Hi! I know we all go through a lot of hard stuff during our incredible journeys, but I'm wondering how many of you have experienced HG (hyperemesis gravidarum) in the past or now?
I had it in my last pregnancy, and it was terrible! I couldn't move, couldn't turn my head, couldn't speak, couldn't swallow without throwing up! And throwing up did little to nothing in relieving my nausea! And then there was the dehydration, the fainting, the dizziness, and the lack of nutrition, the constant trips to the hospital for IV fluids and nutrition. I basically couldn't function. It lasted me the entire pregnancy although it did ease up a little in my last trimester.
This time around,I thought I didn't seem as nauseous: I only threw up once or twice a day, even though I did spend a lot of time in bed nauseous. However, over the last few days,I am finding a lot of HG symptoms returning. My nausea is increasing and I haven't been able to keep anything down. I am only 7+3 but I have lost 7 pounds in the last week and a half. I'm so scared this is happening again! My first appt is on Friday...
Sorry this post was so long, but I desperately would like to connect to those of you who can relate!
Any other experiences/vents? Anyone else going through this terrible thing called HG?
Re: HG mamas
Right now I am on the max dosage of diclectin and last Friday added Gravol on top of that per my dr. It seems to be helping because the other day I went a whole day with no vomiting for the first time since like 5 weeks.
I am 10 weeks now and in the past it has pretty much disappeared around 20 weeks so I feel like I'm at the halfway point even though I guess I'm only 1/3 of the way through it since I started around 5 weeks.
