R/R: I have having this last week of school before break. We might as well end on Friday because I am currently just babysitting and not teaching.
Q/CS: FF gave me dotted CH for cd17. I got a positive opk on cd14 which is odd for me and I figured I geared up to O but didn't. I got positive opks cd18-19 as well so I assume I may O today. CS anyone? I don't know how to link my chart so here is a screen shot.
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received?
My best friend always gives funny gifts to people and one year she gave me a vibrator shaped like a carrot. It was weird. Hahhaha
Testing: bfn again (I have lots of wondfos to use lol)
R/R: working at Disney today to keep my hours. But all I really want to do is sleep.
Q/CS: huge temp drop today. Boo. Still above coverline but since this is the day I normally start spotting, I'm just waiting for that to start.
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received? I'm a teacher & once I got a partly used gift card from a kid. (He had taken it from his mom. His heart was in the right place but still weird)
CD/DPO: 29, 15 DPO (likely... but could also be 14)
Timing: -2, -1, +1
Testing: soon
R/R: I'm currently staying with my grandmother-in-law for a week. I volunteered to come here and stay with her while my in-laws, with whom she lives, are gone on a cruise, and so that her usual 5 day-a-week care worker could take some time off with her son while he visits from Beijing. I love my grandmother-in-law very much, but she is also 93, has 12 grandchildren of marriageable, baby-rearjng ages, and desperately wants a great-grandbaby, but has none. So she really puts the pressure on... I've seen her 4 times this year, and each time, the jokes about making a baby asap have become more and more sincere. When I arrived this time, she immediately asked me if I'm still getting my "monthlies." It put me in an awkward position, as I was on cycle day 27. DH and i havent shared with anyone that we are TTC. Only my BFF knows, and we weren't planning on sharing the news until end of first trimester. But I felt the need to explain the situation, because she prompted so explicitly. Now she's asking me after every meal (discreetly) if AF "monthlies" have come yet, and I'm regretting talking to her about it. I know it makes her happy to even know that we're trying, but it's still tough to deal with.
GTKY: strangest gift? Probably this creepy porcelain doll that the woman who was then dating my dad gave me on our first meeting. I was 17 at the time, so it seemed particularly strange that I would receive a doll from a total stranger, but whatever.
@Brooklyngirl6, your estrogen levels are probably just building. They're probably high (hence the OPK CD14) but not passing that elusive threshold to ovulation. Just do the baby dance and you'll get there eventually.
@purplg8r, lol partly used gift-card. Did you find out at the register buying something with it, or did your student tell you?
@dimsum4everyone I agree with the ladies yesterday. I would suggest just taking a test and if you get your bfp, just move straight on to your BMB
@hartmich I feel you on hating my body. Like why can't you just do what you were made to do!
Month/Cycle: 7/9
CD/DPO: 23/14ish
Timing: -1ish
Testing: nope, AF is on her way from my temp drop
R/R: I hate when I lie to myself. I told myself that I would be happy just to have a normal cycle again, even if I don't get my bfp. I'm so disappointed this cycle because that means that IF testing is actually going to happen. Now I just want AF to show up so that I can call and schedule my HSG and the SA for DH.
Q/CS: Not a question really but just afraid that my sister will say something insensitive again on Christmas and I won't be able to take it and will go off on her, most likely ruining Christmas for everyone
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received? The box full of random crap we got at our wedding. And I still have it just in case someone ever claims giving it to us. That and I'm kind of a pack rat.

ETAA: @dimsum4everyone Hey girl. soo... R/R: Going shopping with my mommy today for a gift for my husband! Hopefully we have some good luck finding his rare jean size.
Q/CS: I'm so emotional - PMSing. I just want to throw a tantrum 24/7 and get it my way. lol. Also, I have no symptoms that stand out that this cycle is different that the last few. I'm already trying to SS. I'm sad that my sore nipples are officially gone today! booo come back..

@lulu1180 Ugh I hear you on trying to prepare yourself and focus on the positive aspects of each cycle but it's so damn hard not to get your hopes up. We had totally shit timing but I didn't care, I wanted that BFP so badly and I was gonna be the one and done girl. My HSG is actually already scheduled and I couldn't stop picturing myself calling and cancelling. Why do we do this to ourselves?
@hartmich I totally feel you! I wasn't even truly trying this cycle because I was expecting another 16 day cycle. So the -1 that we happened to hit was because I hadn't had sex with my husband in a week and a half and I just wanted to get laid lol. I think the RE told me to call when my next cycle starts to schedule the HSG, which I'm really hoping I can schedule for Monday

@RedBreast35 A trash can??? That better be the coolest, most fancy trash can ever if it's a Christmas present! lol
Haha, we recently spent a lot on home improvement stuff, so we're getting each other functional lame gifts instead of anything fancy I'm pretty sure I'm getting him some draft stoppers and a new iron!

R/R: DS woke up wheezing, the poor thing. We had to pack up and head to the walk-in visits at our ped's. Thankfully, we got there before the big rush, and it looks like DS has a virus, on top of the ear infection he has. I feel awful for him, and I'm also hoping he doesn't share it with DH and I. Which is practically impossible, since he is in the phase of "Let's share all the foods!". And basically just shoving his hands in our faces all the time.
Q/CS: I think my thermometer battery is dying. It's taking about 90s for it to give a reading. It's not shocking, I got this one before I was pregnant with DS, but it's annoying none the less, and I'm not sure I can rely on the readings.
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received? For our wedding, one of DH's family members sent us this (obviously re-gifted) kangaroo and Joey (in the mother's pocket) salt and pepper shaker set. There was no explanation, so we were pretty sure it wasn't a family heirloom, haha. It went in the trash when we moved, it was awful.

R/R: RANT: I bit my tongue last night at dinner and it HURTS and is slightly swollen, so I just KEEP ON BITING IT. It's making me really grumpy. RAVE: I saw an article online last night about a train called the California Zephyr that goes from San Fran to Chicago, with really awesome scenery, and now I really want to go. I am trying to talk DH into it for next year.
Q/CS: Just waiting for this cycle to be OVER so I can move on to the next. I am tempted to drop the temping and rely on OPKs next cycle since temping makes me slightly obsessed and BSC, but it'll only be my third cycle temping and I think it's beneficial to me to see the data & better understand my cycle
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received? Hmm...I got Candyland as a gift from one of my aunts when I was around 12/13 years old.
@thebookisbetter I really want to go on the California Zephyr too! My H is not interested though since it's basically the same cost as flying to CA but takes way longer to get there. I really just want to enjoy the scenery though. Hopefully you can convince your DH.

Ugh it feels like there's a deluge of BFNs and CD1s up in here today (me included), sorry for everyone dealing with this so close to the holidays :-(
I totally relate with trying to find something positive every cycle when there's a BFN. This month I told myself, "well if you got pregnant this cycle that would be ANOTHER Virgo in the family (DH & my mom are both virgos) and wouldn't it be nice to have a Libra? Yes, I am aware this is ridiculous and insane.
I noticed there were a few teachers here, question for y'all-We chipped in for the class gift but I'd also like to get a little something for DS to give his teacher on his own. What's a good small gift for a teacher? Starbucks/Dunkin giftcard is always good, right?
@thebookisbetter I really want to go on the California Zephyr too! My H is not interested though since it's basically the same cost as flying to CA but takes way longer to get there. I really just want to enjoy the scenery though. Hopefully you can convince your DH.
Yes, it's definitely not cheaper! Especially if you get one of the sleeper cars. That was my DH's first question too. Like you, I want to go for the experience and the scenery, I don't like planes and I haven't seen that part of the country before, so I think it would be awesome. I figure maybe I can get him to compromise, train there, plane back :-)
R/R: Rave: It's my last full day of work this week and year! I still have reports to finish and emails to answer over the next few days, but at 6pm, I am leaving the office.
Rant: Annoyed with temping at the moment. I woke up at 5:15am, which is an unusual time for me (usually I routinely wake up at 4am). I was worried I wouldn't fall back asleep, so I decided to temp. It was 97.51 (which is a .3 temp drop). Now, it was 1 hour 15 minutes earlier than normal temp time, but geesh that is a huge temp drop. Well, I laid back down right away and was in a half dazed on and off sleep until 6:35am. I decided to temp for the heck of it and it was 98.22! What is weird is that my temp usually drops a lot once I wake up and get out of bed, it doesn't ever go up. So I don't necessarily trust this temp, but I put it in and included the 97.51 in my notes. I have a feeling my insomnia may be coming back, which would be the same time of cycle. My concern is that it might be a sign of low progesterone...but I guess I will wait and see.
Q/CS: Given what I said above, which temp would you use?
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received?
An eggtastic egg cooker from a colleague. I am notorious for making my breakfast at work. She noticed and she bought me the gift out of the blue (for no reason). It was very kind and I have used it, but it was an odd gift to receive from a colleague.
@dragonfly87. I think ppl usually say to put in the lower temp - it would still be an open circle anyway, so shouldnt mess with your ch - but if it makes them dotted, dont worry. Just notw the higher temp in the notes and the time, keep temping at your reg time if possible, and it may just turn out to be one weird blip on your chart this month. No biggie! ;)
R/R: I O’d so I’m going to come over here, but I’m not really
TWW-ing. Today is my last day at my current job. It’s weird. I have a lot to
finish up before I go, but things are starting to come in that I’m having to
step back from. This is no longer my circus; these are no longer my monkeys. I’ve
also had Closing Time by Semisonic in my head since I woke up this morning. “Every
new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end”
Q/CS:
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received? DH
and I became official in March of 2012, the Valentine’s Day before that he was
super unsure of whether he should get me a gift or what. I wasn’t making a lot
of money at the time and I guess at some point I’d mentioned to him that I
really wanted a Panini press, but could never justify the cost when you can
just grill sandwiches in a pan. So he turned up at my door on Valentine’s Day with
a Panini press. I think he felt it was non-romantic enough for where we were in
our dating relationship. It actually made me love him more because he had
listened, remembered and acted on something I didn’t even remember mentioning.
@thebookisbetter Gift cards to anywhere is the BEST. Thanks for thinking of the teacher!
To everyone dealing with BFNs and CD1s - all my love and hugs for you right now. This blows.

@purplg8r sorry for the bfn and temp drop
@lulu1180 Girl, I hear you on the positivity. I tell myself all the time, if I don't get a BFP, I'll still be happy if XYZ happens (or doesn't happen). I hope you can schedule your HSG for this coming cycle and get it out of the way
@hartmich sorry about the cramps

Not that strange I guess but for our wedding we got a nice grilling set. Not on our registry because at the time we didn't own a grill!

I'm just picking up on emotions from everyone so far about your situation, and if you truly know O, and you're 15 dpo, you're hanging a BFP over our heads and kind of flaunting it. If you were really sure of O, you wouldn't be acting this way about testing. Many ladies here don't have a full 14 day LP, and also have been trying for many many months. You're not being polite to them. Please just be honest that you're not sure of O and are waiting it out for that reason, or reconsider posting here while you wait the next 3 days because it's a little cruel.

Rave: It's my last full day of work this week and year!
An eggtastic egg cooker from a colleague. I am notorious for making my breakfast at work. She noticed and she bought me the gift out of the blue (for no reason). It was very kind and I have used it, but it was an odd gift to receive from a colleague.

R/R: I O’d so I’m going to come over here, but I’m not really TWW-ing. Today is my last day at my current job. It’s weird. I have a lot to finish up before I go, but things are starting to come in that I’m having to step back from. This is no longer my circus; these are no longer my monkeys. I’ve also had Closing Time by Semisonic in my head since I woke up this morning. “Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end”
Q/CS:
GTKY: What is the strangest gift you have ever received? DH and I became official in March of 2012, the Valentine’s Day before that he was super unsure of whether he should get me a gift or what. I wasn’t making a lot of money at the time and I guess at some point I’d mentioned to him that I really wanted a Panini press, but could never justify the cost when you can just grill sandwiches in a pan. So he turned up at my door on Valentine’s Day with a Panini press. I think he felt it was non-romantic enough for where we were in our dating relationship. It actually made me love him more because he had listened, remembered and acted on something I didn’t even remember mentioning.
To everyone dealing with BFNs and CD1s - all my love and hugs for you right now. This blows.
@dimsum4everyone I second the notion - if you really, truly are that many days past O then I think sitting out on these threads would probably be the kindest thing you could do for the rest of us. We appreciate your understanding. PS I really like your username.
