I apologize I have been MIA for a while now. 2 kids keep me busy. We have decided not to find out the sex but love to look at ramzi/Chinese predictor etc. Curious to see what you gals think of my ultrasound - trasvaganal.
It is okay, I have been around for a while on these boards. If people want to slam me, that is fine. I posted this for fun. Either way, it doesn't matter to me if I have a boy or girl, as long as he or she is healthy.

I mean, the most important info is labeled on the ultrasound. Where it says "baby" (rather than "puppy" or "unicorn"). What more do you really expect us to know, for "fun" or otherwise?
Yeah, I don't get what's fun about this? The only person that *might* be fun for is you. Also, thanks for coming back after being MIA only to contribute this.

@meilay Yes, but what kind of baby? Our pedi asked my daughter if the baby in my tummy was a shark (which would live in the bathtub). I'm thinking that he would have helpful perspective here too.
And now I'm questioning his whole scientific background - sharks don't give birth to live young, do they?
We should cut her some slack because she's busy. None of us know anything about that. Plus, we should be thankful because she was just trying to be "fun". None of us can entertain ourselves with you know, our own ultrasounds.

This clarified why I haven't been around, I may have forgotten how nice these boards are. Best of luck to all of you on your pregnancies all of you who cared to comment.

Stuck in quote box: Some sharks do actually! I've seen it on Wild Kratts.
So ACTUAL Ramzi theory is based on the direction of blood flow in the placenta, not placental placement, and it is only a GUESS, which would be 50% accurate regardless. Random online forums and sites have changed this to interpret it as the side the placenta implants on rather than the direction of blood flow, which are two different things. Even if placental placement WAS enough to guess based on this theory, (a) an 8 week ultrasound is too early - the placenta is still in the process of permanently implanting at that point, (b) without asking your tech what angle this picture is taken from, you wouldn't be able to tell which side was the left or right of your uterus, and (c) without asking your tech whether their ultrasound machine shows true image or mirror image, you wouldn't be able to tell which side was the left or right of your uterus. So all of this is a moot point.
If you are a June '17 mom, you should be about in the anatomy scan window now. At that scan genitals have formed and in most cases a tech or your doctor can actually tell you the sex of your baby if you want to know. If you don't want to know, that's cool, but why ask strangers to guess for you? Actually why ask strangers to guess for you regardless, the chances of any of us being ultrasound techs that know what we're looking at better than your actual ultrasound tech are pretty slim. What was the baby's heart rate at your first appointment? Using the "theory" that faster HB means a girl is just as accurate as Ramzi theory: 50%. So if you want to make assumptions based on nonsense, maybe just go with that instead.
lurking from May... @flyingncmama & @danijo: Yes to sharks and live births. Just saw this on CNN: Zebra sharks lay eggs but apparently don't need the male! (Just imagine...)
The most annoying part of pregnancy to me is people trying to guess the sex of my baby. I just don't get others asking strangers to do this.
Thank you! ❤️
I find it super annoying, too! I have a long list of reasons why I find out the sex of our babies but this is high on the list! I don't want to go another 20 weeks of hearing people's guesses. And then when they were right to say "I knew it!!" as if they actually knew something.

Ok so this is what you need to do.... search the old world wide web for wives tales. Conduct your experiments carefully. Make sure to not your hypothesis for how these said experiments will turn out. Carefully document your findings and then write a paper based on your findings. Then take your data and plot it on some graphing paper and let us know which way the trend is going...... BAM that's what you're having!

Can't express how tired I am of getting blank looks when I explain that (fraternal) twins are a 50% chance of being boy/girl and 25% chance each of being same sex. From my calculations, most people didn't make it past 7th grade.

My favorite is the people who tell you that they are right [whatever] percent of the time. Like I am going to weigh your guess more heavily because you say you have an 85% success rate.
My dad claims he used to work with an ob back in the day before reliable ultrasounds who would tell all expectant parents that he thought their baby was a boy, then write "girl" in their chart. Then after the baby was born he would point out that he had been right, either relying on their memory if him saying boy or on the proof in their chart that he had guessed girl ("You must have remembered wrong! See, right here!") He was always right.

Also, OP, fortunately with an ultrasound that early no one is going to be able to tell you anything.
What is the Ramzi theory?

Ramzi theory doesn't determine the sex. It guesses one of two sexes based on some made up bullshit.
