Re: Monday bf 12/11
Monday afternoon my boss sent me home (tried to get me to go to the hospital but I insisted that I wanted to be home as long as I can when laboring). She didn't want me to drive myself because my contractions were about 3 1/2 - 4 minutes apart and getting pretty strong. I didn't think they were the real deal yet any ways, but I couldn't not focus any longer and was freaking out my peers so home I went. SO had Monday and today off work. So when I asked him to drive me in to the office today (less than a 20 minute drive) he said no. I thought he was kidding.
So far I've heard the following excuses: I don't know how to get there, what if I get lost? I had a bad dream that I got into a car accident on my way to Canada, I'm freaking out about driving right now. I'm worried that my car can't handle the snow (from Sunday, the roads have been clear for 24 hours mind you). I don't think you should work any more this pregnancy, it's giving you contractions. DD has a game tonight after school.
How the eff does any one of those things inhibit you from driving me to work? If I feel comfortable going into the office for a few hours today then damn it I'm going to go.
So I had to text my coworker at 630 this morning to see if he'll come pick me up.
Thanns guys for letting me vent a bit. Overall H is really helpful and picks up the slack like whoa, but I'm just not a morning person in general on top of not sleeping through the night while he's sawing logs *eye rolls 4 dayz*. What was awesome though was that yesterday morning while I had DD in bed with me, he came up stairs before work. He was talking to DD about how she needs to stay in bed until it's light out and yadda yadda (you know, just reasoning with a 2 year old little woman) and she looks at him and says, "No daddy. You go downstairs now." I nearly died. It was amazing. This is our routine and it works and if you don't like it, get outta here!
@ajstevenson ummmm is he for real??
Yes, he was totally serious. I get the idea that he is worried about me driving myself around and going into labor at work, but the way he responds to things sometimes is dumbfounding. I did speak with my boss this morning about the rest of this pregnancy and work and she's agreed to let me work half days from home or come and go as I need to at this point. I think it's a fair compromise.
ETA: So this is no longer a BF but a BF resolution. Yay!

I have a Tuesday bitch fest. If you've been following my family drama, my 21 year old cousin just announced today she is pregnant with baby number 2. At least this time we know who the father is, but still. She just moved back in with her mom and she's trying to get her life together and now she's going to have 2 under 2. This is the oldest daughter of the cousin who is going back and forth on divorcing her husband of 7 months (who, btw, she is divorcing on Friday).

But ya, talking with someone directly might get you more favorable results
So I'm on Tricare, which is great when it comes to covering breast pumps and feeding supplies. Theoretically. I got my prescription from the OB, bought the pump and the Kiinde bottle system off Amazon, filed my claim as instructed. A month later, I got a notice that they'd rejected my claim. WTAF.
I called Tricare (West region) and asked them what was going on. The woman told me that the code was incorrect, and when I asked her what code needed to be used, she said, "We don't give out that information." Again. WTAF. So you want me to go back to the OB for a new prescription and have her guess at the problem?
I drag my feet for a couple days and eventually find my prescription in my scanned documents so I can take it back up to the on-base OB (a half hour away, mind you!) and what do you know? The code is right, according to a Tricare manual I've discovered online. And, AND, it doesn't match the filed code on the claim rejection notice.
So I call Tricare back and it turns out the problem is on their end! Their system isn't filing my claim correctly, and is changing the code. They're rejecting me for something that's not even my fault! Thank goodness I was persistent and didn't just give up when I saw the rejection, which is exactly what I wanted to do.
All this is to say, they re-filed my claim and I just got my check in the mail today. Yasssss. And I did all this without crying! I'm starting to turn into an adult!
