I'll prob have a glass of wine on Christmas Eve and the next few days following while with all my family. Most of my family doesn't know that we are doing IVF and if I'm not drinking at all it will cause WAY too many questions that I'm not in the mood to answer. I'll just nurse a glass. After that I won't have any.
Starting on the 1st I'll cut out wine, except for the 7th which is wedding and I'll have 1 or 2 glasses. I know right before my canceled fet due to thin lining my acupuncturist told me at least a week in advance to cut alcohol because it can thin you lining and obviously I didn't need any more to go against me.
Ok ER today- 8 eggs. Whomp whomp. Woman next to me had 27.

It's about quality- not quantity. I felt that way too after my 2nd retrieval yielded the same number of eggs as the first. But then after testing we ended up with better numbers. Those 8 eggs could very well be in excellent shape!

@rainbowwishes5 I had 16 eggs retrieved both times. The first round, we wound up with 4 day-5 embryos, 1 of which was chromosomally normal. The second round, we wound up 4 5-day embryos again, but this time 3 out of 4 were normal.
We did increase the follistim/menopur dose for the second round, so we were surprised we only had 16 eggs again. The other change in protocol was that we added a hGh. Not sure if that's what made the difference, but it just goes to show- you may start with a high number and only get 1, 2, or 3 good embryos. Or you can also wind up with an initial low number and have most (or all) of them make it to day 5.

I've been having a rough December. This week we lost not one, but two of my uncles to cancer. They were both diagnosed in March, within a week of each other. Due to recent events, my mom has been traveling to be with her sisters as they face difficult times ahead. I'm glad she's able to be the support for her sisters, but that means not having her around for Christmas. This is also my second Christmas without my Dad- something I'm still getting used to.
To top things off, a close friend of mine just announced her third pregnancy in 3 years on Facebook. I love her, and I'm happy for her, but damn, that hurts. 1- because she's apparently able to get pregnant just by breathing, and 2- that she didn't let me know before making the announcement... especially because she knows what we're going through.
I don't mean to be a negative nancy on Christmas eve. The weight of all these things just puts more pressure on this FET to work. The last couple years have been very hard, and it would be absolutely amazing if this FET were to work. I suppose if it doesn't, we at least don't have to go through another egg retrieval before FET #3.
Anyways, forgive my late-night Christmas eve musings. I know this is probably more appropriate for Thanksgiving, but I'm so grateful to have this community. IF is such a weird and difficult thing to go through, and having this kind of support has made a world of difference for me. Even though I may get a little sour when my friends get pregnant with ease (and for free!), I am nothing but thrilled when I see positive pee sticks and betas in these forums. : )

Hi ladies, how was everyones Christmas? I was bummed that it was 80 degrees here, and not chilly, but it was great to spend time with family and friends.
Do any of you have advice on whether Dayquil is safe during the weeks before FET? I'm pretty sure I have strep, and all the clinics around here are booked until tomorrow, and the IVF clinic hasn't called me back. I just don't want to take anything that could potentially thin out my lining. Our FET is on 1/10, so its about 2 weeks away.

Holidays were busy and went by fast. Could use another few days off But isn't that likely always true.
I have been finding myself in this total baby headspace...trying to prep myself to be excited about possibly getting PUPO...I am really hoping I can just forget the other experiences and really enjoy it if it goes well and not 2nd guess that it might go bad at some point.
Also strange note but have you guys talked with your partners about baby names?
Patches and Lupron have been going pretty well other than the 1st day I did the patches I had some side effects.
My 1/3 lining check and blood work is going to not be at my RE's it will instead be at a obgyn's office 2 hours away (which might be the place I would deliver if all goes well)...so I am giving it a try...going to meet a possible ob etc.
I am also working on planning my pre transfer blood draw and transfer and post transfer. I think I am going to drive down for the blood draw (5 hour drive) and spend the weekend in the cities while I wait for our transfer that monday (then have my husband drive back the 1st day and spend the 2nd day low key and the 3rd day I have a work event (so go back to work that day) that I need to be for but other than that just keep the week low key (but working)
Anyone know what the goal range is for lining for transfer?

Went in for a sono and blood work today bc I still haven't had a positive ovulation test! Lead follicle at 17mm and they want more like 19/20. My lining was at 7 and like I stated above, im usually at 9 or 10. Hoping things look better tomorrow when I go back for another sono. He thinks they'll most likely trigger me tmrw.

Hi Ladies! Sorry I've been MIA - sometimes I have a hard time thinking about all this and just try to stay off the boards.
I'm so excited for all of you who are rapidly approaching their FET date.
I had a question and was hoping someone may be able to help. My transfer is scheduled for January. I went off BCP on December 18th and my period never came. I did spot but no AF. My RE told me to stick to our original delestrogen start date of the 22nd. I never got my period and now the spotting has completely stopped. The RE office is closed so I am unable to reach out to them for a few days.
Do you think they will cancel this transfer because AF didn't come? Or did the delestrogen prevent AF from coming? I'm not sure what to make of the situation...I wish my RE had told me what to expect when he told me to stick to our original protocol.
Omg! I just realized I took 3 ml of delestrogen instead of .3 ml last Thursday. I only had 3ml syringes so I think my eyes just roamed right over the decimal.
I have to wait until tomorrow AM to get ahold of someone. I'm so frustrated right now...I can't believe I screwed this up.
@Sweetdrms182 try not to worry too much. On the cycle I took bcp my RE said I may or may not get a period and that either was fine. I'm sure you'll feel better once you talk to them...is there an emergency number you can call tomorrow?

@APM_SLP I tried pomegranate juice my last round and had the thickest lining for myself out of all my rounds. I only drank like 2 glasses a day though. I'm trying to look it up I think it's like pineapple you don't want to much cause it can have a reverse effect.
Be careful with Essential oils ladies. My RE is very for it but if it's used properly. There are some scents even in candles that are a big no no after ovulation.
@Sweetdrms182 I don't typically have AF during a cycle. I do BCP a month + before and the day after I stop I start right in with the estrogen. I may spot but never a full flow. I hate that the RE's don't fully disclose everything they just kind of let things happen and then we call panicking cause we think something is wrong and it's not really.

@LeFemmeViolette I am so sorry to hear that December has been so tough for you girlie. I think it has been kind of tough for me at times as well. Sucks to hear about your friend's pg announcement, it's too bad she didn't try and give you at least somewhat of a heads up. I understand what you mean about cycle pressure, I have a lot of anxiety with this cycle to work as well since we've already had 2 BFNs.

@BecauseLove I think my clinic looks for it to be 7+ too and @APM_SLP I will be drinking pom juice daily for about a month before transfer. I didn't drink it as long last time but I def do think it helped! I also want to eat Pineapple core again to help.

@rainbowwishes5 You're welcome . Right now I am trying to get back into my yoga routines and focus on maintaining a healthful diet. I also plan to drink about a gallon of water per day to stay hydrated and then will start drinking a couple glasses of pom juice each day. I am thinking about acupuncture but not quite sure yet. We are really rolling out all of the stops this time since it will be our last cycle for a while either way it goes..

I'm so glad the holidays are over, it's nice seeing everyone but the anxiety of someone making an insensitive comment was too much. Got a good one though. DHs cousin with 2 under 2 had one kid flung over her shoulder and told me to take a good look because it was the best birth control.SMH. In other news, the whole family has a violent stomach bug and I feel victim last night. Still in bed at 1pm. I really hope I'm far enough away from lining check and transfer for this not to affect anything. Ugh.
I'm trying pomegranate juice and then pineapple core after my transfer. My typical lining was over 8 for every medicated, monitored cycle with femara, so I'm praying my body doesn't surprise us.

My heart had always been set on naming my Son after my dad who passed away when I was 8. But one of my girls carries his name for her middle name "Rae". But yes twin girls and a boy would be great Idk what I'll do if it's a girl. 3 teenage girls at the same time? I may die in about 10 years lol.

thucks Yep been on estrogen patches since 12/21. I took the advice off of one of the sites to start patches on one side of my tummy (closer to my underwear line below my bellybutton) and work them across as I take one off and add another on. Not sure exactly my plan once I up to 2-4 patches at a time. I start 2 patches on 12/29 and at 4 patches by 1/2 into the future.
I sure hope you will get the little boy you wanted this time. Will they tell you the gender of the transfer? How was it having twins and now having twins??

@becauselove across the lower belly sounds like a good idea. Is the adhesive a pain? I start with 2 patches the 3 then 4 then back down to 2 pending my blood wrk. At my 6wk u/s it showed triplets one had split so it was very nervracking at first. At 8wks we were back down to twins felt alot better. My Belly and Boobs got big fast. I had a little complication with blood clots early on but everything was ok. My hardest part was the questioning of people and the empathy of doc's that were not used to IF. I did end up with preclampsia and had a c-section at 35 weeks. I went in for my apt to schedule a c-section for the following week and we ended up doing it that day. Fortunately I had big healthy girls. Now that they are 3 it's crazy busy busy all the time. When they say "it takes a village to raise a child" it's even more so with twins.

thucks The adhesive isn't awesome but its just like band aid adhesive so not impossible. The 1st day I did the estrogen patch I got a headache almost instantly and felt wonky for the rest of the day with hot flashes etc. But after that I have felt pretty normal with them other than sleeping super hard which isn't totally normal for me.

It's about quality- not quantity. I felt that way too after my 2nd retrieval yielded the same number of eggs as the first. But then after testing we ended up with better numbers. Those 8 eggs could very well be in excellent shape!

I had 16 eggs retrieved both times.
The first round, we wound up with 4 day-5 embryos, 1 of which was chromosomally normal. The second round, we wound up 4 5-day embryos again, but this time 3 out of 4 were normal.
We did increase the follistim/menopur dose for the second round, so we were surprised we only had 16 eggs again. The other change in protocol was that we added a hGh. Not sure if that's what made the difference, but it just goes to show- you may start with a high number and only get 1, 2, or 3 good embryos. Or you can also wind up with an initial low number and have most (or all) of them make it to day 5.

To top things off, a close friend of mine just announced her third pregnancy in 3 years on Facebook. I love her, and I'm happy for her, but damn, that hurts. 1- because she's apparently able to get pregnant just by breathing, and 2- that she didn't let me know before making the announcement... especially because she knows what we're going through.
I don't mean to be a negative nancy on Christmas eve. The weight of all these things just puts more pressure on this FET to work. The last couple years have been very hard, and it would be absolutely amazing if this FET were to work. I suppose if it doesn't, we at least don't have to go through another egg retrieval before FET #3.
Anyways, forgive my late-night Christmas eve musings. I know this is probably more appropriate for Thanksgiving, but I'm so grateful to have this community. IF is such a weird and difficult thing to go through, and having this kind of support has made a world of difference for me. Even though I may get a little sour when my friends get pregnant with ease (and for free!), I am nothing but thrilled when I see positive pee sticks and betas in these forums. : )

Do any of you have advice on whether Dayquil is safe during the weeks before FET? I'm pretty sure I have strep, and all the clinics around here are booked until tomorrow, and the IVF clinic hasn't called me back. I just don't want to take anything that could potentially thin out my lining. Our FET is on 1/10, so its about 2 weeks away.

I have been finding myself in this total baby headspace...trying to prep myself to be excited about possibly getting PUPO...I am really hoping I can just forget the other experiences and really enjoy it if it goes well and not 2nd guess that it might go bad at some point.
Also strange note but have you guys talked with your partners about baby names?
Patches and Lupron have been going pretty well other than the 1st day I did the patches I had some side effects.
My 1/3 lining check and blood work is going to not be at my RE's it will instead be at a obgyn's office 2 hours away (which might be the place I would deliver if all goes well)...so I am giving it a try...going to meet a possible ob etc.
I am also working on planning my pre transfer blood draw and transfer and post transfer. I think I am going to drive down for the blood draw (5 hour drive) and spend the weekend in the cities while I wait for our transfer that monday (then have my husband drive back the 1st day and spend the 2nd day low key and the 3rd day I have a work event (so go back to work that day) that I need to be for but other than that just keep the week low key (but working)

I'm so excited for all of you who are rapidly approaching their FET date.
I had a question and was hoping someone may be able to help. My transfer is scheduled for January. I went off BCP on December 18th and my period never came. I did spot but no AF. My RE told me to stick to our original delestrogen start date of the 22nd. I never got my period and now the spotting has completely stopped. The RE office is closed so I am unable to reach out to them for a few days.
Do you think they will cancel this transfer because AF didn't come? Or did the delestrogen prevent AF from coming? I'm not sure what to make of the situation...I wish my RE had told me what to expect when he told me to stick to our original protocol.
I have to wait until tomorrow AM to get ahold of someone. I'm so frustrated right now...I can't believe I screwed this up.
@Sweetdrms182 try not to worry too much. On the cycle I took bcp my RE said I may or may not get a period and that either was fine. I'm sure you'll feel better once you talk to them...is there an emergency number you can call tomorrow?

Be careful with Essential oils ladies. My RE is very for it but if it's used properly. There are some scents even in candles that are a big no no after ovulation.
@Sweetdrms182 I don't typically have AF during a cycle. I do BCP a month + before and the day after I stop I start right in with the estrogen. I may spot but never a full flow. I hate that the RE's don't fully disclose everything they just kind of let things happen and then we call panicking cause we think something is wrong and it's not really.

@LeFemmeViolette I am so sorry to hear that December has been so tough for you girlie. I think it has been kind of tough for me at times as well. Sucks to hear about your friend's pg announcement, it's too bad she didn't try and give you at least somewhat of a heads up. I understand what you mean about cycle pressure, I have a lot of anxiety with this cycle to work as well since we've already had 2 BFNs.

@BecauseLove I think my clinic looks for it to be 7+ too and @APM_SLP I will be drinking pom juice daily for about a month before transfer. I didn't drink it as long last time but I def do think it helped! I also want to eat Pineapple core again to help.

I'm so glad the holidays are over, it's nice seeing everyone but the anxiety of someone making an insensitive comment was too much. Got a good one though. DHs cousin with 2 under 2 had one kid flung over her shoulder and told me to take a good look because it was the best birth control.SMH.
In other news, the whole family has a violent stomach bug and I feel victim last night. Still in bed at 1pm. I really hope I'm far enough away from lining check and transfer for this not to affect anything. Ugh.
I'm trying pomegranate juice and then pineapple core after my transfer. My typical lining was over 8 for every medicated, monitored cycle with femara, so I'm praying my body doesn't surprise us.

@BecauseLove I know in all this IF your suppose to be excited beyond belief at a healthy baby but I was devastated when I found out the twins were Girls. My heart had always been set on naming my Son after my dad who passed away when I was 8. But one of my girls carries his name for her middle name "Rae". But yes twin girls and a boy would be great Idk what I'll do if it's a girl. 3 teenage girls at the same time? I may die in about 10 years lol.

At my 6wk u/s it showed triplets one had split so it was very nervracking at first. At 8wks we were back down to twins felt alot better. My Belly and Boobs got big fast. I had a little complication with blood clots early on but everything was ok. My hardest part was the questioning of people and the empathy of doc's that were not used to IF. I did end up with preclampsia and had a c-section at 35 weeks. I went in for my apt to schedule a c-section for the following week and we ended up doing it that day. Fortunately I had big healthy girls. Now that they are 3 it's crazy busy busy all the time. When they say "it takes a village to raise a child" it's even more so with twins.
