@Winnie81 yay for great PGS results! I have endo as well and have been told to have low carb high protein diet. Have you had the surgery to have it removed? I have not. There is no way I can avoid carbs, alcohol or sugar at xmas so I will start that in the new year. I'm also going to start driving pom juice. Let me know if you hear some diet suggestions.

@rainbowwishes5 I think they usually have access to the gender if you get PGS testing done. We had 3/4 embryos with the same grading, so we let the embryologists suggestion choose the gender.

@lilmissslp thank you!! I have heard low carb as well as reduction of red meat, which is really hard for me because i love steak! I had not heard about pom juice but I will look into that as well! I have had 2 laparoscopy's and they removed some during my myomectomy in 2014, but some of it is located on the ovary and fallopian tube so they couldn't completely remove, therefor it keeps coming back

@winnie81 and I love carbs!! ugh so tough! I don't know if the POM juice helps with endometriosis but I have read that it is supposed to help with your uterine lining so I figured I'd give it a try. I haven't had laparoscopic surgery for my endo. I did have my appendix removed due to a mass of endo on it. My RE says that IVF bypasses it and I don't need to have it removed at this point. I don't know though...

Got the green light to start meds tonight! Eek! Ugh of course one of the side effects of the hydrocortisone (steroid) is weight gain and my nurse said it can be pretty bad so I'm to call if I experience that. Just what I need when I'm going to be around family that already makes rude comments!

rainbowwishes5 our place does CCS (like PGS) testing and they know the gender but won't tell us the gender until if the egg implants and we have a successful ultrasound (then they will share the gender with us). Though if all of our eggs are the same quality (which ours are) all 5aa Normals they will utilize a preference if you provide one and they have the gender to select. Such as if we say our preference is boy and all they have is girls then clearly they won't utilize the preference.

Each place seems a little different.

mtpbadger Hey! Looks like your 1st in the group to have their FET! Exciting!! I am sorry to hear about the steroid but hopefully your family will be kind.

Winnie81 Those are good numbers! So exciting to have the results! Do you get to choose gender that you will be transferring?

APM_SLP I got some headaches here and there...that pretty much was the only side effect for me.

I am now waiting for my period to start and patches are next along with asprin and then a drop in my lupron and other meds.

So guys it looks like my FET may actually be in December! I started Letrozole today and I start at home ovulation tests on 12/24. They seem to think I will get a positive between 12/24 and 12/26. When I get the positive I'll go in for a sono and lab work same day. If everything looks good, they will trigger me there at the office. I'll start 5 days of prometrium with transfer on the 5th day. I can't believe it's all happening so fast.

if I do ovulate a little late I'll be in Jan!

@BecauseLove that makes sense and it is a good way to go about it. I'd take any sex embryo but it'd be so nice to know day 1 (or 5 really!)

@APM_SLP that is so exciting! Please stick around here, even if there's a chance you could transfer this month!

AFM - first night of meds went smoothly. I'm so glad I only have to do the Del Estrogen every third night and am dreading once PIO starts since I'll have two IM injections. I had a mini breakdown Friday night before starting meds. While I'm excited to get started again, I'm also scared sh!tless of it not working......again. I'm trying to stay positive and do some visualization but I find myself worrying about what the next steps are if this round doesn't work.

Also, after looking at my protocol, it looks like I'm actually scheduled for transfer on 01/04, not 01/03 like I had thought. @lefemmeviolette, looks like we will be transfer buddies!

@lilmissslp oh gosh endo on the appendix, ouch!! Have you ever tried acupuncture? I need to call the place I used to go to tomorrow and see if they have a plan to work with IVF/FET.

@becauselove It seemed like our doctor was going to give us the option to choose, since 3 out of the 4 embryos were the same grade. We didn't want to choose the gender though, so he let us know the order that the embryologist gave him, and we went with that, and it happened to be a girl.

@mtpbadger Yay for a smooth first day on meds! I'm sorry for your mini meltdown the other day. I think I have had one of those for each phase of the IVF process as well, but i think in a way it is cathartic to let it out. This is an emotional time for us, and I think staying positive and optimistic is so healthy, but also letting our raw emotions come out from time to time is healthy too. I'm sending positive vibes your way!

@mtpbadger I have a small breakdown before every cycle and procedure. This one is particularly scary for me. We are using our last two frozen embryos. If it doesn't work, we would have to IVF from the beginning again. There is so much hope attached to this cycle. I hope this is the one for you too!

@Winnie81 I did acupuncture in June and July prior to my fresh cycle (which was a BFN). My OBGYN recommends it for endo but I'm just not sure. It kind of stressed me out in the summer worrying about squeezing in another appointment.

@mtpbadger I know how you feel. I'm so scared of it not working as well. But I am trying so hard this time to just put it out into the universe that it's going to work. It's hard being so vulnerable because I know if it doesn't work I will be so so disappointment. But, at this point it's worth that risk!

@lilmissslp I'm in the same boat! We are transferring 2, and if it doesn't work we will be doing another ER. And it will be all OOP. Praying for good news for all this round.

@JESSABER0414 looks like we are transfer buddies if all goes well on my side of things (I am waiting on my AF to start so CD 3 I can start patches).

So I did this totally jinxy thing...I asked my husband to order a crib for my x-mas present. The room we would likely make into the baby room is tight so I wanted to get a feel for the space with a crib. Uffda though...I am a planner and it is the worst to not feel like I get any control over planning.

Also another side note. If all goes well and we get Ku'd we plan to keep the gender of the little one a secret beyond the time we tell people we are ku'd (as all know when we are doing our transfer so likely will know 2 weeks later if we are successful or not). That way we have something to have as a bit more of a surprise in the future for our parents and our siblings..maybe have a gender reveal moment with the family.

@becauselove I hear you on the planning! DH told me that if this one does work though, we will most likely start looking at houses (we currently live in a condo). I'm trying not to get too ahead of myself though! Hopefully you're surviving the cold weather in MN! I'm headed there on Thursday for Christmas and am glad of the "heat wave" 20-30 degrees!

@apm_slp I'm trying to mostly stay positive, try to do some visualization and talk positive. I know I will be devastated if this one doesn't work but I've realized I have to have hope - there's no way you can't during this process.

mtpbadger How long are you staying for? I just hibernate from the cold as much as possible. Not 20 or 30 degrees where I am today but not so bad either.

I find it to be really hard when every next decisions depends on this fertility stuff which seems to be out of my control. This past summer I started a business that I almost put off thinking I might be Ku'd with IUI's this last spring. I am glad that I just went ahead with it. I would have really felt like I missed out on opportunities had I held my self back and still was where I am today on the unknown of fertility.

@BecauseLove I am getting so excited, I tell my DH the countdown nearly every 2 days and I'm sure he's like Geez, I know. But he smiles and doesn't make too big a deal.
I was spotting for about a week while on the BCPs and then started AF Sunday after last pill Friday am. Doc had told me not to except a heavy period bc of the pills, but I've been unpleasantly surprised:-(

My lining check is Wednesday the 4th, and found out randomly through billing that I get a stitch placed then, too. I had one during my ER but of course didn't feel it because of the sedation. Has anyone else had to have a stitch placed"sober"?

So are you on the patches now? I will do my first baseline on 1/3 and then a follow up blood test on 1/6. Hoping my AF comes today so it doesn't throw any of the timeline off.

FET maaaaybe Jan but Bc of the blast testing maybe Feb. I dk why it should take 50 days to test them but w/e. At my count there were 6-7 follies- right now around 12-14 in size and some less than 10 so they won't catch up probably. We'll see!
You must be getting pumped for your FET!!!!

So maybe I'm back?? DH and I talked about the embryo testing and it might be around $9,000 which I don't just have in my pocket to throw at them. In thinking about it we decided against the testing and leaving it in God's hands. Scares the crap out of me in some ways but it makes me feel inpowered in other ways if that makes sense.

So at this point I'm just waiting on AF to show up. As long as she doesn't show up between the 21st-24th I think we will be on for January. We will see though!

@mtpbadger and @rainbowwishes5 The stitch goes "around " the cervix so they can pull it closer and insert catheter without much trouble. I'm not sure if it's protocol for everyone or just those like me with shy anatomy. But I'm not looking forward to it without drugs, it's getting done at my lining check so no Valium!
@BecauseLove I start oral estrogen three times a day and gel (same as patches pretty sure) on 12/21
It's weird that you start earlier and get checked a day earlier. They haven't mentioned bloodwork either. My estrogen jumped really high on my stim drugs (like 30 to 1500 in less than a week ). I might call and ask.

I ironically won a raffle at work 2 years ago this month full of baby stuff. Stroller, play pen, hamper and cute stuff. I may have jinxed myself!

@worldtravler0522 I get what you mean. DH and I talked about doing testing should we ever have to do another retrieval but don't think we would. There's so much science involved already in this process (which I am SO thankful for!) but if we were able to try naturally, that piece would be out of our control anyway and that gives me a little bit more peace. Fx that AF shows up soon!

@jessaber0414 yikes! That does not sound fun at all! Hopefully it's not as painful as it sounds and they at least numb you down there first if they don't give you any Valium or anything!

@mtpbadger I think my biggest thing other than the cost, which is a small fortune, is that I don't love the idea of thawing and refreezing our embryos. Something about it just makes me uneasy. Also you are absolutely right that if we had accomplished pregnancy the old fashion way we wouldn't have a say in it either. We might reconsider if we do another fresh cycle but with 10 frozen I don't think we will do another retrieval.

Just wanted to note...that I was really glad we did CCS testing..we found out that out of 8 happy day 6 almost hatched aa eggies that 4 of them were chromosomally bad which my age I suppose isn't surprising...but glad we didn't waste time trying to get those to implant when we could focus on the ones that were more likely to be successful.

We personally chose not to do PGS because our medical history doesn't show need for it. Also we have insurance coverage except for the thawing and freezing of embryo's it was more cost effective to keep going with FET's than to have them tested. All though I'm on FET #4 and kinda wishing we did the PGS. I've never had a stitch but supposedly there are no nerves in the cervix so maybe you will just feel the tugging? IDK AFM: 11 more days until I start meds. Luckily I had an old pack of BCP cause I ran out of active pills and walgreens wont let me refill yet. I'm getting nervous since my protocol will be slightly different than it has been. I'm just hoping for the best.

i have 2 days left of Letrozole. The first two days I had a terrible headache, but luckily it's better!

Hadn't really posted about my journey in a bit since I'm in kind of a limbo period, but....

Started estrace on the 17th (3x day- orally). My first lining check is this Thursday. I'm not really concerned about my estrogen levels or lining b/c last time everything was "perfect." So, in keeping with the same protocol I don't expect much difference.

I also had my first acupuncture appt last week- it went well. Not as relaxing as a massage, but hey, I'm happy anytime I get to just lay down and be a lump. Planning on going a few more times before the FET, as well as immediately after the FET.

Super pumped to be FET buddies with @mtpbadger !! We're almost 2 weeks out!

@lefemmeviolette that's crazy that you'll already be going for a lining check! I don't go until 12/29, so I'll have been on my meds for almost 2 weeks already! Granted, my lining is always SO slow so it's kind of pointless to come in any sooner, but I feel like that's pretty standard at my clinic. I'm jealous you get to take the estrace orally....I'm stuck with 2xday vaginally....ugh.

@LeFemmeViolette I'm doing acupuncture for the first time too. I really like it as I have anxiety and it does relax me. Maybe I already mentioned this (I have ZERO memory these days- anyone else have this as a side effect of all these hormones?), but the last time I went she said she was going to place the needles to help induce my period (we were wanting to get the show on the road). On the way home, I started cramping and by that evening I had started (I NEVER start at night). I was not a true believer until that day!

@mtpbadger Just curious since I've always done estrace orally... is the estrace you're taking in suppository form? Or are you just tossing pills up there every now and then?
