Symptoms? back pain, some RLP.. increased appetite.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Lol.. nothing. After getting the house put back together after Christmas we are going to start getting the room cleaned out and organized
Rants/Raves/Questions: not right now!
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? I guess a lot of little, fun things... my 10 year HS reunion, which is when I'm pretty sure we conceived, my 1 year wedding anniversary, and my husband being super supportive and sweet through our loss in March, and through this pregnancy. Its been a crazy year with lots of ups and downs
How far along are you? 24 weeks--viability day! Can't believe it.
How big is baby? Cantaloupe! And she feels like one rolling around in there sometimes.
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Pink
Appointments this week? Regular ob with brief ultrasound for pics missed at anatomy scan Thursday.
Symptoms? I think I've had a couple of Braxton-hicks contractions this last week. It was the weirdest thing. Also heartburn, thirst, wanting all the carbs, crazy movement.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Our first piece of nursery furniture arrived--a glider rocker as a gift from my parents.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Sometimes I think what I'm feeling is BH contractions, otherwise I've also noticed my uterus tightening when she's really rolling around in there. Is that normal? Rave: my MIL got me more maternity clothes for Christmas and I'm thinking between that and what I already had I may be good to go for the pregnancy. Though if we get early warm spells I may need some summery clothes later.
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? 2016 was definitely the worst year I've had yet--but I loved graduating with my master's degree, and the family vacation to the beach in Georgia where baby was conceived. That was a really good week. In more ways than one haha.
Symptoms? Starting to slow down, and feel tired more easily
What have you done to prepare for baby this week?
We're cleaning out the basement and doing some organization to prepare for the influx of baby stuff. We'll hopefully finish registering and look at some baby furniture.
Appointments this week? Just had a routine appt on Christmas Eve, Anatomy scan is Jan 3rd
Symptoms? Feeling more winded. It's starting to get really hard to go about my day. I really have to pace myself. Christmas shopping was brutal haha
What have you done to prepare for baby this week?As suggested by my dr, I want to take a 20 minute daily walk to stay active.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rave: My BIL is giving us a lot of baby gear that is just sitting in his basement. I'm really grateful for it, we won't have to register for too much
Rant: I'm getting really nervous about my anatomy scan! At my routine appt on Christmas Eve, Dr was not happy my anatomy scan wasn't until jan 3rd (24 weeks). My dr brought up the prospect of termination and how i'll have limited time to make a decision in the event of something being wrong and it crushed me. Everything has been looking great so far, I guess it's a standard thing to bring up, but it was a downer. I feel no matter what this little lady deserves a shot at life, but I know I will be pressured in the event the anatomy scan is unfavorable. I really really hope all will be well, I love this peanut so much
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? DH and I moving into our first home!
Uh, kale. At least 14" long and based on the fact that he's in the 90th growth percentile, I'd say about 2 pounds or greater.
Team blue.
No appointments.
Symptoms: Heartburn. Right sided sciatic pain with occasional swelling of my right leg. Inferno crotch. Trouble sleeping. Nasal congestion.
Baby prep: I know I should wait until after the baby shower, but I've purchased quite a bit of clothes for my son. There's been such great sales that I've got about 70% off for items ranging from newborn to 24 months. I'm mostly focusing on larger sizes because I figure he won't need much the first few months and I'll likely receive a bunch of the smaller size items at the shower.
Rave: Christmas is one of the only times I appreciate snow in the valley; we got over a foot this weekend.
GTKY: In June we went on a vacation to the Olympic Peninsula and Seattle to celebrate what would have been the birth of our daughter. It was a happy time for us and we even found out we were again expecting. Unfortunately, we lost that pregnancy, but I hold on to those memories as positive ones because here we are 6 months later, 6 months pregnant with our rainbow (rainbow, rainbow, rainbow) baby. I feel so blessed, carrying this little miracle around.
@Lovable Bump I agree that was a pretty awful thing to say. Good lands. My mother was pressured to terminate me after her anatomy scan and I'm so glad she didn't! Crossing fingers for you that all goes well!
@thecavfamily I love that you're going into 2017 six months prego after all 2016 threw at you. Yeah for angel mamas!
26 weeks....ahhh moving into 3rd trimester, crazy!
How big is baby?
squash, kale, scallion
Team Blue, Pink, Green?
blue
Appointments this week?
yes on Friday, routine appointment for weight, fundal height, heartbeat, and blood pressure. Also getting blood drawn to check for anemia, 1 hour glucose, and urinalysis for protein.
Symptoms?
can't seep, fatigue, increased appetite, meralgia prosthetica is getting *better (less painful), lots of movement
What have you done to prepare for baby this week?
I completely cleaned out our entire storage room for baby! If y'all even knew how packed it was and full of crap!! I'm so excited. DH and I (mostly DH) put the dresser together today. I love it! Next weekend is the crib
Rants/Raves/Questions:
A little worried my blood pressure is slowly climbing up, guess we'll see what they say on Friday.
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? being awarded Teacher of the Year at my school
5. I majorly (!!) overdid it 12/24 and 12/25 so I was super sore, crampy, beyond exhausted! I rested all day today though soon feel better.
6. Nothing. I don't have anything that really needs to be done for a while.
7. My mom is here staying with us for three weeks 'to help'. I love having her here but she isn't helpful and she is wearing me out as opposed to letting me rest.
8. Hmm. Probably camping in Lake Michigan with the fam in July.
@SDSwenson@HGRich Congrats on Viability Week, Can't wait to join you all soon! @HGRich I haven't felt any BH yet so I'm sorry I can't be of any help @Lovable Bump Has your doctor had any reason based off of old test results to make a comment like that? I get that he probably has to say that, but it is really insensitive at the same time.
How far along are you? 23 Weeks!
How big is baby? Grapefruit. I have so many different apps and the sizes are all crazy different, I don't get it
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Blue
Appointments this week? None this week, I'm busy visiting family out of state anyways
Symptoms? Just started getting a pain in my lower back, right above my butt in the center. It happens when I am bending down and go to stand up. Might be time for a pregnancy pillow soon.
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? I received some baby clothes as christmas presents so I am going to count that.
Rants/Raves/Questions: Rave: My little one is moving around more and my husband felt him for the first time! Rant: We are back home visiting family (most of them this is the first time seeing me pregnant, so lots of touching) I am so over people's opinions about baby names. We haven't decided yet so when we say our top ideas people just rip into them.
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? My husband got a job and we will be relocating to North Carolina, I am very excited about it! It won't be until a few months after the baby arrives but I can't wait to settle down with my family
@HGRich the same thing happens to me when baby boy is rolling around. I have also had a bunch of BH contractions but the difference (at least from what I can tell) is that with BH, the tight feeling is across my entire abdomen, whereas when it's tightness from the baby moving, the area of tightness is just in one spot at a time and sort of follows the baby around as he is moving.
Appointments this week? None until the middle of Jan
Symptoms? Increased appetite and some RLP
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? We picked paint colors and DH is going to paint the nursery this week! Pretty excited since this is one of the last major things we need to do since we have most things from DS.
Rants/Raves/Questions: We finally announced our little one's name - Hailey Grace. Glad the fam seemed to love it.
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? Getting to spend the week at the beach with DS (we go every year). This year was the first year he seemed to really love the sand and waves - so cute!
Appointments this week? I have an appointment tomorrow with my midwife.
Symptoms? RLP
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? I've done nothing! But LO did get a lot of clothes from family for Christmas so I have to start organizing and putting it all away!
Rants/Raves/Questions: LO is moving so much more this week!
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? DD was born in January so that's my favorite memory from 2016.
@HGRich, I second what @kitkat8387 said regarding BH. The only times I've noticed the overall tightening (what I'm assuming is BH) is while walking up multiple flights of stairs at work, but other tightness feels more localized and connected with movement of the LO.
Thanks @thecavfamily and @kitkat8387. I suspect maybe I haven't had BH then. Probably just baby sticking her booty out or something. Haha. I'm sure I'll be certain when and if I feel real ones!
How big is baby? Canteloupe sized, and think about 600 grams.
Team Blue, Pink, Green? Blue
Appointments this week? Midwife general check up was today (28), all results are fine.
Symptoms? back ache, broken sleep, and a new one - found some mouth ulcers . I also seem to have picked up a (so far) mild cold
What have you done to prepare for baby this week? Started saving motivational/positive birth quotes. Also started doing active bonding stuff like listening to music, warm bath with oils, speaking/singing to him and visualising stuff.
Rants/Raves/Questions: will I EVER stop worrying about stupid irrational things??
GTKY: besides your BFP, what is your favorite memory from 2016? Baby related, definitely the first viability scan, maybe even more than the rest of the scans. I cried for twenty minutes after that, I wanted this baby so much. Non baby wise, I had 4 wisdom teeth removed between april and june. I was exstatic when it was all over and i got given the all clear.
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
@Lovable Bump , I am sure everything will be fine at the anatomy scan! fingers crossed, and let us know

Thank you all for the kind words, this is seriously why I love this community The only thing I can think of is that I had some bleeding early on due to a vanishing twin and I had a high tsh level during my 6 week blood work (when they retested my tsh at 16 weeks, it was in normal range). I meet with a different dr of the practice each time I go for an appt, who all have told me that a high tsh in early pregnancy is normal and that it levels out (which I guess is what happened?). This last dr I saw said it's not normal and expressed concern over it. She wanted me to watch out for signs of a high tsh level. So I'm assuming that's why she said that about my anatomy scan. But it still was a huge mood kill at the time, especially after being told everything is looking amazing and very confusing to me since every single scan i've had was steller, NT was normal, bloodwork was low risk, always a strong fetal heartbeat, ect.
