  • @KariAnn323 I talked to my doctor last week about short AF and she said that as long as your total days of flow is around 5 or so, you're ok and the spotting after AF counts as a day of flow (according to her).  You can always talk to your OB to see what she says but just wanted to give some insight that I got.

@lulu1180 That makes me concerned for myself! I only have 2-3 days of flow. The first day is REALLY heavy- like, 3-4 super tampons kind of heavy but still. Maybe I'll throw a email at my OB.
  • @lulu1180 Whelp, now I'm concerned about the 3 day periods I have.

  • @kiwi2628 Do you spot after AF?  If so, she counted that as days of flow.  Without spotting my AF is usually 2-3 days but then I spot for a day or two after.

  • @lulu1180 nope. For me it goes mayyyyybe a half day of spotting before before AF shows (although usually I wake up with no spotting the day prior and its like a friggin damn collapsed), CD1 is super, horrifyingly heavy, CD2 is medium heavy and then I have 1 day of spotting or 1 day of super light.
  • @KariAnn323  I would let your parents know that you appreciate their concern and support, but that if they're only coming to get details on your m/c, to just stay home.  Your emotional and mental stability is more important than their need for information.  It sounds rough, and I'm sure you can find a nicer way to say it, but there is zero need to put yourself through that.  Be your own advocate here.

  • @kiwi2628 Yours actually sounds heavier than mine and my doctor didn't seem concerned about mine; you have 4 total days of flow which is about where I'm at now.

    Q: nothing today

GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? Coffee all day please!

  • @lulu1180 I just finished the season finale. WHY?! They can't do this to us.
  • @purplg8r @KariAnn323 @zwink1 -- Internet empathy to all of you with overbearing/meddling parents. (My parents don't even know I'm remarried or TTC because we've had such a toxic relationship over this stuff in the past.)

    Month/Cycle: 4/4?

    CD: TWW + some

WAYDTGKU: I'm already late and having some symptoms, but every test I've taken is a BFN.

R/R: DH has been so sick over the past few days that even the military is allowing him to stay home from work. (I'm hoping he's feeling better tonight because we have a very expensive event that we've already pre-paid for!) I'm super-thankful to the lab tech who called all over the place yesterday since my PCP put in an order for me to PIAC instead of get BW. (If my FMU is a BFN, then why would you test for it in the middle of the day?!) I was able to get my BW done before they closed the lab because of that great tech! FMU today is still a BFN. Meanwhile, still no AF and very sore BBs. Why are you messing with me, body?

    Q: --

GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? I usually love tea every morning, but I've been trying to cut out caffeine while TTC. I could have matcha in everything I eat! I've been thinking of getting a Starbucks peppermint hot chocolate, but I've already been indulging in too many holiday treats!

  • @virginiaham Thanks for the chart. I didn't realize I should be concerned about my light periods. I usually only have 3 days of flow, no spotting before or after AF and it's so light I could probably get away with only using 1 pad my whole period.

  • @Breath_Easy92 first day of full red flow should be CD1 (not first day of spotting, unless you also get full red flow later the same day). At least that's what I was told many moons ago

  • @juliebeannn GL this weekend!!!

@Breath_Easy92 I think this thread may have confused you.  CD 1 is full flow not spotting so if you start spotting on Monday but don't really have flow until Tuesday, CD 1 is Tuesday.

I forgot to comment on This Is Us.  I love that show and knew that something was going to happen based on internet chatter but didn't see that coming.  I can't believe we have to wait until mid-January.

@laurad75: I love watching This Is Us as well. I saw a FB friend post something about "all the feels" and knew something would happen, but didn't see that coming. I am so curious what ends up happening in January!

vegetalienne I would suggest using second morning urine and also testing between 10am and 6pm. I usually start using them around 2-3 days before expected O. Also, not sure what kind you bought, but the wondfos are super cheap. They aren't always as clear or easy as the smiley face kind, but I bought 100 opks and 20 hpts for $22 on amazon.

Breath_Easy92: See above about cheap OPKs if you still want to consider them
  • @laurad75 @BertieMeetsGertie oh okay I always spot the night before it really comes on full fledged and mine is never very heavy anyway (but lasts like 6/7 days) so I wasn't sure. Thanks!
  • @LuND I feel you! We're having a Christmas party on Saturday. DH is taking a half day today to clean the house and I just know I'm going to have to go around behind him and ACTUALLY clean out the fridge and ACTUALLY scrub the toilets. Ugh.

WAYDTGKU: AF should be leaving today so hopefully on to all things tomorrow

R/R: It is F** cold here today and i have to be outside for a fair portion of it...

    Q: nope

GTKY: Coffee, tea or hot chocolate? I love them all. I typically drink tea in the mornings but will occasionally have a 1/2caf coffee, in the winter hot chocolate is my jam at night!

@purplg8r hugs I am also bad at keeping up with people. I'm sorry your mom sent you such a rough text.

@kariann323 I'm with the other ladies, I would tell them that you are not ready to talk about it. You need to do what is best for you.

@lulu1180 @sagegrove @laurad75 and all the other this is us ladies, I finally got caught up last night and I am also in the WTF camp!!  I hate this long winter break....

@pinky917 sorry for CD1,  hugs lady. It looks like we are both in the 7/8 ship. fx for us

@zwink1 sorry you got the "just relax" convo. I wish people would just get the hint. Hooray for picking an RE, which one did you end up going with?

@juliebeannn GL with the IUI this weekend, sorry you have to be up so early, but hopefully you can get a nice breakfast afterwards

@dragonfly87 last time we were trying I had to step away from social media for a long time. TW** a grad school class mate posted her 4th pregnancy announcement in 5 years and I lost it... I could not handle it any more*** I was off face book for close to a year.  Do what you need to for your mental health
