Nellin - my OB is in no rush for baby to get here. There have been a few ladies on the 3rd trimester board that just went past their due date and all have beautiful little babies! I think some doctors are more cautious with IVF babies in general just b/c of everything we've gone through just getting pregnant and mom could have underlying issues that contribute to that. I agree with @tvh1982 - after about 41-42 weeks, they tend to induce b/c the quality of your placenta starts to decrease and baby stops getting all of the nutrients.

That makes sense of that's what she means, inducing a couple of weeks over seems sensible but inducing of I'm a day late seems unnecessary! I'll definitely be questioning the reasons behind the advice (when I actually meet the specialist!).
