Let's get physical!

What are everybody's workout plans looking like?  I do Crossfit, run and also yoga.  With Crossfit the only thing I have scaled is box jump ups to step ups.  I will not modify anything else until my belly grows or until it seems uncomfortable.  Running I probably will not start up again till Spring unless we get a warm day here or there this winter and my yoga teacher is already modifying poses for me.  She has been SUPER anal about no forward bends to leave room for the baby and no using my abs.  I wonder what she will think if I tell her I am still doing ab crunches at Crossfit?!

Woooowwww I had so much more typed and it deleted it all :( I was just saying if I keep fit hopefully my chances for a successful VBAC will be better. I gained 76 pounds last pregnancy and have only lost 60, I think exercise would be a good idea! Want to do it right this pregnancy.

I've been working out at the gym in my office. I try to do strength 3 or 4 times a week and cardio (usually the elliptical or walking hills on the treadmill). Hoping to keep it up! I really want to stay as healthy as I can

I did a body boot camp my last pregnancy, but with a little one around and a husband who is always at work, I had to find an alternative. I just started at Koko FitClub this past week and I love it! The workouts are super short and my club key tells me exactly what to do so there is no wasted time. They gave me a meal plan and everything I need to be successful in my weight goals.

I like to do plyometrics at home- 21 Day Fix Extreme, Insanity:Max 30, etc.  The jumping is too intense for pregnancy, so I'm going to do more low-key strength training and yoga. I did Active Maternity on Beachbody on Demand this morning and enjoyed it.

I crossfit also.  I stopped during fertility treatments (2 months) and decided to go back this past Monday after I saw my HCG levels were rising beautifully.  Unfortunately, during my first WOD back I sprained my ankle (stepped off a box and lost my footing).  Once I can apply pressure and am more mobile, I'll probably go back and modify like crazy.

I'm a runner...well triathlete really. My last pregnancy, I ran until 36 weeks and swam until the day before I delivered! Biking got hard for me quick so don't think I'll be doing much of that past the first trimester. I'm hoping to be a little less crazy this time around and listen to my body a little bit more!

I also thought this was some sort of sex thread because let's get real pregnancy sex can be craaaazzzyyyyy (bad or good). Slightly bummed.
All jokes aside I am wanting to really at least walk/jog a lot throughout this pregnancy to keep my weight in check, to help build stamina, and to hopefully not have to be induced from going 8 days over my due date.

I'm with you. Totally thought this was about sex also.

I am trying to be more active though. My goal is to make my dogs get up and be active with me. They currently would prefer watching TV on the couch to going for a run. So hopefully we can both exercise more. I definitely don't want to gain too much weight with this pregnancy.

I'm a yogi and will continue doing hot power and vinyasa yoga a few times a week until I no longer have balance. For my first pregnancy, I stopped at 35 weeks and desperately missed it.

Anyone looking to start exercise?  I was planning to start on Jan 1 (you know, with the rest of the world) and found out I was pregnant Dec 31st.  I know it's okay to continue what you've been doing, but not sure if it's okay to start now?

@MrsCancel14 I'd take it easy -- maybe long walks or just light exercise. You don't want to stress your body out with something completely new.

This. You're body is working really hard right now as is growing that precious little being, going from sedentary to crossfir probably wouldn't be a great idea. Maybe even try some pregnancy yoga or Pilates, I want to say you could find some of these videos on you tube

I certainly wasn't thinking crossfit or anything that strenuous, haha.  I was thinking more along the lines of what you mentioned, pregnancy yoga or something similar.  Im not planning to try get fit and toned throughout pregnancy, but I would like to stay as healthy as possible.

I was lucky enough to run all through my last pregnancy! I'm hopeful I can do the same with this one but my running has been so sporadic with having a little one around that I'm worried I won't be able to continue running. FX I can as I know that will help me be I shape for labor, keep me sane, and help keep my weight in check.

With my first pregnancy I went to the gym all through winter, and kept up on my running routine throughout spring and summer. I also swam at the local pool all through my third trimester. I'd like to do the same thing this time around (first time around only gained 19 pounds and had a healthy DD at 38 weeks naturally). However, with a little one now, I don't see any of this happening without some help. Its so hard to send her to daycare after I just got home from work! I might have to do some at home workouts to get me through the winter.

My doctors want me to be as physical as possible and not gain an ounce of weight if possible due to my history of preeclampsia.  I just started Yoga (OMG its so hard) before I even found out I was preggers.  I plan to continue with that.  I also do strength training and kickboxing.

The only exercising I ever really do right now is intermediate difficulty mountain biking with a sprinkle of ramps, drops and jumps. With the exception of taking the stairs at work.

I'm going to need to re-evaluate things now though as I truly don't want to put myself and baby at risk. I'll probably still ride some flat trails every now and then but I'm not about to go flying over any dirt jumps anytime soon.

My problem with most exercise is that I am less likely to do it if I am not having fun. I need to find something that I enjoy so that I'll be able to motivate myself to do it.

I am an avid runner and triathlete as well as a USAT certified coach. I ran until 32 weeks and was still going to spin class through 30 weeks with my last pregnancy.

I'm registered for a March half marathon that I fully intend to run, so I'll be training for that. Our treadmill is currently out of commission and I lost gym access when we moved, so I'll be running outside in the snow all winter and riding my bike trainer.

In other words I am business as usual, pregnancy be damned.

The rule of thumb is to continue what your current exercise routine is but not to start anything new, up frequency or intensity, etc. Hate to say it but I'd keep it very low key if I was you.

I just got Jillian Michaels' new book which is about pregnancy.  It has a workout plan in it that looks pretty good.  When I'm being good about working out, I use her videos a lot.  I haven't read the whole thing yet, but I'm going to try to incorporate the weight training routine from the book into my schedule.  I've always seen decent results from her workouts.

@MyNamesTaken I just looked up her book and ordered it! I've also used some of her routines in the past and they've always been just the right amount of challenging for me.

@SunshineDays It's good so far! A lot about organic food and artificial colours/flavours/sweeteners which isn't realistic for my life, but an ideal to work toward I guess! I'm most interested in the workouts for prenatal and postpartum and some of the general nutrition info. My office gym has a trainer come in a few times a week for group classes so I'm going to do JM workouts on days she's not there and possibly on the weekends.
