@Wearmi1 I'm sorry that your results didn't come back as well as hoped! FX that it was a false positive and everything works out! @semicolon I may have said this to you before- sorry to repeat it if I have... I'm so sorry about the loss of your baby. You've got to be an incredibly strong woman to be willing to go through this again. (Please don't take that the wrong way- my PGAL brain almost had me unwilling to try again and we had only made it to 8wks with the last pregnancy). FX that you get to take home your baby and the blood panel comes back positive!
I should have my results back any day now- damn holiday delayed them
Thank you everyone for your warm thoughts and wishes. I'm really hoping it is a false positive. Ive spent some time researching the condition which is known as Turners Syndrome so that I can try and wrap my brain around what might be going on with my little girl. It like other chromosomal issues has a broad spectrum as to how bad it can be. Going to be a long month of waiting for my amniocentesis and the results.
@Wearmi1 I will be thinking of your this month. I know it sounds trite, but I sometimes try to think of these odds like weather. A 36% chance of showers usually means it's not going to rain. Praying for some Christmas good news!
@Cait32 I haven't gotten my results yet, but my draw was done at 10w6d. My insurance specifies that they only cover the testing past 10 weeks, so I'm assuming that's because it's almost always conclusive by that point.
@Wearmi1 I'll be thinking of you this month and hoping for the best outcome.
Talked to my OB yesterday and we scheduled the NT scan and Harmony test for 21 December. He likes to do both because the NT scan also gives him insight into anatomical issues. I'm guessing I won't have the blood work until after the new year.
@cait32 I had my Panorama draw 11/18 and got results 11/29, but Thanksgiving was in there. based on the results uploaded to my online portal, they sent it to the doctor on 11/24, but the office was closed the 24th- 27th.
Natura (lab that does Panorama) also has an online portal where I think you could get results sooner, but be sure you get the card with your patient # from the tech who does your blood draw. I didn't realize this and was annoyed I didn't have it and couldn't get my results sooner.
I did it at exactly 10 weeks and the fetal DNA percentage in my blood was 4.8%. the data online says that if that percentage is below 3.5 the results are inconclusive. I'd wait for 10 weeks personally, so you don't wind up needing to do it again.
@Cait32 My draw for panorama was done at 9 weeks, 4 days. I had 8.0% fetal DNA (you need at least 3.5%), and I got the results through their patient portal in 6 days. Definitely make sure you get the card out of the box with the kit id number though so you can access the results yourself. (I ended up with it mostly because I live in the middle of nowhere where the lab closes hours before the FedEx pickup, so I had to pack and mail my blood myself after they drew it and I found the card in the box while I was doing that) It seems like most people's doctors are taking forever to update them even once the results have been reported. Mine still hasn't called me, so I am glad I could get in to the natera system to get the report myself.
@LilLee11 Thanks for sharing your story and your Instagram page! Just spent an hour going through and reading all your posts! So beautiful! I went a little crazy with my likes! Sorry
@wearmi1 just saw your post and my thoughts are with you... just remember that these tests are screening tools and not diagnostic. Even with Panorama (supposedly one of the more precise ones) my OB did warn me ahead of time that there are false 'positives' and they've had them in their practice... where the mom goes to a MFM for more testing and it turns out it was wrong. I know I would have a hard time following my own advice but don't stress too much over it yet, the odds are in your favor with the 36% and the NIPT, again, isn't diagnostic. ::hugs::
@Wearmi1 Will be thinking good thoughts for you in the coming weeks.
I had my blood draw on Friday - did the MaterniT21 genome test (which may have some other name) which checks for microdeletions in a few key spots along with the standard trisomies; we're people who want ALL of the information. I also had my NT scan (which looked good). Now just the somewhat painful wait for results...
@Assiram42 I'm beyond behind on this thread and saw your update. DH has Klinefelters and I'm happy to be a resource if that ends up the case for your LO. FWIW, there are varying "degrees" of Klinefelters. DH for example is mosaic so not all chromosomes are abnormal. Either way, happy to chat more about it if you're curious. You can PM or ask here (wherever you are more comfortable).
I will be using Harmony bc my insurance does not cover the test. I was quoted today that Harmony is 350 and the Materniti 21 is 2700. I took the Materniti 21 two years ago and had to pay the 2700 for it. I was able to get on a payment plan but I had to pay every penny of it.
TOTALLY glossed over this post earlier because I wasn't going to pay extra for the test (Tho i desperately wanted too...) But my Quad screen came back higher risk yesterday :-( So doc immediately called me in for the NIPT blood draw. So now its covered.... :-/ Very stressful day. Anyone else do the QNatal from Quest? How long did those results take to come back? Doc said a week, but they often over estimate so you don't freak out?
@riverraine no benefit. The NIPT covers more defects and is more accurate than the first trimester screening. So if you do NIPT, skip the first trimester screening. Most people do the first trimester screening and if it pings high risk, then do the NIPT.
@graceriesz Most people do the first trimester screening and if it pings high risk, then do the NIPT. first trimester screen is very limited, no sex.
@NYCProf thats the one my doc just ordered for me yesterday.
@Wearmi1 sorry for the bad news. I know you feel. :-( I'm sure you've talked to your doc and googled extensively, but Turner's is pretty mild relative to some other things if that helps at all...
I just got my Verifi results! We are having a healthy baby girl!!!!! I could not be any more exicted and cannot wait to surprise DH with the news tonight!
@JessErinF Sending you prayers that you get results ASAP. Don't quote me, but I thought our geneticist said it's basically Materni21, just under a diff name.

@jesserinf I did the NIPT and the NT scan. It took about 12 days for my results to come back. Good luck! I know the stress of having something come back scary and having to move forward with more testing.

Do you watch 30 Rock? Literally cheese, that you eat at night.
@WorkingOnMyNightCheese no i don't haha that's hilarious, and you just decided that was baby's name hehe love it
Well, DH doesn't call it that, and I don't to him, but on the bump it makes sense. Like, hi I'm nightcheese, and this is baby nightcheese! Fits with the SN and all
I'm obsessing over my NIPT results since we don't have them back yet. Our third child has Down syndrome so I'm on HIIIIGH alert. We did MaterniT21 last Friday. They said 10-14 days but I'm wondering how the weekend will throw it off. The lady said they'd express it over but she didn't know if they refrigerated the blood until Monday or what. Anyone know?

@hmhierholzer so jealous. I had my panorama drawn on the 30th too but NOtHING yet.

@LilLee11 when I was waiting for my results I did some research and found that the sample is only good for five days, so they can only wait so long before they test it. Hopefully you'll get your results soon!

I don't know the answer to your question, but, if it is encouraging, I also had a baby with Down Syndrome (unfortunately she didn't survive to birth), and my results this time came back clear. Chances are very, very high that yours will too, even with your history. I hope you get them soon!
Had blood draw for MaternitT21 on 12/2 and today 12/8 we found out we are low risk in all categories. I honestly didn't think I'd get as excited as I did, but this finally feels real. I am over the moon, especially since we're also having a GIRL! So that's girl, boy, boy, girl....my daughter is going to freak out!

@LilLee11 that is great news! Congrats!!! I took the Qnatal test on Monday 12/5, hope that means ours will be ready MOnday or TUesday! (I heard Qnatal is the same test as MaterniT21).
I had horrible horrible horrible night mares last night about hte results of the NIPT. :-( I am so stressed out about this whole thing. I know stressing doesn't help! Believe me! I am just naturally a high strung worry wort and I literally can't help it. During the day I'm ok, thinking about other things, but, literally back to back to back night mares all night last night. :-( Now i'm a wreck. And i doubt the results will be in today, so i'm dreading night mares all weekend now too!!!! :-( ARGH! I just want this whole situation to be over. what a nightmare.

I got my Qnatal Plus (Quest Diagnostics) results exactly one week later. All is normal and it's a girl. Look at the fetal fraction - the higher, better. Mine was 12%. I did mine at close to 13 weeks. Now I'm wondering about whether to get amniocentesis... I'm just a worrier like you, but I think I'll pass. If chances are so low, why risk miscarriage?!?! Thoughts ladies?
@NYCProf thats excellent news! Then mine should be in Monday.... :-/ But yea, my doc said basically they look at what has the higher risk. After getting the all clear from NIPT you're risk of those problems is less than 1%. But the risk of amnio is greater than 1%. So they usually won't do the amnio. Right now much risk is higher and it will be even higher if the NIPT is no good, so they would then risk the amnio....

I agree. @NYCProf enjoy the results bc chances are in your favor that they're correct. The 20 week is another very big anatomy scan. That's when I'll relax a little more bc markers for diff stuff can pop up in that. I say enjoy the pregnancy bc your little babe is doing fine!

I had mine drawn on 12/1 and got back yesterday 12/8. Everything was good. As for sex all they can tel me is that I do have a boy. The can't tell you 100% with twins
Today was such a roller coaster. I had my panorama draw on 11/30, so today was the 7th business day. No one called, so at 4:30 I called my OB-GYN's office just to make sure before having to wait over the weekend. The nurse there calls back, "Yes, we do have your results but your doctor is on call today and didn't see them, so we can't tell you. Try to have a good weekend. Bye." So I lost my shit. There are 7 other doctors at the practice and we see ALL of them, so any of them could have looked and called, not just the doctor who ordered them. So, like a crazy person, I called the on-call doctor pager and got "my" doctor. He was SO sweet and understanding. So, our little GIRL is low risk. My DH promised our doctor a case of beer as a thank you for not having to deal with his crazy pregnant wife all weekend.

Re: NIPT (Noninvasive Prenatal Testing)
@semicolon I wouldn't say I feel 110% better, but it definitely helps my PGAL brain to know she's okay with everything they test for.
