R/R: so apparently my mom opened a breast milk donation center at a hospital yesterday and it was a huge deal (she's a lactation consultant). I had no idea. We're close but don't talk all the time (my doing. I don't really talk to anyone a lot unless it's in person). Well apparently she had posted it on Facebook. I didn't see it. I got a long text message last night that literally said I sucked as a daughter. She always dreamed of having a little girl who she was close to and it never happened. And so on. This happens every few months. And I feel bad. But it's just not me. I don't talk to anyone unless I literally see them every day. So that's fun

Q: Nope, nothing at the moment.
GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? It depends on time of day/ how I'm feeling. Coffee is strictly for mornings, because if I have it after lunch, I'm wired until 2am. I love tea for relaxing in the evenings or when I'm not feeling well. Hot chocolate is something I used to share with close friends in my last lab during the winter, we would always have hot chocolate breaks in the afternoon! And it MUST have marshmallows, or else it's terrible hot chocolate. :-p

R/R: Little bit of both. ***TW*** My parents have decided that they REALLY need to come and see us tomorrow. We live a little over an hour from each other and it's one of those "we're too far away for them to visit but why don't we visit it them more it's not that far" situations. They haven't been out to our house in over a year, and I know the only reason they're coming is because of the M/C. DH and I have been processing everything really well. And we're generally okay discussing it with each other on our terms, but this is not on our terms. I'm worried that my parents are going to want to go over everything in detail and that that will cause us to back slide into the very not okay place that we were just a few days ago. I appreciate that they are coming I just don't think it's the best thing for us right now.
Q: ***TW*** Has anyone ever heard of a connection between light periods and increased chance of M/C? I just noticed this morning that AF is on her way out. Last month was also a short cycle, and I'm wondering if this is something I should talk to my OB about.
GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
If I need a morning pick me up, coffee. If I'm sick, then tea. I'll have hot chocolate if it's snowing or we were outside in the snow.

@lulu1180 That makes me concerned for myself! I only have 2-3 days of flow. The first day is REALLY heavy- like, 3-4 super tampons kind of heavy but still. Maybe I'll throw a email at my OB.
Hi ladies, I go here now...
@purplg8r I am so sorry you got that message from your mom. I am the same way, and I really hate talking on the phone so I am pretty bad with keeping in regular contact with everyone. I am constantly getting shit from my family about it, and like you I feel sooooo bad, and no matter how hard I try to be better about it I always go back to the same habits.

The trades of hope party was nice last night.... The conversation, not so much. *TW* My SIL's MIL was talking to me about our new house, and OF COURSE that had to turn to the, "when are you starting a family" convo... I brushed it off with a simple, "oh you know, we've started trying a bit" and obviously got the "just get drunk and relax" response. I resisted the urge to stay that we tried the "relax" method for about 7 months... Also, the presenter was pregnant and due in January, so there were standard conversations about that.*end TW* Whatever. I'm obviously just a negative person right now.
On the upside, H and I picked an RE and have an apt for 1/11, which is quicker than I thought we'd get one, so that's good!

@KariAnn323 Ugh. Sorry that your parents aren't giving you the space to grieve and process your M/C on your own terms. Can you ask that they give you a little more space and that you'll reach out to them when you're ready? Re your Q: My AF has been about 3 days long (only 2 days of real flow and a day or two of just spotting) for the last few years. I asked 2 OBGYNs and my RE about it and showed any concern about it affecting TTC in any way - getting pregnant or staying pregnant. If you're concerned, I would totally bring it up to your OB.
@lulu1180 I hope you get your results back soon!

Hey @KariAnn323 @lulu1180 @kiwi2628 @cheframsey to help address your fears, normal period duration is 2-8 days. I think the biggest concerns are for either super *light* periods (like, going through very few pads/tampons) or super heavy or long periods. CD4 and AF on her way out doesn't strike me as concerning unless your flow has been little more than spotting the entire 4 days.
From FF in case it's helpful to see the bell curve: https://www.fertilityfriend.com/Faqs/Menstrual-Period-Length-Stats-Study.html
What you ladies are describing sounds within the normal curve...try not to borrow trouble before you get some good info!! ETA but if you're concerned about it, there's no harm in asking your doctor.

Last night though I we went to play pool and have a few drinks with my best friend and her boy friend. Her other friend (not mutual, she just met her) showed up and started hitting on her boyfriend (DH noticed too). Since we've been friends for 18 years I told her what I noticed. Also- I am reading The Art Of Waiting and posted a snap of me reading on the couch and one of my friends texted me that she is reading it too. It opened a whole conversation and we realized we are going through the same thing. Between that and joining this board I am feeling a lot better about my support system lately!

(I'm hoping he's feeling better tonight because we have a very expensive event that we've already pre-paid for!) I'm super-thankful to the lab tech who called all over the place yesterday since my PCP put in an order for me to PIAC instead of get BW. (If my FMU is a BFN, then why would you test for it in the middle of the day?!) I was able to get my BW done before they closed the lab because of that great tech! FMU today is still a BFN. Meanwhile, still no AF and very sore BBs. Why are you messing with me, body?

I am thinking about avoiding it for a month or two until things start to feel more normal, but it's usually just part of my internet habit in the evenings it's almost second nature to just browse.
GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
Black tea usually. Occasionally hibiscus tea...until I read about what it can do to you for fertility...now I am terrified to drink another cup of it again. Probably an over reaction, but I can live without hibiscus tea.
@Breath_Easy92 I think this thread may have confused you. CD 1 is full flow not spotting so if you start spotting on Monday but don't really have flow until Tuesday, CD 1 is Tuesday.

vegetalienne I would suggest using second morning urine and also testing between 10am and 6pm. I usually start using them around 2-3 days before expected O. Also, not sure what kind you bought, but the wondfos are super cheap. They aren't always as clear or easy as the smiley face kind, but I bought 100 opks and 20 hpts for $22 on amazon.

@purplg8r I’m sorry you and your mom are having some hard times. I’m awful over the phone too, I find myself tallying up things I have to talk about before I call my mom. @KariAnn323 I’m sorry about your parents, if you want some advice on a way to handle them keep reading. If you’re just venting then I’m sorry, that really sucks and I hope it goes better than you think it will.
I am absolutely not trying to say this situation is the same at all, but when we were wedding planning my mom started asking questions about how much my in-laws were contributing to the wedding. I found that really inappropriate and had to decide right then that this was a boundary we weren’t going to cross and I had to repeatedly say “I don’t think we should talk about that” before she got it. Decide between you and your DH what you will and won’t talk about. Beyond that, come up with a statement like “I don’t want to talk about that” and just stick to it. Repeat as many times as necessary.
@zwink1 That’s awesome that you got into the RE so quickly!
@JulesDP totes jealous of your HP Christmas. Can I come?
@sagegrove What kind of support to midwives provide during TTC? Can they do any testing?
Month/Cycle: 9/8 TTC, 1 TTA
CD: 9
WAYDTGKU: Nada see R/R
R/R: DH and I sat down last night to talk about this month and decided that we would TTA this month. With me starting a new job in January, figuring out leave, and our FW falls during a difficult (long hours) work week for DH this month. We decided that it would be extremely stressful to try this month and a BFP would probably be met with more stress than anything else. I’m sad, but I know this is the right decision. I’m trying to look forward to having sex because I want to and not because I have to. I also plan to drink all the caffeine and alcohol I desire.
On a slightly amusing note: I’m out of PNV and tampons. I’m contemplating buying them both together and seeing if I can make some high school check out boy’s head explode.
Q:
GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? Coffee always and forever.
@KariAnn323 ugh, I'm sorry that is so tough. Have you tried explaining that you and DH are doing really well, but don't want to speak about it with them?
@lulu1180 waiting for test results is THE WORST. FX you get answers soon.
@kiwi2628 @Cheframsay same here.... I have a 3-4 day period with maybe 1 day of heavy flow (this includes any spotting). My ob/gyn didn't seem concerned when I mentioned it to him, but now I'm worried.
@Pinky917 sorry for CD1 *hugs*
@zwink1 I'm glad you got a RE appointment so quickly! Sorry you had to endure yet another "just relax" convo.
@virginiaham thanks for the info regarding period duration!
@Breath_Easy92 CD1 is the first day of full flow, you shouldn't count spotting beforehand.
@daisymae6215 ugh, sorry that really is a crappy day. FX tomorrow is better.

WAYDTGKU: all the regular stuff, plus DH is going in for a SA on Monday
R/R: *Dear Diary Rant* Feel free to skip.
So, (as some may recall from yesterday) my MIL may or may not come stay for the night. It depends on the roads. Anywho, I had told my DH that because he has this week off and I'm busy with work, the Dickens Festival, and the play, it's up to him to make sure the house is clean. He's done SOME cleaning, but it's certainly not "ready for company" clean. I know his mom is laid back, but I'm still not OK with the house not being clean.
This morning I mentioned what still needed to be done in the house, and he said "well, I need to clean the garage." Um, YOUR MOM ISN'T GOING TO HANG OUT IN THE FRIGGIN' GARAGE. So, this morning before work I cleaned the toilets, took trash out, and cleaned the cat litter box in an effort to help.
When he saw what I did he said "you didn't have to do that, I could've done it." and I reminded him of what was still left to be done, to which he said "well, I might not have time to do that." THAT'S WHY I HELPED. Also why the garage doesn't need to be a priority, and also why I reminded you days ago that it was mostly up to you to make sure the house is clean...
*rant over*
Q: nope
GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? Usually coffee, but tea occasionally. I love me some black current tea, but I haven't been able to find any that's not artificially flavored...

WAYDTGKU: temping, cm, opks, praying I O at a decent time this month
R/R: Mm, not much. I had a bad day at work yesterday and it's still really bothering me. I even spoke to my supervisor about the situation.
Tuesday was my first EDD, so.. that's past. I survived!
Tonight DH and I are going to a Christmas show! Orchestra, choir, musical, theatrics and lights! I'm so excited. Except my in laws decided to purchase tickets right next to us without asking. Guess we're hanging out with the in laws on our date night!
Q: Nope! Just having tons of creamy cm this time. I'm symptom spotting an early O. haha
GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate?
I love caramel macchiatos, but caffeine gives me heart palpitations and I feel sick afterward. I like certain kinds of tea.. but only when I'm in the mood. Hot chocolate is nice! But I don't like whipped cream or marshmallows
Also, This Is Us!!! Omgsh yes! I can't believe everything. And the wait til January is going to kill me! We'll need a thread to discuss the show I think!

@purplg8r hugs I am also bad at keeping up with people. I'm sorry your mom sent you such a rough text.
@kariann323 I'm with the other ladies, I would tell them that you are not ready to talk about it. You need to do what is best for you.
@lulu1180 @sagegrove @laurad75 and all the other this is us ladies, I finally got caught up last night and I am also in the WTF camp!! I hate this long winter break....
@pinky917 sorry for CD1, hugs lady. It looks like we are both in the 7/8 ship. fx for us
