Hi ladies!
I know I've been MIA lately but you wouldn't believe everything that has been going on. So when I went to the doctor on Wednesday, I explained to him that I lost part of what I thought was my mucus plug earlier that morning. I'm 32 weeks and he didn't act terribly concerned. Just said he was going to have me come for NST tests twice a week for the rest of the pregnancy. Well now, and I'm sorry if it's TMI, the mucus is brownish and smells like blood. There's other stuff going on as far as my water feels like it's leaking too. I've had a crap pregnancy and the ladies at the hospital always make me feel like I come there for no reason so should I just wait for Monday and call the doctor or just go see the mean old ladies at the hospital?
Re: Mucus Plug
If you think you're leaking fluid, I would definitely go in. I think there is a test they can give you to confirm whether it is amniotic fluid or not.

as PPs have also advised--call the nurse line or OB on call and ask their advice!
AND--I agree! You've had a rough time these past months. If you have any desire to go get checked out: GO! No one should make you feel silly for that! If you need reassurance all is normal-you deserve it.

I'm so sorry that you're having to deal with this. Sending more creepy internet hugs your way.
I'm hoping you get a call back but if you don't and if you don't feel like things are right I would go with what your gut is telling you to do.

when I went into labor with DS, the initial reactions I had from the dr on call and the hospital staff was that they thought I was overreacting that I thought my water had broken. Once they tested my fluid they found that it was amniotic fluid. They put a belt on me to monitor contractions - it didn't register any and once again the hospital staff did not believe I was having them. I had to push to have a dr check me. Once they finally got someone in I was 5 cm dilated and needed an emergency c section right then as he was breech. I'm not trying to scare you but you are your biggest advocate and know your body. If it's not amniotic fluid then thank God! But you should never feel like this when it comes to the health of you and your baby. Do what you feel is right.
BUT! I'm so so glad that you had better treatment! hope your weekly ultrasound brings you some comfort!
