  • @thebookisbetter I will be starting a new job soon and I'm in my 9th month of trying. If you think this other job might be a good thing for your family maybe you ought to consider applying. I've worked through a lot of the same emotions you're probably having so tag me or PM me if you want to chat.
  • Hello CD1 buddies!

    Cycle/Month: 3/3

    CD: Definitely, positively, 1.

WAYDTGKU: Desperately trying to find my zen.

R/R: Dear Diary alert: don't read if you don't want to read my pity party. I took a HPT this morning because masochist, and of course, BFN. Then I went to work and it's "Moms Meetup Monday" so I get to set up a coffee & snacks event for a dozen moms and their adorable babies, and then I get to watch them for 2 hours while I check my email. To add insult to injury, AF arrived very violently around 8am. Terrible cramps and pain shooting down my leg, so bad I had to fight off tears and go home for lunch. I took some pamprin when I got home and am trying to calm down so I can go back to work and finish 1,000 projects that have all gone off the rails.
I do have a rave, which is that FF updated my FW to a few days after I get back from my work trip, and DH has a "good feeling" about this cycle so it's nice to have him excited and on board.

CS/Q: Anyone else's cyles vary in length? I never know if mine will be 27, 29, or 31 days.

GTKY: If I grabbed your purse right now, what are 5 things I would find inside?
Almond butter, Bite lipstick, my inhaler, Drybar dry shampoo, and pads (I like honest company pads).

  • @vegetalienne I would think you should be regulated by now.  I have heard that a cycle length can vary depending on which ovary is releasing the egg but that would account for only 2 different cycle lengths.  Maybe someone else can provide more insight.

  • Cycle/Month: 5/5 (I thought it was 4/4 but I just realized I've been off so that's super awkward!)

    CD: 13

WAYDTGKU: HIO ED (well, most days), green tea, preseed

R/R: DH and I had a heart to heart about TTC a couple nights ago and he brought up that his biological father had fertility issues and he's worried that might be hereditary. We aren't sure what issues he actually had and don't want to ask his mom because we haven't told family we are TTC. I know I shouldn't be worried until we are closer to the year mark, but it's looming in the back of my mind. Dr Google told me male fertility issues are often environmental which made me feel a little better. But is that kind of thing often passed from father to son? Sorry I know it's not helpful we don't actually know what his issues were

CS/Q: Anyone have knowledge of male fertility issues and what the chances are they could be hereditary? (See above)

GTKY: If I grabbed your purse right now, what are 5 things I would find inside?
My wallet and Chapstick. Sometimes my keys and phone are in there too. In an attempt to declutter my life I got a tiny purse. So far that's the only thing I have been able to declutter.
  • Cycle/Month: month one.

CD: I think 25 if my calculations are correct

WAYDTGKU: prenatals, no alcohol, cutback the caffeine, otk

R/R: I'm avoiding going back to work from lunch.

CS/Q: mine used to be about 28 days.  I had my iud removed on 11/16 so we will see.

GTKY: If I grabbed your purse right now, what are 5 things I would find inside? Mints, wallet, burts bees, pen and Bobby pins
  • @lulu1180 @swimsister Thanks for the encouragement ladies (and congrats on the new job, swimsister!)...It's partially inertia keeping me at my job, I have to admit. It's not at all fun, my job, and the workload is unmanageable at times, but I have been doing this job for the better part of a decade now, so I am comfortable in my discontent. I don't need to worry about not knowing what I am doing, getting along w/new people, making new friends, etc. It's scary to think about change, and possibility of regret/failure. I really should just give myself a swift kick in the butt and apply for the other spot though-see what else is out there.

    My Chart: http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/681ee7

  • @vegetalienne my cycles vary quite a bit, anywhere from 30 to 39 days. They seem to average about 35ish. I have it on my list of ?'s for doc at my annual visit on Friday.

    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @vegetalienne My cycles are never the same length, but my LP is pretty steady. But I've O'd from as early as CD19 to as late as CD25, making my cycles 31-37 days. I think it's more important that your LP is long enough (10+ days), and doesn't matter so much what your overall cycle length is. My doctor didn't even seem concerned that my O was so late but who knows.

  • @lulu1180 I will bring it up with the doc next time I see her. I'm also thinking I have sometimes marked spotting and sometimes marked real flow as CD1 in the past so I will go back and do some detective work

  • @thebookisbetter Obviously I don't know your life so what was good for me isn't necessarily good for you. Only you can decide that. I will just say that applying isn't accepting. Applying is just saying you're interested in more information. Best of luck, no matter what you do
  • @vegetalienne sorry about CD1,  we fortunately/unfortunately have a lot of CD1 buddies today.  My cycle has ranged from 25-28days but the first time around it would range from 28-37days. as @hartmich said I think its more important that your LP is a decent length. So many things can effect when you O.

@MrsRoberts1022 welcome. are you temping or using opks/monitoring CM or CP? At the very least I would recommend temping so that you will know when and if you have ovulated.

@LaurenEG14 CD1is counted as the first day of full red flow.  As long as you counted that as CD1 then FF would be right on what CD today is.  Also, if it's just mild cramping, it could be due to O.  ETA are you temping to confirm O or only using OPKs?

  • @lulu1180 I did have a light AF at the time FF counted as CD 1. Due to my usually long cycles I never considered O could be this early. I guess I better HIO to be safe! And I think I am going to buy a BBT thermometer. I have prime so I can have one in 2 days! Any brand suggestions?

  • @wabash15 I have been using one of those kits to check for the hormones. We were just going to let nature take its course but decided that we would try a bit harder over the weekend.  So I'm going to start temping this week.

  • Just checking in now. Work was crazy because I was preparing for our holiday party tomorrow and we're having a bake off competition so I just made my dessert. Bring on the prize!

@vegetalienne my cycles have a large range, my shortest was 22 and my longest was 35. I asked my dr about it last month and she wasn't really concerned. She said a long as I'm ovulating that's what she's looking for. I will also say that I've had more spotting before AF starts (3-4 days) for the past several months. I have an u/s next week to look for any issues that might be causing it

@lee^2 I have a similar question. My MIL tends to overshare sometimes and she told me that my FIL had a low sperm count. I wondered if that was hereditary but haven't really seen any research on it.

  • question... Can someone please explain to me how it is possible to use FF when I haven't had a period in 5 years? I'm pretty sure i'm going to lose my mind before I have AF or BFP
  • @MrsRoberts1022 I had the Mirena IUD for 7 years with no periods. Mine was removed 1/27, I had no withdrawal bleeding, had my first AF 2/22 and my cycles have been pretty 'normal' since then. Of course every body is different and my experience is not an indication of how yours will be. Just track as much as you can for now.
