*** Second Tri will need a new leader starting January 23rd ***
This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility".
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, please let me know and I will add you.
Mommies to be:
@kelrauh EDD 5/14/17 with 1 boy and 1 girl!
QOTW: What has been the best pregnancy symptom you've had so far?

Re: 2nd Tri Check In Week of January 9th
My three littles and I are 26+2 today. I'm still hoping to make it to March 10th, but realistically know that they could come at any time. I'm really hoping they wait at least another three weeks so I can go to my baby shower! I've been feeling mostly okay, but the last several evenings I start to feel really uncomfortable and have a hard time finding a good position to sit in. As I am nearing full term size I totally understand, but it's still a bit unpleasant. I don't have an appointment this week, which is a super bummer as I should have one, but I go to see my new MFM next Tuesday!
QOTW: I'd definitely have to say my hair. Because of having PCOS, prepregnancy my hair was super thin and a ton fell out every time I showered. Since getting pregnant I hardly lose any hair, like 3-4 strands vs 50+, and when I pull it back into a ponytail you can't see my scalp anymore!

FET cycle #3 Transfer July 28th 2016, Triplets born healthy on February 26th 2017 at 33w1d!
17 weeks w/ twin boys. EDD 06/14/17 (though likely late May). Saw my OB last week, everything looks fine though we didn't get to listen to the heartbeats which bummed me out for some reason. I don't have another appointment for a month and then I have 3: OB, fetal echocardiogram, and anatomy scan.
Question: how long do you ladies spend waiting at your OB appointments. I've met w/ my OB twice and each time Ive waited 45-60 min before I've been seen, so basically my say 1pm appointment really starts at 2pm. It makes me so mad. Do people find the long wait normal? W/ my RE appointments I was usually seen in 15-20 min. I wonder if I should change OBs but then again it might not make a difference.
QOTW:I like my shiny hair! LOL.

other than that drama i see my ob next friday, nothing else new an exciting this week. DH and I are going on a mini vaca to Foxwoods for two nights later this week so maybe a good jackpot will make everything better
QOTW: not really a symptom but more of a result....DH cleans the cat box....i was planning on doing it even tho you aren't supposed to but i had planned on mask and gloving it. its my cat, my responsibility. plus she is an indoor cat so the chances she has the bacteria that i haven't already been exposed to is much less. After he came with me to my first OB visit with the nurse and she practically yelled at him this is one thing he grunts through for me.

QOTW: My nails, I was never able to grow out my nails to any decent length and now I have to keep trimming them or they start to annoy me with how long they are.
@AandDM2014 I agree with the hair, I've noticed almost no hair in the drain lately, and it used to be a lot! And can you please add me to the list?

FET cycle #3 Transfer July 28th 2016, Triplets born healthy on February 26th 2017 at 33w1d!
I am 26+1 today! Baby is the size of Kale... whatever that means lol. Had my glucose tolerance test on Friday. It was in the morning, so I wasn't too hungry and the drink just tasted like a non-carbonated SunKist. Not too bad! I should find out results today or tomorrow. During exam portion doctor measured my belly (right on track) and did doppler (strong heartbeat!). Baby started swatting at the doppler within seconds... could actually see the doppler moving with the force of his/her punches and kicks! So cute and funny! I love my little bug.
Downside - doc says she only wants me gaining 7 more lbs... for the rest of my pregnancy! YIKES. I'm wearing pre-prego clothing and really don't feel any bigger other than my belly... but the scale doesn't lie! Hubby's side is notorious for big babies, so maybe that's the weight gain? Not sure, but daily exercise and cleaner eating start today (been bad over the holidays!).
QOTW: I am so happy all the time! Whenever I have any downtime, I just think about how lucky I am and how much I'm going love on this baby! There's no longer a cloud hanging over me and I'm just all smiles. I love my bump and the movement of my little guy/gal!

3 failed IUIs Dec '15 - Feb '16

Lawson arrived on 4/24/2017 at 7lbs 15oz, 21 1/2 inches long!
Surprise pregnancy!! Baby #2 due 10/11/18
It snowed here on Saturday and NC is horrible about clearing roads so I've been pretty much house bound all weekend. I'm hoping the roads will be better tomorrow so that I can work, but already half my clients have canceled for tomorrow. So I may just be stuck around the house again. I'm getting cabin fever, but I've spent all this downtime planning the nursery and pinning things like crazy! I could seriously spend hours upon hours at a time doing this, but eventually my eyes start to hurt!
We had our sex reveal party on Saturday evening with those of our family/friends that were brave and faced the snowy weather. So now everyone knows about our sweet little girl and I just loved watching all their expressions when they found out! Both my family and DH's family all knew that 75% of our day 5 embryos were boys, so they were all expecting and had already planned for us to have a boy. We let my MIL cut the cake since we already knew the sex, and her response to seeing the pink color was, "Oh! Oh! Oh! Oh!!!!" It was amazing.
My next appointment is on the 19th, then we leave for our Disney baby moon (21st-27th), then we have our fetal echo on the 31st. Lots of excitement coming up!
@AandDM2014 I will happily take over the thread for you, but I will be at Disney the week of the 23rd... not sure how easy it will be for me to create a check-in that week. If someone can do it just that week, I'm happy to take over the following week!
@JaneJane The wait time varies at my offices. I go to my OB for regular prenatals and to MFM for ultrasounds. I've never waited longer than 15 minutes at the MFM but the OB can take anywhere from 15 minutes to an hour. I loathe waiting too. If it took an hour each time I probably would look for another doctor...
@rmarble23 Oh how annoying! I hate when I am inconvenienced due to others' mistakes, but I guess that's part of life! You will be good at 18 weeks though, don't worry. I was 18+5 at my anatomy scan and they saw everything just fine.
@mjacks16 Yay, welcome to 2nd tri!
@babylonghorn16 Glad the glucose test wasn't so bad! Hope you get good results soon! Ugh, good for you for the clean eating, but I hope you don't stress about the weight gain too much. Everyone is so different, and doctors make a HUGE fuss about weight gain during pregnancy. No matter what you do, some people just gain way more than others. A good friend of mine just gave birth to a healthy baby on Dec 28th and her weight gain was so off the charts. But mom and baby are completely healthy! Her doctor sure tried to scare her about it though.
QOTW: Does feeling movement count? I feel like I'm on cloud 9 all the time because my little lady is super active! Especially after I eat, first thing in the morning, and in the evenings. Late morning and afternoons are a little slower, but I still feel her from time to time then too. Best feeling in the ENTIRE world!!!
Question for the group: where did you/are you planning to buy your nursery furniture from? There are so many options out there that I'm getting overwhelmed! Also could be that I've had way too much time to internet browse.

@babylonghorn16 after my apt on Friday and seeing what I've gained I'm limiting my weight gain to 10lb more and that's it. We have big babies in my family as well so I'm definitely attributing some of those added pounds to baby.

I'm 23+3 today and cannot wait to be 24 weeks on Friday! Woo hoo! I have a regular OB appointment Wednesday and then our fetal echo on Thursday. I am really looking forward to seeing our little guy again. We are bringing DS with us so that he can see "baby brother" - he is so excited!
My big news is that I'm finally off diclegis! Some of the nausea is still there, but it's good to be off of that medication. It made my fatigue about 10 times worse.
QOTW: This is a tough question for me, since it's been such a rough ride so far. I do like feeling him move around so much - he's been so active that I've felt him since about 13.5 weeks! That is probably my favorite part of this pregnancy. Even with the really unpleasant symptoms, I get a kick from him and can't help but smile.

I'm super excited to graduate to this board this week! I'm 14 weeks 3 days @mjacks16 and am also EDD on the 8th July (I'm in New Zealand so I'm a day ahead!).
I met with my midwife yesterday and I'm super low risk for my NT results and we got to hear the heartbeat for the first time!! All going well I now don't have any appointments for a month!
Now I'm officially in the second trimester and starting to struggle to hide the belly I'm building up the confidence to tell work. I know they will be fine with it but I'm terrified about the entire (almost all female) workplace wanting to talk to me! I'm so excited to finally be pregnant but I'm still so worried that something will go wrong that it's hard to be excited talking to people who don't understand infertility and why I might be paranoid.
QOTW: I'm not sure I've found a favourite symptom yet but I'm loving seeing the back of morning sickness! I feel like a fog has lifted. I'm sure a new fog will descend soon enough but I'm enjoying this while it lasts!
Edited because my tag disappeared.
This is my last week on the second trimester board- I am 27 weeks and 4 days with EDD 4/6 of one precious little girl! We had our first birthing class this weekend and overall we feel pretty good about labor and delivery-part 2 is next weekend.
@wifeinraleigh28 love the cake and especially the candied nuts or no nuts reference -that was great!
@rmarble23 we had our anatomy scan (by accident) at 17weeks and had to go back 4 weeks later for a repeat to get her heart as they couldn't evaluate well on the scan. when we had checked out after our NT scan DH and I alerted the receptionist we didn't really know when we were supposed to come back and the receptionist was the one who told us it was "usually in 4 wks". Glad my insurance covered it or I would have been upset....sorry you have to wait another few weeks, that must have been disappointing today
@BlueEyedDreamer congrats on getting of the nausea meds! That must be such a relief!
QOTW: As far as symptoms, I have to say I am loving the boobs, I am normally very flat chested, think A cup only because as an adult I feel buying a training bra is inappropriate lol Now I fit into a C cup- only wish they weren't so tender so DH could enjoy as well

No appointments for me this week. I have my final '4 weeks apart' appointment next week, then it's on to every 2 weeks.
I feel like I've had every single pregnancy symptom they make, but none too strongly. At various times, I've had extreme sense of smell, nausea, fatigue, severe dry mouth (at night), dry skin, restless legs, heartburn, facial redness and unhappy skin, leg cramping, bleeding gums, bloating, sacroiliac joint pain, a worsening of my hip dysplasia and probably more things I can't think of off the top of my head. The only one I am enjoying is the 'feeling baby move'. We had a hard time believing this pregnancy was really real, so it's nice to have constant feedback reminding me that there is somebody in there growing bigger every day!
All in all, though, I don't think I'm having a difficult pregnancy at all. Just getting a taste of all the different things that can happen to a pregnant body along the way. I guess I haven't had any stretch marks, but that's about it. Other than the hip pain, I'm pretty OK with everything.

The best is definitely feeling little kicks once in a while. But I also love my big boobs and my horrible neck/arm eczema has totally cleared up which is awesome.

QOTW: I'm really loving my bump! I wasn't quite sure how I'd feel about gaining weight but it's been amazing. I do have to say that I'm so jealous of those of you that can feel the baby. I haven't been able to yet. My OB said it may not be until 20 weeks or more, but I'm dying to. I also wish my boobs would grow more

In the past, when on vacation at a hotel/VRBO that ends up not having a really nice quality mattress (my hips are picky....), I would take max doses of tylenol or ibuprofen just before bedtime, then another dose when I woke up overnight, and try to sleep on my back with a pillow behind my knees. Can't sleep on my back anymore, so that idea is out. Plus, I am avoiding medications in general during this pregnancy, so I'm just gonna tough it out. I figure that this way, by the time baby is here I will be totally used to sleepless nights and it won't be such a difficult transition

I have been in my own little world the past couple weeks planning for these two little ones. I have picked out all of our registry and nursery items. We picked names (Cecilia and Patrick) and our family guessed them so everyone now knows, but we haven't gotten anyone's opinion in a bad way. We also have been calling around to daycares to get on their wait lists. Our top choice told us today that it looks promising and she is half the price as others so we are praying it works out but it is too early to know for sure.
I am having two showers. They will be at 27 and 28 weeks. We are having them early since we are having twins and have to travel a couple hours for one of them.
QOTW: my favorite symptom has definitely been my belly. I love feeling them. I make sure to spend time at night just laying in bed talking to them and taking it all in. I never thought I would like being pregnant, but I love it. The past few weeks I haven't been able to get over my excitement and the love I have for these babies so I have been in a great mood.

I've officially reached the "ravenous" portion of pregnancy. I was just driving home with a take-out zucchini pizza in the front seat (congratulating myself for not getting a chocolate shake at the burger place next door) when I passed an Indian place and wanted SO BAD to stop in for curry and samosas. By the time I got home I was battling a (tragic, impossible) sushi craving.
This middle stretch of pregnancy has been admittedly really nice. I can tell some discomfort is right around the corner, but for now am enjoying feeling the baby wiggling around, the indulgent hunger, the clear skin, and the ALMOST-but-not-quite normal energy levels.
I go back to my OB on Feb 6,- which feels like a lifetime away- but it is just for a normal OB visit. He told me to enjoy the break because after 20 weeks, the sonograms increase. With twins, he will be doing more scans than a single pregnancy to ensure that both babies are growing at the same rate. He said it to me almost as if he was preparing me for the annoying visits- but little did he know that I would welcome a sonogram weekly if I could lol. After going through IF, I LOVE seeing my babies- it makes me feel more confident in my pregnancy and allows me to enjoy it fully!

@cato99 - I have also hit that point of loving food. I cannot get full no matter how much I eat. Unfortunately, I am craving sweets so I have to limit how much I fulfill that urge. I had only gained 2 lbs up until 15 weeks and then the hunger hit and I gained 10lbs in 2 weeks.

AFM, I'm nervous for my OB appointment today. I've strangely lost about 1.5-2 lbs since I came off diclegis a week ago, and I'm worried they are not going to like that. I've been eating smaller meals, as I get nauseous if I eat much more than that. I really don't want to go back on the meds, but I will do whatever they say to keep my baby boy healthy and growing!

I'm officially 24 weeks today. Viability! Which with my incompetent cervix and cerclage surgery at 18 weeks is such a huge relief...
I had my check-up on Monday and everything looks great with our little girl. My cervix was slightly shorter than last time (3cm as opposed to 3.2), and my doc was giving me a lecture on how I'm not taking it easy enough. I don't know how I could be less active than I am now... I've made it my personal goal to keep her inside until week 37 at least! Then they remove cerclage and we let nature take its course. So still a long road ahead but we shall get there.
My glucose test is my next appointment on the 22nd Jan and they will prob also do the Dtap shot then. Anyone else getting that already too? I'll be 25w5d then.
@BlueEyedDreamer sorry the nausea is continuing. I hope your doctor can give you some peace of mind about the weight loss.

@colleen0516 welcome! I know how big of a relief it is to finally make it over onto this board. I did a sneak peak sex u/s at 15 weeks at my local 3D place. I think we paid $50 and got a disk of all the images she captured. It was such a nice setting for dh and I to find out the sex. Hopefully you can find a place like that near you.
