@kassyfry Holy shit! That catfishing thread just made my impossibly boring conference call a little more bearable. So disturbing that someone would create a fake profile to interact with mommas for years!!! I'm never joining an internet group with you weirdos!!!...... jk. When the time is right I want you all to be my bffs.

God I remember when that catfishing thread originally happened, I was pregnant with DD at the time and active on a few boards. It was amazing. It is also why there's no way I'd join a FB group before weeding out the crazies first, and also that FB group would have to be private. It is also why I don't post pictures here. According to the TOU, once you post a pic on TB, it becomes TBs property or whatever...so I don't participate in HDBD or anything like that. I think I posted a picture of DD one time shortly after she was born, and that was it. I do post pics on FB but I have a private profile so only my friends/family can see it. Doesn't guarantee that one of them isn't stealing it and using it to catfish people on an online community, but I feel like it lessens the probability of that happening since I at least know the people that can see it.

My mom got DD a Kindle Fire tablet for Christmas and I set it up yesterday (the entire purpose of this is that we have to fly home for the holidays and she has been a complete beast on her last few flights - she doesn't like to be contained for long periods of time). It's pretty sweet. I have a few Disney movies downloaded on there and I'm hoping that will get us through. I let her watch the first 20 minutes of Finding Nemo on there yesterday and she was delighted. We are saying that we'll only give her the tablet when we're on an airplane or a long car ride, but I bet as soon as #2 comes out she'll be seeing that thing a lot more often. If only I could download Sesame Street for free in some way, I'd be all set.

@delujm0 we have the kindle fire for my son and my parents are getting my daughter one for Christmas. The amazon free time app is awesome. It has a lot of apps, shows, games pre downloaded and you can set the age range and the timer for how long they can have it for when they get a little older. We do that as a wind down for my son before bed so he knows when it is time to bring it out and go to sleep. You pay a small fee for it, but we love it.

@neludelu If you go to July 2017 look for the thread title I posted. Then look for the link inside that thread towards the bottom of the discussion. I am on mobile so was having trouble copying and pasting all the relevant links. And now that I read my original post I see that it doesn't make sense.

@EmeraldNC no the original catfish girl Jen and the "wife" Ana never came back. But towards the end someone from that group contacted them by text message, alerted the girl whose pictures they sold, and then somehow the show Catfish from mtv got involved. Amazing piece of Bump history

@FSUNole13 do you have the actual Kids' version? I didn't get that one because my boss had gotten it for his kids and reported that all of the pre-installed bloatware took up too much memory. I just got a regular HD 8 tablet with a kid-proof cover and a bunch of extra memory. It does still have a kids profile option and the ability to use Free Time though. For now since she's not going to have it alone basically ever (she'll be 18 months next week) we're just going to roll with it I think...I already downloaded the Disney Junior app that has a bunch of games, etc. If this thing survives until she's older (which would be amazing considering it cost $100) we'll probably start doing Free Time. And actually set up a Kid profile so she can't like go into the Amazon store and start buying things without us knowing. :-)

@delujm0 we just have the regular ones. It does take up a lot of memory though, I just go through and delete/archive the apps he doesn't use to help free up the space. He is a bit older (4) but they are really nice to have an hopefully grow with them!

Ahh, yes, I found it ironic that the catfisher came to our BMB claiming she had been catfished.

I now have a headache from reading all of this.

I also have to lol towards the end at the people upset that the catfisher's personal info was posted and her family contacted, as they were the exact group of people from Parenting who contacted our (M14) "catfisher" and her husband, family, and her husband's place of employment.

I called out of work on Thursday/Friday last week because I had to take my fiancé to the hospital/stay there (he's fine now.) So I definitely had to come in today. Today has been hellacious. Terrible weather, awful traffic, a slew of kids with problems, and the worst migraine I have had in years all day. I'm pissed I wasted my time off on him.

@LMMama, isn't that the worst! I've been off since Thursday too, however DH went to the ER for chest pains (he has a history of heart attack), turns out it was pneumonia, so legit sick, but I was supposed to go in today and he started throwing up last night (our girls have had the stomach bug), it's inevitable that I am next, but I'll have to suck it up because I used all my time on him last week.

My first BMB we have a FB group, and I meet up with my faves pretty regularly (4-5 times a year). But now I am a bit freaked out and think I might have just gotten lucky!

I don't have time to read the whole Catfish thread but I skimmed through the first couple of pages. Wow!!! It amazes me that someone has the time to make fake profiles and put on such pretenses. I'm busy enough just keeping my own life straight....forget about making up a fake life, too! That takes some talent (and innate ability to be a pathological liar....).

On another note, we hosted a holiday party this past weekend and spilled the news to about 25 of our friends. They were SO excited, they completely lost it...screamed, jumped around, so many hugs and kisses, people crying...we knew they would be excited, but their reaction was beyond what we could've imagined. We wish we would've gotten it on video so we could capture and replay their exuberance. It was really very special.

@delujm0 I don't know if it's helpful or not but apparently Netflix is allowing it's users to download movies/episodes of everything they offer, just for the reason of the users being unable to stream while in a plane. I haven't tried it out yet, but I figured I'd mention it.

Also, I'm on my way to go read the catfish thread....

WOW!!!!!!!!!! I just wasted 40 minutes of my day reading through a couple pages of that crazy cat fish post. CRAZY! Does this post make anyone else question about posting on here from here on out? I really do get some good insightful information from all of you ladies about pregnancy stuff. I guess just being cautious will have to do for now.

On another note the heartburn has returned. It went away for about 2 weeks but then came back with a vengeance. Does anyone else feel like they're gaining too much weight too quickly? I didn't lose any from vomiting or anything in the beginning. I weighed myself this morning and gained 2.5lbs from last week. Ugh :-( So I'm up 12lbs now.

Meh... Just reminds me of TB style pre-exodus. In fairness to that BMB, they had been played for a year by that person. We also don't have a view into their BMB dynamics or member relationships. I imagine they opened up about a lot and shared detail of intimate circumstances with someone they believed to be genuine (pictures, birth stories, etc) and felt pretty betrayed to an extent.

I feel like I am gaining way too fast. I had previously lost a ton of weight and instantly got sick as soon as I got pregnant so I'm sliding back quickly. The doc said it's fine but I'm not a big fan of big me right now.

Oh JenSavicci... That was my BMB with my son! The entertainment that she provided was endless. We broke Facebook threads a few times over her. I'll have to go read that thread because I'm curious what's all in there and as a lovely trip down memory lane.

Also, that bitch was cray and deserved everything that came to her. She stole pictures of people and children and claimed them as her own for over a year. I'm sorry but she got no sympathy from me when the truth started being revealed.

@neludelu I lost a lot of weight a long time ago. I was 245 when I graduated from high school which was forever ago. Been in the military since but I just feel out of control with my weight right now. Which I did know was going to be a huge hurdle for me with pregnancy while we were trying to get pregnant. Oh well, I guess I just need to continue trying my best and staying active.

Regarding weight.. I am normally a very small frame. I love to eat and kill myself working out everyday to eat the way I want. With both my pregnancies, I vowed to just relax and eat what I craved and not worry about my body. I gained 80lbs with the first and 60lbs with the second. BEST DECISION EVER!! I loved not caring that I was the hot pregnant girl and just happy while pregnant.

I can be skinny the rest of my life. Pregnancy is not the time! Taco Bell and Buscemi's Torpedo subs for this gal!

I feel so worthless after work. I literally come home, turn on Disney junior for the kids and veg out on my phone for a good 30-40 minutes. I feel so bad about not interacting/playing with them but I am mentally and physically just done. My classes this year are no joke.

@FSUNole31 I feel that way too. I am so much more tired this pregnancy. But the fact that you feel bad about it says what a good mom you are.
DD has hit full on threenager phase. It doesn't matter what choices I give her, she wants something I didn't even offer. Everything is a fight with her. EVERYTHING! And the tantrums are out of control. It makes me want to just not talk to her. DH and I are off next week and the week after, and we have so many fun things that we want to do with her as her last holiday season being just her. I'm tempted to say we will be doing none of it. We're trying rewards, consequences, being consistent. I know this is so very normal. But she's a particularly strong willed kid. It'll serve her well as an adult, but it's gonna be a long road with her until she gets there.

I was really nauseous and barely ate the last few days. My appetite came back full force on the way to work. I ate two bacon cheeseburger sliders in the Sheetz parking lot at 6:40 in the morning. No regrets because I was back to nothing looking good at lunch and dinner today.

@Mtnmommy my daughter will be 3 in January and we have been seeing more and more flashes of the threenager coming out. We just got through it with my son who turned 4 in August and I must say it has been night and day with him. Hang in there, a light is at the end of that tunnel!

@awoodruff27 tearing was my biggest and pretty much only fear of giving birth. It actually was nothing and was one of the "easiest" parts for me. I had a 4rth degree tear with my second (10lbs baby). They put a local on and I didn't feel a thing! The stitching afterwards was annoying, cause all I wanted to do was put my legs down and hold my baby, but that's about it.
