I'm so sorry. That is a huge let down. I actually cried when my cycle started because I thought I wouldn't get to do my iui because it was so close Christmas. I'm suprised they won't let you do the iui if they are open. Do they stop iui's and IVF's from Thanksgiving thru New Years? I would be mad, I can't control my cycle. They know fertility planning is very last minute.

I would be so upset too! that's BS. I had my CD2 scan and BW done this morning. I'm starting clomid today and the dr is a little worried about timing but he said if it falls on the 25 or 26 then we'll just try the old fashioned way. I don't want to skip the whole cycle when I don't even know for sure timing won't work out. I'm shooting for a christmas eve iui or Dec 27 iui.

Yeah, they say the lab is not open on the 25-26, so the IUI is out of the question, even if the doc would be willing to do it...At least that's what I understood. But I'm meeting him this coming Tuesday, so I'll try to be persuasive

@bestofjoy I hope your RE give you positive news!

AFM, after a SCARY morning trying to get to the RE during an ice storm, I got some great news! I had one follie that was 21 and another that was 15. My lining was good at a 9. I actually triggered last night. I'll go in for my very first iui tomorrow.
Question though: Should I take the entire day off of work tomorrow? What did you guys do?

Thanks @rainbowwishes5. One of my good friends said she always took the day off on iui days, so I thought maybe it was suggested. But I'd rather not have to, if possible.

Good luck tomorrow @hopetobeashraderfamily! My first IUI round, I took the day off but mostly because I had a few days to burn at work. This round landed on a weekend so it wasn't necessary but if another cycle is necessary, I won't be taking the day off.

Just checking in. IUI went great! Very easy. DH's counts were awesome at 21mil and motility at 54%. The motility over-doubled, so the vitamins he's taking have helped! I go get progesterone checked on 12/27 and beta on 1/3. Thanks for all the support. I'm going to head out over to the Dec 2ww board. But i'll be keeping an eye on things here too!

I'm CD 7 today and just finished up my clomid. I'm going in for a scan tomorrow but I'm sure it's still way too early. Ill go back the tuesday after christmas and really hoping it won't be too late by then. ive been waiting for this all year and the timing is stressing me out. at least christmas will be a good distraction.

@brooklyngirl18 He has been taking them for about 2 weeks. We also followed @bobby2016's advice and made sure he "released" every 72 hours our so. That probably helped a lot too!
Things you never thought you'd talk to a perfect stranger about...this whole post just made me laugh out loud.

Well, IUI cycle 4 was negative. Taking a month off, as all the appointments would fall right around Christmas/New Years.. starting injectables next cycle. We are hoping this will produce many follicles and we can switch to an IVF cycle with a little more success.

AFM after a failed IUI at the beginning of the month I'm trying to squeeze in one more IUI before moving to IVF. I'm taking clomid again, but will miss my CD 10 & CD 11 monitoring because of Christmas, and so I might miss the window for IUI. TMI warning * Our doctor "prescribed sex" on Christmas to cover our bases and my husband said this was the best gift of all

well, looks like christmas is totally messing with my IUI plan. I went today for for a scan and i have a 16.5 follicle. the dr said to come back tomorrow and if it's 18 then i'll trigger and have a christmas eve iui with 'prescribed sex' like you @kaseycoco lol the other option is waiting until monday but I feel like it'll be too late by then. I keep telling myself that even if the iui is cancelled, maybe the meds did their thing and i'll still get pregnant the old fashioned way.

@brooklyngirl18 did you end up having the IUI? I went in for my scan on the 26th and had a 26mm follie, then had IUI yesterday and today. Hoping to squeeze in a new years miracle!

@kaseycoco that's great, good luck!!! I did end up having my iui on christmas eve. That morning the dr said the timing was perfect so I'm sitting tight and crossing everything! my beta is scheduled for jan 9 but I usually have an 11 day lp but i'm expecting to know by the 6th.
