@sleepyrn I am waiting for the call from the nurse today! Hoping I can trigger today or tomorrow for Saturday or Sunday ER!
@lin&say I am feeling fine, bruised on my stomach from all the injections but aside from that I have, luckily, been feeling fine! How about you?? I love following you on instagram by the way
@kaylaJ thats super exciting!! Good luck with the stims!

UUGGHHHH my RE's office was supposed to have faxed over my prescriptions on Dec 28....I hadn't heard from them for delivery/payment, so I called today. They hadn't called b/c they didn't receive the fax and had no idea what I was talking about. I know that it won't take long to get the meds once they get the fax, but its annoying that I spent 30 minutes on the phone trying to figure it out lol.
I did find out that I'll get to start stims on Jan 22 and we're shooting for ER the week of January 30th (probably Feb 1, 2, or 3 depending on how I react to the stims). Having actual dates for this makes it all feel real and a little overwhelming all of a sudden.
So I have 9 and 8 follicles that are now "up to size" (whatever that means), waiting on the call from my nurse to tell me if I trigger today or have to go back tomorrow for another ultrasound. All I know is my scrubs feel tight and I have zero desire to go lift patients at work, so the sooner the better to get this ER out of the way. I did not have to stim this long last time, so this different protocol is not my favorite. I'll be happy if I get better results, but it just feels like this is taking forever this time around.

sleepyrn I'm sorry that you feel so uncomfortable! It would be really hard to have an active job during this process I think. Those #'s sound good though, so hopefully when it's all over you'll have good results!

Hi all, joining this group even though I already had my retrieval Jan 3rd. I have some frozen embryos but have to wait for PGD testing setup, so transfer isn't likely until March or April (if I'm lucky!).
@caseyw8784, sounds like we are in a similar boat. I didn't actually know about our need for PGD until after my 1st retrieval, when our genetic testing results came back. Turns out my husband and I are both carriers for the same very rare genetic disorder (that nobody has ever heard of), giving us a 25% chance of passing it on. It took forever to get in all of the things the lab needed! Now they're finally in the process of setting up the test. GL, sounds like you are moving forward soon!
As for what to eat and drink before the retrieval, I only got the advice to drink gatorade/eat salt afterwards, not before. I think the salt draws fluid from your ovaries? I don't know. I just do it because my RE says to.
Discomfort level following retrieval-- I was fine the day afterward the first two times. This time I still feel kind of crappy two days later, but I could go to work if I had to (but I don't! Snow day!). I had a few more eggs this last time, so maybe that's why. I imagine it can be very different for different people, but that was my experience.

@IfYouCanDreamIt my next scan is tomorrow! eeek! Please let us know how it went today (if you haven't already... I'm behind on my reading and replying!) Lin&say Honestly its always so hard to tell in the middle of a cycle how its gonna turn out... cycle before last my doc was so optimistic right before retrieval and it was horrible! This last one we were like...hopefully just more than last time and it was a bumper crop... no way of knowing till they aspirate all those follies @sleepyrn have you gotten a trigger day set? @klake42 UGH! that sux! Estrogen totally bloats me too!
@JuliaGoolia719 UGH! I had a similar thing this cycle... normally I have never had an issue with getting my meds and this go round was just messier. Most meds are shipped overnight (because they must be refrigerated) so honestly you can get them in a snap... you'll be all set by the time you start stims
@nikkilegare OMG! I'm so jelly... I feel like they will make me stim forever and a day! lol by the time ER is scheduled I'm soooo done with my huge ovaries
@sleepyrn that's a great number... often when you trigger a couple more get their act together, so you will end up with more than you think
@kangastein yup! definitely looking better (so far) than same time last cycle! How are you feeling? I've been popping over to check you guys progress on the old thread!
@mandasand and @JuliaGoolia719 I also have my baseline u/s on 1/17 and am slated to start injections on the 22nd (with ER beginning of February).
RE has me on AndroGel and bc now. I think the testosterone is winning based on the zits on my face. I also think I'm already on poor responder protocol (I get to pay for more drugs - quantity and variety - will also use omnitrope off label) because of my age (39) and how I responded when I froze eggs with another RE who doesn't take insurance when I turned 35 (two and a half years before I met my husband - only got 9 mature - and those are last resort). *sigh* I think the hormones are really affecting me already.
Good luck to everyone this month!!

Question for everyone. I am very much wanting to take a few days off around my ER. I have my baseline 1/16 and start stims on 1/21. How the hell do I figure out when my ER might possibly be??? My employers and staff know that I am undergoing IVF but they're doing that fake supportive thing and I can tell that I am annoying them with last minute time off requests. Should I just wait until 1/25 and get a better idea of how I'm progressing? If I'm being totally honest I am very much looking forward to taking a little time!

Hi ladies, Exciting to see everyone progressing! I am unbelievably jealous of your progress. AF was supposed to be here on 12/29 and still hasn't shown up yet! I was expecting to start stimming around 1/20 but it looks like my date keeps getting pushed back. I am torn because I'd really like to take some progesterone for 4-5 days and see if it will get me to start my period. So annoying that for the last year my cycles have been 22-24 days and the one time I am excited for my short cycle, I end up being a week late. Hopefully af just shows up soon and I won't have to worry about it and can join you guys! Good luck to everyone starting their stims! FX everyone has great responses and lots of good follicles!

@artemis618 do you know what your protocol is called? I'm on estrogen primed microdose Lupron which is also meant to be for poor responders. I do two injections of Lupron (morning and evening) then I do 300 follistim and 75 menopur.
@tamalahoops, you might wait to schedule days off until after you start stims, if you can. My clinic gave me tentative retrieval dates all three times, but the first time I had to take maybe 4 extra days of meds, and the 2nd and 3rd times my retrievals were 2 days earlier than expected (@dragonette505, they put me on the microdose Lupron/poor responder protocol as well). So it's hard to really know until you get closer to the day.

Hi All- I hope you don't mind if I join you! I was waiting to join until I was sure I would be starting this month. Always so many delays in this process. My history is in my siggy, but this will be my third (and probably last shot) at IVF. I have DOR and I am doing an estrogen primed antagonist protocol. They confirmed ovulation today with a progesterone test, so I start estrogen tomorrow, ganirelax on Sat and then hopefully stims around next weekend. Looking forward to getting to know you all!

Baseline will be this Sunday, at which point I start letrozole, I'm kind of scared of it (when you read the label and all the warnings), any experiences?
AFM I had my baseline and was cleared to start stimms, short protocol starting with Decapeptyl and Gonal-F, then Menopur and Cetrotide. I usually have around 10 days of stims before trigger shot. Really hoping for more follicles this time, they could see small ones on both sides and I'm so hoping both sides will be responding! Next scan is on Monday.
@dragonette505 Sorry I disappeared - occasionally I actually get busy with work to do at work. But I also I had to refer to my calendar. Okay I don't actually know the name or category under which whatever my RE is having me do is - it just feels like she's thrown a bit of stuff at me. When I froze eggs 4+ years ago (so was younger), I was only on bc for a week (probably not enough to synchronize anything), did 225iu follistim, and the menopur for only two of the days...so I don't know.
Once I start sticking myself, it'll be with Gonal F 300iu, Menopur 75iu x2, and omnitrope 25u (I think to help with quality?) to start.

AFM, waiting to hear back from the Dr. Follies looked good but they were a little spread out in size so my nurse isn't sure when he'll want me to trigger, especially with my estrogen so high. I'm hoping I get to trigger tonight...this nausea has not been fun. Ugh.

@artemis618@mandasand and @tamalahoops its nice to have cycle buddies for this! I have a few friends who have done various levels of IF treatment, but none that are going through it right now.
@tamalahoops I start stims on 1/22 and my nurse says she has my ER penciled in for the week of the 30th, probably Feb 1, 2, or 3. But said she won't know for sure until I'm doing the shots and we see how I respond. I'm kind of hoping for earlier, bc I have to drive to TX on the 5th for a work conf and would like some more time to recover.
Has anyone used designrxfirststeps.com for discounts on your meds? I was talking to Walgreens Specialty today (they have my rx now, thankfully) and she mentioned that they will discount based on income and extenuating circumstances, but didn't have any info on what the $$ criteria was as far as income etc.
@ lin&say what stim day are you on? @JuliaGoolia719 I have never used anything but my insurance's private delivery pharmacy.. so far that's been relatively easy and for me cheap. I've never paid more than 60 or 70 bucks for meds in a cycle.
afm.... Stim day 10 update: 16 follies (about 10 of them mid sized betw 9 and 13) lining 6.3 estrogen 1765.
Originally they thought I'd come in Monday for my next monitoring, but I've got to come in tomorrow and reduce my follistim tonight. Again... no telling when I will trigger. Last cycle around this time I ended up monitoring almost every durn day....
Hope y'all are progressing and we are developing an impressive batch of eggs... we should do a group egg count at the end of this thread to see how many we all made after all of our er's!
Just got the call...triggering tonight! Thank god! I'm literally freaked the eff out about this trigger shot though. I may have a nurse friend do it for hubby. He had a work accident that took out a huge chunk of his hand yesterday and the first thing I thought of was "omg can you still do my shots?!" Wife of the year right here!

@Kayla.J Are you using a surrogate? cool! I haven't seen anyone else post about it, but its definitely something to consider for those of us with rpl... I'm def trying for myself right now, but would consider it if needed
7 follies at baseline is good! It really depends on your body. Some people kind of stay with the number they start with, some develop more. Last cycle I started with 2 follies at baseline and ended up with 17 so honestly its up to how your ovaries respond to the stims
Just got the update from the genetics lab...they've started building the probe set-up! I get to start BCPs when AF arrives in 10 or so days. Probe will be done within 3-4 weeks so we are timing it so we can start stimming the week the probe is done! Yay!
@JuliaGoolia719 I have not used the first steps program but we did apply for compassionate care which is the discount program for Gonal F and cetrotide. We were able to use 2015s w2's for income purposes which is great because I got a huge promotion in 2016 and we for sure would not have qualified. Our combined income was just under $100k and we were approved for 25% off.

3 IVF retrievals.
PGS and PGD results from 9 embryos: 1 genetically normal embryo.
April 2017 transfer. BFP! M/C 11 weeks.

@IfYouCanDreamIt my next scan is tomorrow! eeek! Please let us know how it went today (if you haven't already... I'm behind on my reading and replying!)
Lin&say Honestly its always so hard to tell in the middle of a cycle how its gonna turn out... cycle before last my doc was so optimistic right before retrieval and it was horrible! This last one we were like...hopefully just more than last time and it was a bumper crop... no way of knowing till they aspirate all those follies
@sleepyrn have you gotten a trigger day set?
@klake42 UGH! that sux! Estrogen totally bloats me too!

Exciting to see everyone progressing!

@artemis618 @mandasand and @tamalahoops its nice to have cycle buddies for this!
@sleepyrn yay for trigger! FX for ER tomorrow!
@Nikkilegare FX for ER on Sunday!
Together Let Us Seek the Heights
Anyone else using a surrogate?? Also had 7 follicles on my baseline ultrasound. Does this number improve with the stim meds ?
@dragonette505 Today is day 9 for me. They switched me back to a normal hcg trigger so I'm hoping and praying no OHSS. 16 follies is great!! Hopefully you'll get to trigger soon so you get some relief!

Happy Friday everyone!
@dragonette505 - Yes we are! I actually had my uterus removed as a teenager because of a tumor, so I have known for a while that I would be using one.
