amazon and bru.  Honestly it was more for samples as well as the coupon.

I don't have Prime (and don't want to pay for it) so I didn't do amazon.... BRU has 10% and Target has 15% so I did both. I also signed up for Buy Buy Baby exclusively for the gift bag... I removed my registry there later. Between the three gift bags I got some awesome stuff!

We did Target. There's not a ton I need but I do need odds and ends like breast pads, another car mirror, and I threw a stroller on there in the off chance we decide we can afford it.

I did. I made a couple but target is the main one I have.. mostly because it's the most convenient place for us to shop

I'm a FTM but since I decided I didn't want a shower (mainly because I didn't feel like flying back to Jersey where 90% of my friends and family are) I pretty much just created the registry to get the discount :) We did amazon since we buy just about everything on there already and we have prime, so we get 15%.

Thanks everyone! I had no idea amazon and target give 15% off! Who does the gift bags besides buy buy baby?

we need a new crib mattress and the one we want is pricey and amazon has it!

I've read that Target does gift bags if you have a registry. You just go to customer service and tell them you have a registry and they give you a gift bag. Though I haven't gone into my target to see if it's legit.

Target, buy buy baby, and babies r us all give gift bags. And Target sends really good coupons after you register.

I'm in the process of completing my Amazon registry for the welcome box myself. Good to know about target! I have a registry there too.

I keep telling myself that I need to do this. Hopefully this thread will be my motivation to do it today!

I did target for my first, but never picked up the welcome bag...sounds like I need to do that this time!

Also not everything on Amazon is eligible for the completion discount. Like diapers and books. And I think baby clothes.

I tried to get my Amazon welcome basket but they are trying to charge $35.  I've already ordered off the registry and it says it's available.  What am I missing?

@LittleChick2 Yay! Thanks for the sneak peek of the gift bag at Target! I'll pick mine up at some point (haha) and update with what I got if it's any different.

@HGRich yeah I was having that trouble too..  I already have a bunch and by fluke I realized I could check things off.. so I figured I'd check to see if it upped my completed percentage when I checked things off.. and it worked.

@cafedisco @catem07 it didn't show itself zeroed out at checkout for me but I'm hoping it will simply
not charge my card. If it does, Amazon customer service is awesome so I'm sure they'll fix it. I did think that was weird though since all my boxes were checked and I clicked "claim now." We shall see. Excited to see what's in it.

ETA cancelled the order and re-did it. This time it showed a zero balance so I don't know what happened the first time. All these rules for free stuff. At least walking into target and asking will be easier.  :D

Got my target bag today, which is what was described here. Also did amazon and got the welcome box. We registered at BRU for the last two. Can't recall a good welcome gift though. My kids liked registering for things!

We did BRU yesterday. Welcome bag included bottle of water, Mam bottle and pacifier, a breastfeeding starter pack from Twist, and coupons! We used the $5 off purchase of $25 before we left the store. Couldn't let it go to waste!  ;)

I have a small registry at Target.  It was more so I could remember everything I want to buy over the next few months.   :D

Totally doing Target and Amazon registry again. We have out of town relatives that want to do a little something for baby #2 since they will not be able to meet her soon. The ship to home gift options are the best. Just a few items but, I want all new pump parts and that can add up. Also, doing a few more MAM bottles and pacifiers along with a new set of reusable baby food pouches. They are amazing! Amazon will give you 30 for 25$.

I'm late to the party, but yes - we did it for Target and Amazon. Target has caps out the shopping cart at 20 items I think, and Amazon lets you use the discount (15% for Prime Members) for up to $5,000 in merchandise (nice, but I don't plan to spend that much for the second).

Well this exercise has made me realize we need a few more things than I had realized. I am glad I asked this question.

@MWoodside I started one at target today and quickly realized the same thing!

FTM but I totally missed out on the Target registry welcome bag! Going to have to go pick one of those up because it looks way better than BRU.  I don't have a Prime account so not eligible for Amazon one. Thinking about getting one though.....

I got an amazon discount with DD.  Does anyone know if I can get another discount if I create a new registry this time? I know you can only get the welcome box once.

@pammasu0909 I think so. When I changed the dates on mine to make it for this baby, it gave me the popup that my completion discount would be available 60 days before the due date. I guess I'll be able to let you know for sure in about 24 days, haha. I keep meaning to email customer service to confirm.

@schef070911 You can still do an Amazon registry. If you're not prime, the only difference is that you're completion coupon is only 10% off instead of 15%.

@SnarkasaurusRex I do have an Amazon registry, just not on an account that uses Prime. I thought you had to be a Prime member to be eligible for their registry completion box?

@schef070911 Oh, you might have to be for the welcome box; I'm not sure. I misread your comment as not being able to get a completion coupon and not the welcome box. ;)
