When you, dh and dc dine out who feeds dc? I have noticed that dh NEVER offers to feed dc when we are out and I am wondering if anyone else is in the same boat. I don't think I have eaten a hot meal out since DC started eating solids
DH is like here you want to sit by DS. Umm sure, do you not know how to feed him? Or the best is when DH gives me something off his plate and is like here give it to DS!
I do all the dining out responsibilities. I hate it. But if I don't, DH sits and asks questions about what to give, etc. even though he already knows. It drives me nuts. I used to love going out to eat and now I HATE it because my food gets cold while I sit there trying to chop everything up and take care of DD.
Last night, we went out with two of my friends from out of town and I couldn't do it again. I sat her next to DH and ate on the other side of the table. He fed her two packages of goldfish crackers and didn't get to finish his sandwich. I polished off a (very hot!) small pizza. It was wonderful!

We each take one. We bring lots of our own food and feed the kids a good bit before our meals arrive. Then we eat while their food is cooling off and then we give it to them. We both get to eat this way.
DD's very social so she's a head turning butterfly during meals when we dine out. So, whichever way she's facing determine who feeds her--in other words, we switch off thru out the meal. I have to admit there's some things DH doesn't even think about helping w/unless I ask....
DD feeds herself now, but before she did I almost always fed her. If I asked DH he would, just the dynamic in our house (I think because I am SAHM and always the one doing this stuff for DD) is that I take the lead on that. DH will always help if I ask but rarely his idea. I'm ok with that.
MH almost always feeds him. But like the PPer, DS is a social butterfly and commands the attention of everyone around us. I call him the Celebrity Host, going around smiling and greeting everyone.
Before she fed herself, we would feed her food we brought while waiting for our food, then give her something that would keep her busy for awhile, like a roll while we ate.
Usually me. We always put in DD's meal order with our drinks so that it comes way before our meals. Usually by the time our meals come, she's through eating.

My daughter feeds herself (she's done so since at least 12 months or so) and is the happiest thing anyway so completely amuses herself in the meantime (while we're eating or waiting) but smiling and waving and socializing with everyone. ?She just attracts attention so she's pretty self-sufficient when we eat out. ?
We both feed him. We sit him between us and both take turns so neither of us is eating cold food. Actually, Matthew probably ends up doing more of the feeding because he eats faster than I do, so when he's done, he pretty much takes over completely.
I always feed DD regardless of where we are. Sometimes after DH is done with his meal he'll offer to finish feeding her ~ come to think of it, I don't know that he's ever fed her unless he's alone with her.
The last time I came back from the bathroom my dh was giving my dd tortilla chips. He is off the call of duty on that one. I find it easier to just do it myself although he would if I asked him too.
I feel a need to point out that Joseph "feeds" himself. He puts the food in his mouth. However, if he has too much food at one time, it makes him crazy. So "feeding" him is maintaining the careful balance of enough food to prevent him from lunging across the table for our food, but not too much food that he feels the need to windshield wiper it away and start with a clean slate.

I definitely take the lead but we try and take turns.

Just feeding him each bite would be much easier.
