Registry stuff

Re: Registry stuff

  • My mom used them for my siblings when they were littles.  So of course, I got them too when I was expecting my first and they were great for catching spit-up.

  • I think it's A-ok to get any nursing stuff you want and put it on your registry.

However, I would 100% advise against buying nursing bras ahead of time.  You have no idea now what size you'll need then. They make sleeper/sports type nursing bras that are perfect for those snuggly first few weeks when all you're doing is healing/snuggling/skin to skin anyway.  Then, you can either order online or make one of your first trips out to get a bra or two for yourself.

  • I just completed an Amazon registry for myself to keep track.  I really have been thinking as a STM that we didn't need much...wrong!  Although it's obviously less than the first time, I hadn't really thought about all the stuff that would need replacing (bottles, pacifiers, things that broke like our bouncy chair, etc).  There are maybe only 30 things total, and some are just for fun/hopeful, but still!

  • I saw that babiesrus has registry consults for 30 min blocks.  Has anyone done this?

  • If anyone is thinking of getting a Tula, they are having 30% off today through Dec 31st!! Use code THX2016. Just got my standard baby carrier for about $100 (already have a toddler one that I love)!

  • @aboxofchocolates I haven't and would probably avoid it personally. They work for BrU not you, so I'd be inclined to think they'd try to convince you to add things you don't really need or go with more expensive options on some things too.  I did my own research with DD by talking to moms, going on forums etc. The lists stores give you include things like wipe warmers, they sound good until it dries out your last pack of wipes!

This. They're going to push for you to have more unnecessary stuff or more expensive versions of things because they want the sales for the stores. I also think that you're better off doing your own research.

Ill try try and find it while I'm at work today, but my SIL sent me a great 'bare bones' registry list when I was pregnant with DS that I used as a starting point.
