  • I was wondering about her too @Spicyweiner

  • +1 to that. How are you and babe holding up @lemieuxk?
  • Thanks for asking! I'm still here. Things look good overall, though I'm starting to struggle a tiny bit. I gave my husband my rings when I was admitted because the nurse said my hands would swell from the fluids they were giving me. Tonight he realized the wedding ring is gone. It's just a thing and replaceable, but I feel as though I've lost a lot over the past few weeks and this was another symbolic loss.

Then, the nurse came in and my temp was 99, and I just broke down. The thought that she could come anytime and that she'd be so small and sick just kills me. My temp came back down an hour later, so hopefully it stays low and isn't a sign of infection.

Tomorrow I will suck it up and regain my optimistic, but for tonight im giving myself permission to feel like this just sucks.
  • @lemieuxk glad to hear your temp came down, but I'm sorry your ring got lost, that's so sad  hang in there! Sending positive thoughts your way!

  • Thanks for the update @lemieuxk. Im glad baby is still cooking-- every little bit helps! Take the time to wallow tonight. You deserve it. We are rooting for you and baby! I hope your temp stays down and that baby stays in!

Have H look for your ring, it might just be misplaced. It is just a thing but I'd be upset too. You might have to tell him to keep stressful stuff away from you while you're in the hospital.
  • @lemieuxk, I'm so sorry you're feeling crappy and that happening with your ring doesn't help at all! It sucks that everything is so uncertain right now and you have no way of really knowing what will happen next and when. Please don't feel that you need to constantly be optimistic under the circumstances, but I really admire you for trying to have the positive attitude that you do about it.
  • @lemieuxk youre doing great & every day is an extra day that your little one gets stronger & bigger & all you can do is take it one day at a time.
It must be so overwhelming so no one would blame you for being a little down every now and again about, you want your baby to have the best
possible chance & youre doing everything you possibly can but its hard!
    hang in there! Xxx
  • @lemieuxk I'm sorry to hear about your ring :/ that's just the icing on the stress cake at this point I'm sure. We're all pulling for you so hard right now! If you need some distraction to help keep your mind off the fears we could start a lemieuxk thread for your own personal enjoyment :)

@jstringfellow19 both my legs drive me nutso for a few hours each night before I fall asleep. Like it's an internal itch or something and it only goes away when I move or kick them. Is that how it feels for you?

My 2nd belly piercing had to be taken out today. My belly button officially looks mangled and has me wondering if it'll always look that way now. I've had that piercing for 16 years and I feel awkward without it! I've gotten the bloody noses to stop though thanks to the constant hum of the humidifier next to my bed, no more kleenex carnage in the trashcan like I butchered a chipmunk every morning. Shortness of breath, butt cheek pain, and some mild nausea can all suck it currently.
  • @lemieuxk I'm so sorry about the ring and how you're feeling. I really hope it turns up but you have every right to vent as much as you want. Just think, every day she's getting stronger in there and you may have longer than you fear. Big hugs.
  • Hang in there @lemieuxk! Glad to hear your temp has been normal today! I hope it stays that way.
  • @lemieuxk I didn't get any of that with my NICU baby and we're best friends now! But I think "mourning" is an accurate word - I was sad about it for a while too and that's ok <3
  • @lemieuxk So glad to hear your temps are back to normal today! We are all pulling for you and thinking of you and your baby daily!
  • @lemieuxk Keeping you and baby in my prayers!! And you are doing awesome, dont feel like you can't mourn the loss of your birth plan or be upset you are in the hospital, i can't imagine anyone not having the same feelings.  Good luck!!
  • @lemieuxk I'm so sorry about your ring but glad that your temps are back to normal.  We're all routing for you and baby!

  • @yogadevil It usually only happens to my right leg, but I guess I wouldn't describe my feeling as an itch, but more of a tingle. It's hard to describe. Must DH thinks I'm crazy when i tell him, butt have to move I think or kick it or go walk to make It stop.

@lemieuxk I'm praying for you and baby! I hope your rings turn up. Fingers crossed that baby stay safe put for a while!
  • Got my first cold of this pregnancy.  NOT FUN!! I miss Nyquil!
  • @lemieuxk Glad to hear you and baby girl are hanging in there! Hopefully your ring turns up too - you never know, they could still be in his pants pocket of whatever he was wearing that day.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • Keep hanging in there, @lemieuxk, and definitely give yourself permission to feel any and all of your feelings! We'll keep sending you love and good vibes.

If another "good outcome" story helps--my cousin had twin boys at 28 weeks in May, and looking at them now, you would never even guess. I understand your grief about losing the birth experience you wanted, though, and I think it's fine and healthy to mourn that, even though we all know that a healthy mom and baby is the ultimate end goal. Hope the LO stays put a little longer!

  • @lemieuxk thinking of you and your baby girl! I'm so happy to hear that your temp has gone down! I'm sorry about your rings, it is completely understandable to feel sad about them especially as things are not going as you had envisioned. Another spot for your husband to check, could be the washing machine or dryer. If he did any laundry, maybe the rings were in his pocket and fell off in the wash... and it's a free cleaning! I hope you are doing well today!  <3

  • Thinking of you @lemieuxk.  It is completely okay to feel all those feelings.   It is hard to imagine things going differently and sooner than you wanted.   i hope you feel better physically and that baby girl keeps on cooking.  Feel free to vent anytime!   We are here!

  • Keep strong @lemieuxk I trust you are in very good hands. As has been said already allow yourself the grief you need, it's better not to suppress your emotions and certainly no one would think any less of you for feeling as such in this situation. I hope you and your baby girl are okay, and it's good to hear your temperature went down. Hopefully you can stay in a healthy state and your wee one can hang in a bit longer. We're all rooting for you.
  • Question about BH... I am trying to move large boxes from a couple rooms in the house. Normally they are NBD and I would just get it done. But my BH start acting up everytime I lift anything heavier than like 15 lbs... I have stopped moving them and the BH have stopped also. Would you guys just do a little work then take a break for a while, then start again? Or if they are coming because of moving the boxes just wait until my husband can move them? I really don't know if BH from moving stuff around is normal or kind of a big deal.

  • I've totally been there @ChaoticWolf! There was been twice so far that I was legit concerned that stomach pain was preterm labor. Once was last night after the work holiday party since my boss made me a personal size vegetarian lasagna that was about 3x larger than I needed it to be.
  • @kswiger06 Don't feel bad, I think my DH would bubble wrap me if he could.
Rainbow baby Dean is due 2/17/17!
  • We buy dog food 50 lbs at a time. DH cut me off... he has to go get the dog food now. It does stink not being able to do everything you normally do, but I get it. It'll be worse after my c-section, when I can't even lift a laundry basket.
