I also find it interesting that it got shut down due to the OP's assertion of bullying. There were a few eyerolls / "snark" from posters, but so many women took time to post long comments, more than the dismissals.
FWIW (since I'm going all serious), it IS true that communities aren't for everyone. BC was a disaster, IMO, but TB has been great. It fits my personality. I like structure and organization. I like talking to people who are going to vaccinate their children because I like science. So, if that's not you, maybe go somewhere else?
