Re: TTCAL Check-In Week of 12-5

  • 2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW) TWW, I've settled on 6 DPO.  Happy that O actually happened and it's clear by my temperatures.

3.) Rants/ Raves -   Got my TSH levels checked last week and they actually came back only slightly above 2, which is the best I've been in awhile.  So now trying to figure out in my excessive hair loss is because of the Levothyroxine itself, which is frustrating.

*TW* The funeral for SIL and BIL's baby last week was tough.  The service was very nice and we got to spend some quality time with SIL/BIL which helped.  My MIL even checked on me to make sure I'm doing okay given our loss, which I found very comforting.  SIL's baby was born with a strong heartbeat actually and it beat for nearly five hours, which seems amazing at 16 weeks.  Now I just hope they can heal and find out what caused the loss.

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share!  I'm not particularly good at DIY, but I try.  H and I did successfully change some outlets in our house this summer from 2-prong to 3-prong, so we feel accomplished by that, haha.

Hope everyone has a nice week.

  • @laeberge3 glad your levels were the best they've been, but sorry you still don't have answers for the hair loss. That is frustrating! Also, I'm glad that you made it through the service and were able to support each other as a family. I'm sure it was tough.  <3

    2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW)
On the cusp of WTO/TWW- supposedly O day is today, later than it has been at CD 19.

    3.) Rants/ Raves -
Rant- given my later O day, I have to see if I can change my HSG date. If I can't, that's another month I have to wait.

Rave- I finished all my cookie baking this past weekend. Now I just have to stop DH from sampling all them. He's mad that I made all these cookies for the sole purpose of giving them away :D

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share!
My last DIY was a few baby headbands for my niece 18 months ago. I usually just default to Etsy for anything crafty bc my DIYs end up looking like those pinterest fail pictures.
  • @szwill86 Hopefully they can move your HSG back a week so you don't have to wait that extra month! I'd be just like your DH - trying to "sample" cookies

  • @laeberge3 I'm glad to hear that you made it through the services. What a tough day it must have been for you all! As for your DIY project - I'm not at all handy but have a lot of two-pronged outlets in my house and would *love* for them to magically become three-pronged. Good work!

@szwill86 Hope they can change your test! Am I correct to remember this for your thyroid? The hair loss sounds really frustrating, to say the least.

    2) Status is CD 11. I usually ovulate on CD 18 so I have a few days before we get on the BD train.

    3) I have a Rave this week because we got a kitten this weekend! We had to put our 19-year-old cat down last month. It was really sad, especially for DH because he was his childhood cat (DH is 30). We were trying to wait until after Christmas but it was just too sad around the house. We aren't usually so impulsive but I think we got a real winner from our local shelter. He's sitting on my lap purring away as I type.

    4) Not at all handy so no crafting or home repairs for me (those go on DH's Misc. Man Jobs list). I do like to clean and am pretty excited to tackle the fridge this week!
  • @laeberge3 great news about your TSH levels but I'm sorry they haven't figured out the reason for the hair loss. That's frustrating.

@szwill86 I have an HSG scheduled for after this cycle as well. My doctor said they could do it anytime between cd5-12...would your appt still fall in that time frame even with the late O?

@Wingless00 congrats on the new kitty. I just started volunteering at the local animal shelter so I have a feeling we'll have new pets pretty soon  :D

    2) WTO/Semi-benched, cd7. I usually O btwn cd17-20 and DH is leaving for Panama on cd 16. So we're just gonna BD before he leaves and hope I O closer to cd17 than 20. Then we he returns its bench time for us.

3)Sort of a rant, kind of hysterical...
My team played in our first scrimmage on Friday, we played 6 eight minute periods and only scored 3 points the whole time, bahahahah that is real bad. But what can you do. Practice today will be all about the shooting basics!
Rave: it's snowing and absolutely beautiful in New Hampshire right now <3

    4) I never used to be but since j quit my full time job in May I've become very DIY. Mainly to stay busy but also to save money. I don't do anything to crazy but I did make these little Christmasy crafts

  • @laeberge3 Hugs for making it through the funeral. That sounds incredibly hard. I'm thinking of you and your family.

@szwill86 Hopefully they can reschedule your HSG. I imagine this isn't an uncommon occurrence.

@Wingless00 I'm sorry about your cat - it's always hard to lose a pet, especially one that's spent so much time with your family. Congrats on the new cat though! I like cuddly, purry cats.

    2) TWW. 8 or 9 DPO. BFN this morning.

    3) This is my first TWW off the bench and it's been really hard. I go back and forth between being convinced I'm pregnant one moment and then convinced I'm not pregnant the next. I tested with a Wondfo at 7 DPO just to feel like I was doing something. Ugh. The BSC is real this TWW.

    4) We are not at all good at DIY. Lol. Our last dog did some significant damage to our kitchen, and it was a comedy of errors trying to fix things. He scratched up a door, which I was able to putty and paint pretty easily, but he also ripped up two of the vinyl floor tiles (yep, you read that right). We managed to find replacement tiles at Home Depot (a miracle considering our apartment was built in the 90s/early 00s). But, it turns out they were these weird tile that were meant to be laid "interlocking", where the "tiles" were really rectangles, with the top, decorative portion that you see as a square tile on one side and a black, plain, grooved square on the other. They are actually meant to be glued to each other as well as the floor (glue bottom of decorative half to the top of the black half of another tile). Well, whoever our landlady got to lay the tile in the first place must have decided that was stupid, and they just used a saw to cut the square tiles out and lay them as squares. So, that meant I spent many hours sitting on my kitchen floor trying to liberate the black backing from the tile with a carpet cutter knife. I also had to trim a tile to fit around our kitchen cabinet. After that ordeal, we decided not to tackle the cabinet doors and kitchen counter that he chewed. I guess we'll be paying our landlady a lot of money when we finally move out....

@laeberge3 Glad your levels are good. You have me wondering if synthroid is causing my hair to thin as well. Sorry for your SIL/BIL, thinking of you and your family.

@szwill86 I typically don't make too many Christmas cookies because I know DH and I will end up eating a lot of them.

1.) Still feel kinda new, see siggy for details.

2.) TWW, 6DPO. I won't test until my period is late. I like to keep hope alive for as long as possible.

3.) Rave- I came up with the best Christmas gift for my husband. For the last couple of years he has been trying to summit Mt. Washington in the winter and has been unsuccessful. Just signed him up for a guided trip up and then an overnight in the observatory.

4.) I like to think I'm crafty/good at diy. Most recently installed a hanging pot rack (which in a small house is life changing)

  • @laeberge3 I'm so sorry for your family. FWIW, my hair falls out anytime I change my thyroid meds (PTU)-up OR down. Any change can really do it.
@Wingless00 howdy cycle partner! *mimicks bad cowboy accent*
@RiverSong15 sorry about the BFN. Maybe you're too early? FX!
@SierraFoxtrot does your DH think that those who summit Mt. Washington in a a car are 'cheating?' Just curious  :)

    1. Hello! I've been AWOL a bit, see #3. Kinda glad not to see new faces really.
    2. WTO, CD11.
    3. I flew to TX the day after Thankgiving and helped my Mom move (drive) from TX to upstate NY (back home). Rave was we missed all the scary weather-drove through NE Alabama right before the tornadoes but got into east TN right *after* the wildfires. Rant (?)-stopped in Virginia to see my 98 year old grandfather who's on hospice, no terminal issues but just frail and probably won't make it that long. He's our family patriarch, I love him to death. But one should be so lucky to have such a long and filling life. Spent a few days with my dad before flying back to Oregon from Albany, NY last night. Just barely got through my Chicago layover (2 min) with that snowstorm last night! OK, need to stop typing....
    4. I'm not creative/DIY at all. If DH needs me to hold something I will, ha ha.

Now, back to normalcy. Have a wonderful week y'all  :)

  • @laeberge3 I'm glad the funereal went as well as those things can go.

@szwill86 are all of the cookies you made for Christmas? If so, do you freeze them or do they just stay fresh until then? I always want to bake ahead but don't want stale cookies.

@Wingless00 congrats on your new kitty! We had to put our 15 year old cat to sleep about 3 months after my mc. It was horrible. We have been in the process of having a fence installed and really want a puppy for Christmas. I think we might wait until after though since we are so busy during the holidays.

@SoonToBeMommaHowe I've always wanted to visit the east coast. It always looks so beautiful in the winter pictures.

@RiverSong15 we need to update some flooring in our new house and I know it will be a fiasco!

@SierraFoxtrot that sounds like a great gift and a great adventure for your DH!

    2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW)

    TWW 6DPO

    3.) Rants/ Raves -

Everything went wrong this weekend at my house. We discovered late Friday night that our Christmas tree stand was leaking and the floor was soaked. So we had to buy a new stand Saturday morning and try to move our fully decorated tree without destroying it. My carpet still wasn't completely dry last night so the tree is out in the middle of the floor until it's dry. Then we were supposed to have a washer delivered Saturday because ours croaked last week and they lost it and didn't have it on the truck. Poor DH spent over 2 hours on the phone trying to straighten it out. We will not be purchasing appliances from that company again!

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share!

I do almost evetything DIY. I love to bake and make crafts. I am making a tons of Christmas gifts including homemade extracts (vanilla, orange, lemon, and mint), hats, coffee sleeves, and cross stitched decor. I still have so much to do before Christmas!
    Pregnancy Ticker
  •  @Wingless00 sorry about your cat, losing animals is hard. But I'm glad you now have a kitty! Sometimes the impulsiveness is the right choice  :)

@SoonToBeMommaHowe they said it has to be when im done bleeding and between CD 7-11 is ideal, but I usually bleed/spot until CD 6 which is now when I'm scheduled for. I'm going to wait till I temp tmrw to see where FF actually puts my O day and go from there. Hopefully your team improves- they can only go up from there! And your vases are so cute!!

@riversong15 fx that it's just too early. Also- your dog sounds so calm and subdued.  :D

@SierraFoxtrot sounds like a great trip for your DH! Bet he will love it.

  • 1.) Introduce yourself (if your new)

Not new new, but been awol for a while. Natural mc in October.  Now in first cycle post mc

    2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW)

    TWW 2dpo

    3.) Rants/ Raves -

I wish the wondfo pack I bought didn't have so many HCG tests in it.  Knowing they're there is making it so hard not to take them now even though it's easy too early.

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share!

I do! I think I pin more than I make, but it's a money thing more than anything.  Latest adventure was helping my friend fix her kodak calendar she ordered in a size the store didn't have the backing for, so we found some paper and washi tape to extend it like a fun border.
  • @laeberge3   You are so strong to support your SIL and BIL.  I'm glad your MIL checked in on you.

@szwill86   So jealous you have so many yummy treats at your house : )

    @Wingless00   A new kitten!  How fun : )

@SierraFoxtrot  Sounds like an awesome gift for you husband.  My husband did the summit himself one year (foolish).  It wasn't in the winter but it still gets chilly up there.

@allowachick  All those strips..... hmmmm.   I've been peeing on the OPK ones.  I had 50 and didn't want to miss the surge so I've been using them twice a day.  I'm trying not to even think about the TWW part yet. I'm sure I'm going to want to use the HPTs.  I have 23 left and one first response.

@RiverSong15  I responded in TWW wait too.  I'm going to go with too early.  It's not over til AF shows up.

1.) Introduce yourself (if your new) Diag mmc 10/20.  First preg.

    2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW) WTO - CD15.

3.) Rants/ Raves - Rave - We got a Christmas tree and decorated it!!! This is our first tree together.

Rant - WTO stinks.  Waiting for anything in this process stinks.  I wish I knew what my "normal" was before the mc.  Temps are a mess.  Had 2 good spikes the last couple of days and two positive OPKs.  Today even though I got a positive OPK, my BSC was like "Did you do it right?  Did you dip too much pass the max line?"  Ugh.....

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share!  I'm not a big DIYer.  Not too crafty here.  My biggest DIY is cooking and baking from scratch.  Does that even count?

  • @SP128 I think cooking from scratch counts! I hear you on not knowing if you're doing this right, and yes, the waiting process is just the worst.

@allowachick The desire to POAS is real, especially when it's a cheap wondfo.  I'm about 6 DPO and likely to break those out in a couple days because I'm BSC.

@MooFish2364 What a debacle you've had this weekend with the tree stand and appliance woes (though yay for new appliances!). I'm jealous of your craftiness; Christmas would be so much more inexpensive if I could make gifts.

@amberruka Thanks for the info; I wonder if it is just adjusting to the meds, but I went to the higher dosage about a month ago and the hair loss is the worst this week and last.  We'll see what the RE thinks, as my OB chalked it up to "stress."

@SierraFoxtrot Your gift to DH sounds amazing!  The thinning hair could be Synthroid related or thyroid related if you're not well-regulated. All I know is that it's a frustrating problem!

@RiverSong15 Hey, you've made more attempts to be handy than we have! I hear you on this being a bad TWW; hopefully you'll get some good news soon

@Wingless00 Congrats on the new kitten!

@SoonToBeMommaHowe I hope your team turns things around. My H used to coach at the middle school level and sometimes those games, when one team is way outplayed, are just the worst.

  • @laeberge3 You are SO strong for going to that funeral.  I hope you're amazed by yourself, that is some next level strength and kindness.

@szwill86 Please feel free to tell me to go educate myself, but what's the HSG test for and why is the timing so key?  I know nothing about this and I have a feeling I'd better start learning.

@Wingless00 I'm sorry about your cat, but what a great long life, you must be such a good caretaker!!  Pics of the new kitty???

@SoonToBeMommaHowe Can I ask what you did before you quit?  I'm a lawyer and I don't want to be doing this forever, so I really love hearing good quitting stories.

@RiverSong15 Your dog and my older dog sound very similar ... When he was younger he tore up the carpet and chewed off -- and digested -- the full lower quarter of a bedroom door in a rental I was living in.  Needless to say I did not get my security deposit back.

@SierraFoxtrot Inspired Christmas gift, I wish I could come up with something that good.

@amberruka That is quite the road trip, and I'm sorry about your grandfather.  My husband's grandfather is turning 90 on Jan 1 so we are making a trip to Virginia as well.

@MooFish2364 What a weekend ... I sat on my couch all weekend and I got exhausted just reading everything you went through!

@SP128  This whole process really does stink, amen to that.

    AFM --

    1.  Not new, MMC in July, TTC ever since.

    2.  9DPO, pretty sure my sanity went AWOL when I started testing at 5DPO (BFNs every day so far, obv).  I must be a masochist.

    3.  Rant - My best friend is turning out to be really terrible at dealing with me TTC.  She didn't know what to say after the MC but that was fine, I didn't expect her to.  But I try to talk to her about the ups and downs of TTC and she's kind of hurtful without meaning to be... she tells me to "stop trying and it'll happen" and to "relax", and she keeps sending me pictures of her friends' babies.  I don't know how to tell her that getting random baby picture texts feels like a punch to the gut.  And every month she stresses out that her period is late and then when it comes she'll text me "thank GOD I'm not pregnant!!!"  I just ... I don't know how to talk to her about it.  She lives in NY and I'm in CO so having difficult conversations is kind of hard because we're not face to face.  I feel like I should probably just lay out guidelines for her (no baby pictures; no texting me when someone gets pregnant; no celebrating not being pregnant) but I feel like a jerk doing that.  I don't know, I'm at a loss.

    4.  I'm crocheting a blanket but ran out of the yarn and it's out of stock online.  WOMP WOMP.

  • @migdala  Definitely wouldn't be a jerk move for putting in some boundaries.  I also think the ones you mentioned are fair.  Sometimes people can be incredibly insensitive without even realizing it.

  • @allowachick Oh yes, cheap Wondfos feed the crazy. I have about 15 of them left, which is why I started testing so early.

@szwill86 and @migdala That was with our previous dog. We rescued a German shepherd/pitbull/Aussie mix puppy that was the smartest and most athletic dog I've ever met. He could train/play/run for HOURS without getting tired. As evidenced by the kitchen destruction, he was miserable in our 1 bedroom apartment all day. We ended up rehoming him through the rescue, because he was getting so frustrated with our living situation. I could deal with the destruction, but he started having aggression issues (biting) every time he got frustrated. We tried three different trainers, and they all said he just needed more space/mental stimulation. We couldn't give him that. It broke our hearts to take him back to the rescue, but it was the best thing for him. Our current dog is a small terrier and much more suited to our lifestyle. He's happy to snooze all day in his area and gets tired after playing for 30 minutes. MUCH better match for us, although he did chew our coffee table once. I'm still an advocate for rescue, but we were a prime example of why it's so important to do breed research before getting a dog!

@Moofish2364 Boo for leaking Christmas trees! I'm jealous of your crafting skills though.

@amberruka Whew! Your travel schedule makes me exhausted just thinking about it. I'm sorry about your grandpa though. It's never easy to watch people decline in health.

@SP128 Thanks! I know it's still early. TTCAL-brain is just illogical. And the "charts like mine" feature in FF is evil. Enough said.

3.) Rants/ Raves -  Really busy with SDs band activities. Her HS football team won again on Saturday, so we have at least one more game. Getting ready for our Christmas party on Saturday, so decorating, shopping, and cooking is and will keep me busy through this Saturday. My mom adopted 12 foster children for Christmas, so we have been shopping for those kids. We got a lot of great deals online on Thanksgiving and at the stores on Friday.

I took a break from TB, so sorry I haven't commented. I will comment tomorrow. Mentally having a rough time. Found out my SIL is pregnant. BIL called DH last Friday to share the great news. I am happy for them, but really bummed for us.

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share!
We just bought a new home, so luckily no home DIY projects. I love to craft and will post pictures of the Christmas crafts I made last month. New project is a wood ladder for my mom to hang quilts on. DH and I need to have that done for her bday in January.

  • @migdala the hsg is a dye test through the radiology dept where they inject dye into your cervix and watch it go up through the uterus/fallopian tubes to see if there's a blockage in your tubes at either end. They want to do it after you're done with AF and before you could be in your fertile window so nothing would stop you from TTC that month. If there is a blockage, this test has been known to "clean out the cobwebs" and a lot of women have success TTC the next cycle. This is the last step for me in my myriad of testing before I see a RE.

@szwill86 I have the same problem with H whenever I bake. He's the worst!

@Wingless00 Sorry about your cat - it's so tough when you grow up with an animal, they're just like family. What's the new kitten's name??

@SoonToBeMommaHowe Your Christmas crafts are awesome!

@RiverSong15 The TWW struggle is REAL.

@SierraFoxtrot That sounds like an awesome gift for your husband!

@amberruka Jeez! Glad you missed the crazy weather on your trip and that you got to see your grandpa. Wow, 98!

@MooFish2364 Oh no! Sorry about your tree/washer trouble :/

@allowachick I've already asked H to hide my HPTs this TWW so I don't test. It's so hard.

@SP128 Yes, waiting stinks! Sounds like our cycles are practically synced. I got three days of positive OPKs this weekend, negative today. No temp spike yet... ugggh.

@migdala I have no real words of advice but definitely should talk to your friend. Maybe she thinks she's being supportive with all those things when it's completely opposite....

@NewMommyCoop SIL is pregnant too so I know how you feel. It's just a tough situation when you want to be happy but it's hindered by your own loss. I keep  wanting to text my SIL and see how she's feeling but I just haven't... we chatted about early pregnancy signs/symptoms when she first told us but now I keep thinking how she's farther along than I ever was and it just makes me upset. It sucks. This will be my first niece/nephew and I'm excited to be an aunt... but always want to be a mom.

@TScalei Glad you had a good trip. Have a safe flight home!

1.) Newish. First cycle trying after MMC and D&C in October.

2.) WTO -- CD17. I think it might have happened yesterday or today... waiting for temp rise and crosshairs on FF.

3.) Rants/ Raves - My husband lost his wedding ring today!!! He worked from home and noticed he didn't have his ring one when he went out to get coffee... nowhere in the house or out by his car (he thinks it might have fallen off while he was cleaning snow off the car because his hands were so cold). He is really upset about it so I'm trying not to make him feel worse. Maybe we should just buy a cheap one for now in case it turns up???

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share!

Well, I love to make things... they don't always come out how I've pictured them though :D I recently got a Cricut and it's amazing but I'm still figuring out how to use it. As far as in the home, I bought new curtains on Black Friday and tried to hang the curtain rods myself -- instead I just drilled a bunch of holes in the wall because I couldn't find the stud so now we have no new curtains and ugly holes in our wall (H's cousin is coming to fix it!) Is there such a thing as people who will come to your house to hang things so you don't mess up the walls???!

  • Ah! I can't believe I forgot! @amberruka I am soooo excited to have a cycle buddy!!! When do you think you'll O?

  • @laeberge3. Glad the service was nice and that you were able to be there for SIL/BIL but also glad you got some comfort from family

@szwill86.  I will be doing my holiday baking this weekend.  My intentions were to give them all away but DH said I had to make some for him lol

@Wingless00. Sorry about your cat.   Losing a fur baby is no fun.  However a new kitten is so much fun and comforting    He is so cute

    @SoonToBeMommaHowe. Absolutely love the crafts!

@RiverSong15. @migdala. Ha I'm within on BSC.  I'm 6 DPO and tested this morning.  I just couldn't help myself. I know it's early but I just had to

@SierraFoxtrot. Awesome Christmas gift for your DH.

@MooFish2364. Sounds like a mess. I hope everything dries up and you get tree back without having to re decorate.

@allowachick. It's hard not test when the strips are sitting right in front of your face

@SP128. You are right waiting for anything in the process stinks!!

@NewMommyCoop. So sorry you are struggling with the news.  It is understandable.  I'm struggling with same issue. I recently found out that my niece is pregnant.  I hoping that time will help us adjust.

@TScalei. Nice restraint.  I have already tested at 6 DPO.  Glad you had a good trip. Disney is always fun

    AFM

2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW). TWW 6 DPO and tested this morning.  Of course it's BFN it's too early. Part of me is hopeful but then other part of me says my symptoms are my bodies way of playing a cruel trick.

3.) Rants/ Raves - Got my holiday decorations up which was exciting I love Christmas.  My MIL tried to make me feel guilty for staying home from girls night out with her and SILs but I just wanted to stay home...so I did.  Told DH what she said and he said she crazy sometimes

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share! So I made a burlap Christmas tree on a wire frame the top part of tree is cute because frame is smaller than bottom. If I move tree too much burlap comes out the bottom lol

im always willing to try anything crafty or home improvement.  I've done quite a few home projects from crown molding to hardwood floors.  None of which look perfect but good enough for me
  • @migdala I used to be an Assistant Athletic Director/Sports Information Director/Director of Fitness and Recreation/Head Womens Bball Coach at a community college. LOTS of hours and stress so when my OB said she thought I wasn't getting pregnant due to stress I decided to give it up and now I just coach part time at a high school and nanny 20 hours a week.

@Wingless00 I did use mason jars! I had a bunch left over from our wedding so I've just been repurposing all the ones we have in the basement. Your kitty is so cute :)

  • @Wingless00 So cute, that picture makes me happy.

@SoonToBeMommaHowe Nice!  My DH is in real estate and I keep my fingers crossed that we'll get to a point where the level of passive income coming in every month allows me to quit my job or try to go part time.  I don't hate what I do but I hate having to go to an office every day, it feels like such a waste of life!  I shouldn't complain though, I know so many people have it so much worse.

@Mack2342 I started testing super early too.  Now I feel like I jinxed a BFP, even though I know that's not how that works.

@oliveoil @SP128 Thanks, maybe I will try to grow a pair and talk to her about it.  We've been friends since high school and if we met today I'm not sure we would hit it off, honestly, but we just have so much history that makes us so close.  But it's hard to talk about sensitive issues because we look at things so differently.  A symptom of getting older and growing apart, probably.

@szwill86 Thank you so much for explaining it to me.  How did you learn about it?  We are planning on seeing an RE after this cycle is over but I never realized that there were things I could do before taking that step.  Is the HSG test something you do through your regular OBGYN?  Sorry for all the questions!!

@migdala Your OB can order testing before your RE appointment. When you set up your RE appointment, you can ask what testing you can start ahead of time. This is useful if you have to wait a while for an RE appointment (mine was over a 2 month wait). That way, at your first RE appointment you can go over all the test results and ask any questions you have. I did it this way, and I'm really glad I did because I don't have any insurance coverage for infertility, so the RE consult alone was $400 OOP. All my tests through my OB were covered though, which I'm grateful for - OOP they would have been over $6K.
  • @migdala what @RiverSong15 said. All my tests/bloodwork have been through my OBGYN as a precursor to me seeing a RE when I feel that we've exhausted all options or I feel "fed up" (OB's words, not mine!). I had all the RPL bloodwork done as well as my DH having his SA done. The HSG is my last thing to look at (besides my CD 21 progesterone and homocysteine level this month) before we can definitively say that both my losses weren't due to anything medically wrong.
  • Thanks @RiverSong15 @szwill86.  As soon as AF shows I'm going to give my midwives a call and see what we can do while I wait for an RE appointment.  So grateful for this board and all the helpful info!!!
  • @Wingless00 oh. my. goodness. Cuteness overload! I'm such a cat person I just want to squeeze that little guy! I'm not sure what day I'll O-using OPK for first time this month and I don't temp, but based on all other sx seems to fall in days 14-16. We are going to DTD tonight but then probably not until the weekend, DH doesn't have much of a sex drive ha ha. It's like a chore sometimes, even when you pull out the big guns ;-)

@amberruka and @SP128 BD can def be a chore. But I too break out the big guns, if by big guns you mean the sheet of paper on which I have alll my wondfos taped and asking DH to interpret them with me. Our little orange fluff ball cried outside the door the whole time last night. Rrrromance!
  • 1.) Introduce yourself (if your new) - can't remember if i've introduced myself here before or not.  but if i don't remember, i can't expect ya'll to.  me = 31; Husband = 31; currently living in DC.  We had a MMC in February (D&C) and then had a MC at 20 weeks following finding out the baby had a chromosonal disorder (plus a heart defect, plus a lung defect).

2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW) Benched for another two cycles.

3.) Rants/ Raves - I think I only have a rave today.  I've been testing out my new(ish) instant pot.  OMG that thing is amazing.  Today I took frozen chicken breasts, a jar of salsa and a bit of chicken stock and less than 30 minutes later I had juicy, tender, fall apart chicken for tacos.

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share! I'm great at finding DIY projects.  I'm great at buying the stuff for DIY projects.  I'm terrible at ACTUALLY SITTING DOWN and creating said DIY projects.  When I do, they usually come out ok to pretty good.  I just don't do them that often.

@SoonToBeMommaHowe - Those are adorable.  It's those type of projects that I always look at, love and say "I could totally do that"... and then never actually do it.

@amberruka - that sounds like quite the travels.  glad you missed all the bad weather. Sorry to hear about your grandfather but glad you got to see him.

@migdala - the rules you propose sound pretty fair and reasonable.  Perhaps if you start dropping hints like "ugh, last night I was really down after learning so-and-so was pregnant." she might catch on.  a lot of times people don't realize how hurtful their comments can be if they've never been on the other side.  i cringe thinking about how i'm sure i've said things that i thought were helpful at the time but might not have been well received.

    @tscalei - i <3 disney!!

    @Wingless00 - OMG WHAT A CUTIE!

  • 1.) I'm new to this board but have been lurking for a couple weeks, so I feel like you guys have already helped me so much. I just had a D&C yesterday at what would have been 10 weeks. We've known for a couple weeks that we lost this one though.

2.) Status - (Benched/ WTO/ TWW) Benched until the bleeding stops, then we plan to try again right away. Those plans might be complicated by the news today that I had low rbc count before surgery, as well as low iron and folic acid. So I might have to resolve the anemia first (especially since I'm still nursing)

3.) Rants/ Raves- Our pet sitter backed out yesterday with less than two weeks notice before our holiday trip. Ugh! So we had to find someone new for our two cats and we're going to attempt flying with our small dog for the first time.

4.) GTKY  - Do you DIY? What is your latest project or disaster? Feel free to share! We DIY quite a bit, but it takes us forever to finish anything. We stripped, sanded and re-stained a buffet most recently. It only took us 6 months to accomplish.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • 1. Only introduced myself once before, but haven't been around much since. Had mmc 11/21 at 10+4. D&C that day.

    2. Benched until March, since we're going on vacation and I'm too paranoid that if we were fortunate enough to get pregnant before then, I would be a anxious wreck the entire time, scared I'll miscarry on the trip

    3. Rant: my mom and I spent all day today cleaning and washing everything that can be washed. My brother and his family were here over the weekend and my SIL texted my mom last night saying her youngest has lice. Chances are slim there's any in our house, but I'm not taking any chances with it.

Rave: it finally snowed for the first time this season on Sunday. While it sucked we had a ton of errands and places to be, it finally made it start to feel like Christmas and I love it

    4. I diy quite a bit. I am a handmade artisan so I am programmed to try and do everything myself lol. Plus dh hates paying people to do stuff so we end up doing our projects ourselves unless there's a safety concern ;)
  • @sjohns08 @babypi welcome. We're glad you're here, even though it's a shitty club to be in. Welcome back @Tennis11785. I'm so sorry for all your losses.

  • Add me to the list of people testing too early.  I gave in to the pile of wondfos starting me in the face.  i know they'll  be negative til they're not or AF shows up, but it makes me feel like I'm doing something- not just waiting out my TWW.

Also my latest creation is now this pie:
  • @allowachick that pie looks so flippin yummy!!

And welcome to all the new/returning peeps. Hope we can make a crappy situation a little bit better for you <3

  • Oh also the reason I actually clicked in here was because I wanted to add a rant...

I live in New Hampshire and its currently 32 degrees and snowing (how pretty) AND I have NO heat!!!! Our boiler blew up yesterday and the warranty company needs 48 hours to get someone out here to take a look at it, then they'll examine it and hopefully have someone in here working on it the following day so we're looking at no heat til probably Friday afternoon at the earliest and this is our forecast

@allowachick I hear you on testing to feel like you're doing something. I did so this morning at 8 DPO (of course BFN). Fx for you, and yum - that pie looks delicious!

@SoonToBeMommaHowe Brrr is right! I hope you have some good space heaters and layer up.  Hope they can fix that boiler soon!

@allowachick My stomach is rumbling and your pie looking amazing! I'm not much of a baker (I hate measuring) and have never attempted a pie. I might have to revisit this position.

@SoonToBeMommaHowe Oh no! You might have to wait all the way until Friday? You're not in your FW, right? Too bad because BD might be one way to fight the cold...
