This is a weekly check-in for those in their 2nd trimester: weeks 14 through the end of week 27.
Congrats to all the strong ladies who have made it this far! It's such a great feeling and we've all accomplished so much! We are now 1 week closer to the end of this especially long journey we call "infertility".
Please post below a little about yourself, how many beans you have growing inside, if you have found out the sex(es) and what your EDD is. Please also let us know how far you've made it on your journey and when your next appointment is and what for. If I'm missing anyone from this list, please let me know and I will add you.
Mommies to be:
QOTW: Have you and your SO talked about or decided on any baby names?
Re: 2nd Tri Check In Week Of 12/12
I have definitely noticed much more movement this past week, and DH has been able to feel kicks nearly every day, which is way awesome! I'm pretty positive that I've felt all three of them move, though I think I feel B most often. I'll ask at my appointment for confirmation of whose feet are where.
QOTW: DH never wants to talk about baby names. Whenever I say any, he just sort of shrugs and says "eh". So not helpful. My current front runner girls names are Clementine, Edith and Elsie. DH completely shot down my boy favorite, Griffin with Finn as a nickname, so I have to go back and look at my other top names. I think most people would think that getting to pick 6 names would be great because you can use all your favorites, but that hasn't been the case for me at all.

We officinally announced on Facebook yesterday, with a very DH-made announcement:
My friends got such a kick out of it and we got a lot of Star Wars-esque comments. Felt nice a nerdy! (It says May because I'll be induced at 39 weeks, which puts us at May 27th).
Anyway, I'm 15+2 today and my round ligament pain is easing up but now my back is killing me. I went to the OB on Thursday just for a quick check-up because my aches and pains were so bad, but as a bonus we got to listen to our baby again, so I love that part
QOTW: Yes, we have had our baby's name picked out since a month before our FET. Arielle Nicole. We are following Jewish tradition and picking the first letters of first and middle name after deceased relatives.
@AandDM2014 FWIW I love all your baby names! I can't even imagine how hard it must be to come up with 3 names when even coming up with 1 is tough! Maybe your DH will feel more strongly about names once he meets the little ones

I have an OB appointment later this week, and I plan to talk to them about my options. But when I brought it up at the last appointment, they were just like, "Well try relaxing in the evening before you go to bed, and the nausea should ease up soon." Yeah. Not helpful.
QOTW: We are having a hard time coming up with a name. We named DS after DH - they are the III and IV of their name, so that was an easy pick. Coming up with another boy name we love has been a challenge. I'll be looking at this thread through the week for some inspiration!
ETA:
@wifeinraleigh28 What a cute announcement! I love it! You look great!
@AandDM2014 That is so cool that you can feel each one kick! And those are great baby names, too! It must be hard to come up with so many options... We're having trouble with just one!

@AandDM2014 Choosing boy's names has been very difficult for us too. We disagree on all the boy names. My favorite was Silas but he said no. The only name he suggests is Payton which is a grandparent's last name. I appreciate the sentiment, but I hate it! Waaaaaay too trendy.
I'm 20 weeks today! Halfway there! Our anatomy scan is Wednesday, and I can't wait. So many of my fb friends are due the week after me and they are all announcing the genders this week! Everybody on here already knows! Patience is not one of my virtues.
As for names, we have decided on Della for a girl. If it's a boy, we might just call it Thing One because we literally cannot agree on anything!

I dont know if any of you have had similar experiences, but we live in the coldest damn place and of course none of my winter coats fit me anymore, but not being the tiniest lady, its been a huge pain in the ass to find a coat that will fit as my stomach begins to protrude more and more. Any advice? Just get a mens coat? A plus size one? The maternity ones seem flimsy and I need one that will do its job in -10 degree weather, which I've been informed is coming later this week. Blech.
We went to a couple xmas parties this weekend, where friends' little ones seemed way more interested in my husband and me than normal. It was extremely sweet but also bizarre - can they like, smell the soon-to-be-parenthood on us? Also learned husband's favorite new party trick is seeing what sizes of glassware can balance on my tummy when i sit down. Hiiiiilarious.
@wifeinraleigh28 - your announcement is adorable. Its like the exact kind of thing my husband would make.
QOTW: We have narrowed it down to 2 names, seemingly. Made the mistake of telling my mom who had immediate problems with both. She felt one of the names (Owen - cute, right?) was a "serial killer's name" which a. sounded crazy to us and b. didnt seem accurate. We actually went on Wikipedia and found the list of all the serial killers. Guess what? No Owens. My mom's favorite name is Henry (which, to be fair, is a very cute name). Bad news, Mom. 8 serial killer Henrys. Mom is officially no longer privy to our naming discussions. If any of you have moms who are bananas like mine, I suggest you do the same. (I love her v much, but she is bananas).

Halips has contacted me, and unfortunately the bleeding she had at 15 weeks escalated until she was hospitalized at 18 weeks. Right before Thanksgiving she went into preterm labor, and after 30 hours of attempting to stop the bleeding and contractions, she gave birth to her baby girl. Her and her husband picked out the name Evangeline, and she was perfect. They are still grieving, but slowly each day is getting better. She still plans to check in on us, but most likely won't be posting. She wishes nothing but the best for us, and hopes to join the PaIF board again soon.

@alaaronson Thankfully my coat still zips. I'll keep rocking this one even if it doesn't zip because I love in a place that doesn't get too terribly cold. You might have to invest in layers of you can't find a coat thick enough to cover bumpus. Good luck!

Also, I agree with @AandDM2014 that it's wise not to tell anyone about names until you've made your final selection. And when you do announce, make sure people know it's your final decision so that they don't make any weird or annoying commentary, like it's up for debate... I had some bad experiences last time around!
@AandDM2014 and @halips My heart is breaking at this news. Halips' family is in my thoughts and prayers.

@alaaronson I went to Good will the other day and RAIDED the maternity stuff. This little munchkin was our last embryo and if we decide to have a sibling we have already done the first steps to adopt through foster care so I can't stand the idea of spending loads of money on a few months. I didn't see any jackets so I just perused the jacket section and found one that should hopefully cover my bump until winter is over! I think your mom's serial killer concerns are awesome ha ha!! too funny!

Hi Ladies – I ‘m so excited to be joining you this week. I am 14+5 today - EDD 6/8. We are having a boy! Our next appt is after Christmas.
I’ve been battling a cold on an off since thanksgiving. I’ve finally broken down today and planning to take some meds that the OB said I could to try to get rid of this. I don’t feel that horrible, I just feel like I’ve had it for too long.
QOTW: barely. We decided to put off any significant planning until our 20 week appt (or at least after the holidays) so that we can just enjoy being pregnant for a while. However, we are definitely not telling anyone our names as I really don’t want others opinions – ha! When we told people we were pregnant my husbands 7 year old nephew threw out a few names and my mother in law immediately rejected them, so there’s no way I’m opening myself to that.

I am 16 weeks and 2 days with twins. I am starting to feel what I assume is one of the babies moving. I get it about the same time every night or when I eat certain things. I font know if both of the babies are close to the same spot or if I am only feeling one. I go to the OB tomorrow for a check up. I am a bit concerned because I don't think I am gaining weight like I should. I seem to be loosing fat everywhere and gaining a belly slowly. hopefully they are okay with this. I am also hoping that they have a hard time with the doppler tomorrow so I can see our little nuggets!
QOTW - We have talked baby names and have a few picked out. If they are boy and girl I think we will do Everly and Patrick. If it is 2 boys we are thinking Patrick and James and two girls would be Everly and Cecilia. I am trying to keep the names a secret until they are here but I am not a good secret keeper. The only name I think our families will question is Everly because it is different and doesn't have a family connection.
@wifeinraleigh28 - your announcement is adorable!
alaaronson - I am in the same situation with coats. I don't know what to do because I hate spending so much money on a coat I will only wear one year. I haven't found a solution yet. I have asked DH to buy me one for Christmas so I don't have the buyers guilt.

I'm 19 weeks and had my anatomy ultrasound a few days ago--I had been worried it would be a little too early to see everything properly but it wasn't a problem; everything looked good and healthy, luckily. The baby refused to get into a proper profile position: it was fine for diagnostic purposes but not for ~preshus lil' photos~ to share; they all look like weird blobs!
My nausea has pretty much cleared up, finally, and has given way to spectacular heartburn. I have an appointment today and will see about getting something prescription strength, because I'm tired of feeling like I'm swallowing knives that are dipped in acid and also on fire.
QOTW: Sigh, my husband was also kind of uncooperative, but in a different way. I had pictured we would talk and brainstorm and dream for months and months and not really have a solid name until pretty late in the game, but at like 7 weeks we chatted about names and found some we liked and he was like OK WE'RE DONE HERE and won't discuss it any further because "we already chose names and WE ARE EFFICIENT."
Our one neurosis about the baby's names is that we're keeping them in a vault between the two of us: I felt like this pregnancy has been such an open book because of my commitment to honesty regarding IF and IVF, which then necessarily included very early announcing that this cycle had worked. There hasn't been anything that we felt was private between my husband and me, so it's been nice to have this sweet little secret just for us. Once we announced it was a girl my family has had a lot of fun throwing out names semi-seriously, and have come DANGEROUSLY CLOSE to guessing (in fact, someone already suggested the first name, along with a second name identical in initial and syllabic structure to the middle name), but they haven't bugged me to tell them for sure. HOWEVER my husband's step mom, whom I've spoken to like 4 times in my life, is weirdly obsessed with finding out and has complained to other family members about my unwillingness to share. Chill out, lady.

It's funny reading how everyone's DHs react to naming. Mine did the same... was not very cooperative, and then once HE wanted to discuss names, we had them picked out - done, end of story. I like talking about names and toying around with different ones... but not him. I think it stresses them out. Men just want to check the box and move on.
@halips I'm so incredibly sorry to hear about your sweet baby girl. I hope you are able to grieve in peace. Lots of prayers for you and your family.
QOTW: We have names picked out, but are keeping them to ourselves... trying not to get commentary from everyone about them. And I always find it's awkward when someone tells you their baby names... idk how I'm supposed to respond, and it feels fake and forced. Soooo... it's a secret! We aren't finding out the sex, so we have 2 picked out. I still want to try to weasel in a name that DH shot down - Maren (girl). I will probably have little success bc apparently we are in a naming freeze... *eyeroll*.

I'm so sick right now. I have fluid in my lungs, a sore throat, can't speak, and body aches and pains everywhere. I called my OB to ask the advice nurse if I should be seen or not, and she told me what medications I can take and told me to see my PCP if my symptoms don't improve soon. Ugh. @AandDM2014 thank you for letting us know @ halips. Heartbreaking.
@kelrauh I didn't gain weight for a while and I was concerned I wasn't eating enough due to nausea, etc. especially when I compared myself to others' bumps, but my OB wasn't concerned and told me the baby takes what it needs.
I don't have any appointments until my glucose test in about 3 weeks. There is a lot going on right now with the holidays and like others have mentioned I am having to add to my winter wardrobe to accommodate my growing bump. I swapped my body pillow for a u-shaped pillow this week and so far it has helped with sleeping. Less flipping and I don't have to be all the way on my side.
QOTW: We've picked our baby's name and already have nicknames for her. We got unsolicited input on our first name choice that kind of ruined it for us. We ultimately decided against it because it's common, but learned to not share our second baby name pick. I think someone on here said that once people meet the baby, the name will fit and knowing that it is a done deal they are less likely to criticize it (in front of us
