@jomarma we're starting a full kitchen demo and renovation the first week of January and at the time we planned it all out we didn't know we were expecting. Now as the date gets closer and my crazy hormones get crazier I'm having such bad anxiety over it. I hoping to keep it together for the 3 or so weeks they're working but I'm already bugging out about it! No tears yet but I'm sure there will be many when all is said and done.
We got the first part of our hardwood floors installed. I got home from work and DH was supposed to tell the workers to cut the wood in the garage.... well you guessed it, he didn't. There is dust EVERYWHERE. All over the furniture, on the new carpet and the walls. I called up a friend and just burst into tears, as we fought over it and I felt like he didn't listen to me. I ended up going to Home Depot, getting drop sheets and taping them up between the rooms. Then when I felt proud of myself DH then tells me because of the way the rooms run and where the support beams are, the two rooms that's are connected are going to have the hardwood going in different directions. I almost had a stroke - tears... DH had already signed off on it... so I answered him through sniffles well this isn't our forever home and the next house I'll plan the hardwood and not f it up .. that didn't end well....
@MsTurney that's rough, I'm sorry. Really, though, I feel like professionals should have known to cut the wood in the garage or outside...or if they do make a mess, they clean it up to where you can't tell they were there (sometimes the dust will still get tracked into the house from shoes, etc). If not, DH should have cleaned up the mess to help you. As stressful and challenging as remodeling is, I'm sure it's exponentially more so when this far along pregnant AND two weeks away from Christmas. That would be enough to wear on anyone's nerves. Hopefully they will finish and clean up quickly!

My heart is breaking guys. There was a huge gas leak in our neighborhood yesterday and a house actually blew up. It is such a heartbreaking and scary situation. The father and 12 year old daughter were in the house at the time and are now in critical condition. The house is entirely gone. The area was evacuated for most of the day yesterday. The house was like 2 blocks away from the leak, but the build up of gas in the area still caused it. I can't imagine what this poor family is going through and right before the holidays. Our entire community has rallied. The outpuring of love and support has been incredible. In less than 24 hours the Village has raised almost 20K and all kinds of donations are coming in from all the local businesses and residents. I don't even know how to feel right now. I feel guilty for feeling lucky and blessed that my family is safe and we have a home. My heart is heavy today.
omg that's so awful @DizzyMom I can't believe that happened! I'll be saying prayers for them & hope they fully recover from their injuries...definitely a scary situation. I sometimes have fears about our house exploding from a gas leak or something- everyone in our neighborhood has gas heat. It's really nice of you & all the neighbors to rally around them for support, I'm sure they need all they can get at this time!
I just got a report back from my doctor that says I have "Maternal Obesity Syndrome". This was on an online patient portal. In person none of my doctors have mentioned my weight, mentioned my weight gain, told me to gain less, told me to eat less, etc.
Regardless, it made me ugly cry.
Is that even a thing? It sounds like a made up "syndrome," like a fancy way of saying you gain more weight when pregnant. So?
i found stretch marks on my ass.. or varicose veins, I'm not really sure but I had an " I just want my body back now " ugly cry in bed last night. I know it's worth it but damn! My body didn't change much last pregnancy so I think all of this is just kind of coming as a shock

Yes, it's a thing. And yes, it's a fancy way to say you're gaining more weight than you should. It's odd that no one has ever said anything about her weight before. I know a lot of times, the doctors will want to order a test and the insurance company won't cover it without a reason so they pluck something out of thin air.
When I was seeing my old gyno, she started selling Advocare. She decided that in order to sell me on this crap, that she needed to do all kinds of blood work. $11,000 of blood work. I had recently lost 50 pounds by eating better and working out, but to justify the tests to my insurance company she coded it as unexplained weight GAIN.
DH and I are flying home today, and for some reason I just could not sleep last night. Finally fell asleep at 3am. Woke up at 7:30 to get around for the airport. Thought to myself, well, at least we can eat in the airport lounge for free before our flight and then I'll sleep on the plane. Got to the lounge and the only food they had was croissants, cured meat and cheese. WTF?!? I mean, I had a protein bar in my bag just in case, but that didn't stop me from having a pity party about not being able to eat the free the food before eating my protein bar.
