TTC after 35

**WARNING Bfp mentioned**

Oh ladies....
Posting this comes with so many emotions.
After the 5th time I vomited today, I took a test and there was NO question at all, two bright pink lines within seconds.
I'm in shock because we've been on this journey for longer than I could have ever imagined, and because nearly every year of my life something super intense and usually terrible happens in the month of December...so to have this gift instead...I'm truly blown away. Speechless.

There are of course fears of loss, so every day is going to be one foot in front of the other until we can breathe a true sigh of relief.
I feel like crap so I don't know how much posting I'll do, but I really am cheering you all on.
I'm not ready to move boards yet if that's okay that I stick around a little longer?

Thank you to all that really cheered me on over the years and months and even just weeks for anyone I've just met :)
I'm still wishing BFP's on all of you. Xoxo

  • @thistle8677 OMG I am so thrilled for you! I just read this to my husband after five minutes prior having JUST told him that nobody on our board had had a BFP since like June and that we all needed some motivation from at least ONE of us getting one! I was just telling him I had this feeling about you and then logged on to read this awesome news!!! I'm typing this with happy tears in my eyes. Many blessings to you!!!

happy dance!!!! I'm so happy you tested.  I told you that I felt like death when I was first pregnant with DD.  Congrats and hope you have a happy and healthy 9 months with a beautiful healthy baby!  EEEKKK!  I know I haven't known you for very long but I'd be happy if you stayed around for a bit.  Maybe you will break the seal for the rest of us :)  I saw a shooting star on the way home from yoga tonight and I wished for a little baby.  I'm glad you finally got yours.

If the puking continues ask your OB for zofran.  It was a life saver for me.  I took it my entire pregnancy.  I was so sick with my daughter.  Sucking on peppermints and chewing on ginger gum will really help with the nausea as well.  You can get ginger gum at CVS in the medicine aisle.  Also smelling pure essential lavender oil will help as well.

ETA - were you doing anything different this cycle?  Just curious.

  • @thistle8677 - it makes me so happy to hear that.  Glad your mans health is improving.  I guess sometimes it takes that moment of realizing it may not happen and looking into other options for it to happen.  Glad you didn't have to IVF - I know we could never afford it.  Now I'm hoping we can all get the BFP ball rolling!  I for one am very positive this month as both of my tests came back good this week.  Just 2 more and then I will just feel so relieved.  For me its that "what if" that has been in my mind the last few months.  what if my tubes are blocked, what if a hormone if out of range, what if DH has some sperm issues - I will feel so much more at peace by the end of this month.

  • How is your wife feeling???
    Lilypie Pregnancy tickers
  • She's good, although nervous.  She's never been on birth control before, let alone this crazy concoction of hormones.  But she's adjusting!  My last birth control pill was last night, and I'm already taking lupron, will start estrogen in a few days.  Her last birth control pill is next week, with a base line Jan 3, and then it's loads of shots and ultrasounds until the egg retrieval.
