Happy Monday everyone! I noticed that the last couple weeks a newbie has started the newbie thread so hope it's ok that I took it upon myself this week. I have been lurking for a few weeks and am looking forward to finally joining in.
Ages (you and SO): SO is 28 and I am 27.
How many months have you been TTC? We did the whole NTNP thing for almost a year and nothing so this is our first month really trying.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) H and I have been married for just over 2 years. We are TTC our first child. We have two fur babies- a one year old chocolate lab and a cat who thinks he's a dog. They are both crazy and definitely keep me on my toes. My husband is a fireman part time and we both work for the same company full time. We basically work the same schedule which will give us lots of time to HIO.
I look forward to sharing experiences with others who are going through the same journey. Since most of my family and friends are single or not ready for kids, Its hard to talk to them about all of this. I really like how supportive everyone is here and I know I am really going to get a lot out of being a part of it. Can't wait to get to know all of you!

Ages (you and SO): SO is 37 and I'm 30
How many months have you been TTC? DH and I recently relocated to a different state for his career and therefore have been putting off TTC until after I find another job. The good news is I start in 2 weeks!
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Right now I am trying to learn how to use FF. I'm also trying to learn as much as I can about tempting, CM, and OPKs. Not sure what I will or will not do yet but I plan to start taking PNV in January. I'm on the Nuva Ring right now and have been taking BC consistantly for 14 years so I am somewhat nervous about what to expect once I go off. Our hope is to start TTC in March but I don't know if I should stop the Nuv in Feb or let March be my last cycle with the BC. Advice apprechiated!
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) H and I have been married since July and this will be our first time TTC. We just recently reloacted to another state for his career. I have been enduring the long interview process for over the past month and finally accepted a job last week! I work in the medical profession which makes me really appreciate the scientic mentality here. Due to the transition we have had to put off TTC because I have to be at my job for at least a year before I qualify for FMLA and short term disability. I'd also prefer to be past the 6 month probationary period before anyone at work finds out I'm KU. On a side note, we previously lived in Southern Florida and I worked in Miami directly in the Zika zone so I'm really happy to be out of that place!!
Excited to get to know all you ladies more! I plan to hang out on the TTA/Benched board until I go off the Nuv but I'll still be lurking TTW and WTO.

How many months have you been TTC? We have been trying for 3 months, but NTNP since March.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) My husband and I have been married for a year and a half- but together for 11 years. I am a registered nurse and my husband is a lobbyist/ analyst for a health care firm. I love to travel! We just got back from Japan in November and I'm heading to Israel in March. We are trying for our first child.
I have VERY irregular periods so I am so excited to get involved here and learn more about TTC and my cycles. I have been lurking on and off for over a year and feel ready to get involved with the community. I have already learned so much for this board! Nice to meet you all!

Ages (you and SO): SO is 28 and I am 29.
How many months have you been TTC? We have been NTNP for a couple months now after a M/C in May. This is our first month of OPK and TTC.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I have been trying to eat better and lose some weight over the past year (mostly running and Weight Watchers). I'm down about 50 pounds and close to a healthy weight range now. I quit hormonal BC in April 2014 (Nuvaring) and it took about six months to get back to regular-ish cycles after that. Other than that, reading a lot (TCOYF and forums) and this cycle I tried OPKs for the first time.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We've been married a little over two years. We have two cats. I am an engineer and working on my master's degree in systems engineering, and my husband is a security officer working on his degree in information systems. We met volunteering at the fire department. He still does that but I backed off of a lot of my volunteering commitments to focus on losing weight and healthy living. I'm looking forward to getting to know you guys, and hopefully have a short time here in the TTC group.

@buffalo0928 nice work on the weight loss! That is something I am working on right now and hope I can have your success! Also, I am sorry to hear about your loss.

Ages (you and SO): I am 32 and DH is 30
How many months have you been TTC? This is our second (official) month.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? I have been trying to get my cycles regulated since I was on Depo Provera for 4 years off and on (also on minipill, BC pills). My last Depo shot was Dec 28 and FINALLY have had 3 cycles within 26-32 days. I have been temping and taking vitamins, but going to include OPKs and CM this month. Also going to try acupuncture in a few days because I really do not want to put any more synthetic hormones into my body.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have been married since May 2015 with just one fur baby (Ginger). I am a registered nurse that works in surgery, and hubby is a CPA. I am going to start studying for the GRE for nurse practitioner school because TTC is literally driving me crazy (and all my closest family/friends). Most of my distractions include football, shopping, fishing, cooking, yoga/working out, and sewing - been trying to get back into some hobbies that will occupy some of my time. I am so happy that I found this place and already learned a ton from the post - look forward to getting to know you guys!

How many months have you been TTC? This will be the first month. I'm not sure if its okay or not but I wanted to already get on a board so I can learn more, we know pretty much next to nothing about ttgp
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
I'm still in school but I'll graduate soon, we only have a fur child right now and we got married in October. I have a lot of anxiety and I'm a really impatient person so I'm really worried about how conceiving will go for me. I take dance classes to work out and binge watch a lot of netflix while I study, I love documentaries. So hopefully,I can learn a lot from ya'll, sorry I'll probably sound like an idiot for a while but it's okay you can tell me
@Breath_Easy92 Welcome - and it's definitely okay to be here on your first month! The best advice any of us can give you is to check out Taking Charge of Your Fertility (referenced in the newbie guide). It will teach you so much about your cycle, so that you aren't worried about being 'late'. You'll learn that there are two phases of your cycle (basically before and after you ovulate). Before you ovulate - the follicular phase - can vary in length, especially given various lifestyle/external factors like travel, illness, stress. After you ovulate - luteal phase - is fairly consistent month to month and generally only varies by a day or so (although some women have more variance, it's just less common). So once you start charting (particularly BBT and CM), you'll be able to know when you ovulate, and therefore when to expect your period. You'll see that most times you aren't really late after all, you just ovulated later than usual. Also - stay away from apps that only track your menstrual cycle. Use one that tracks all of the data, and you'll get a more accurate prediction of when to focus your efforts and when to expect AF.
Also - join your daily thread (WTO or TWW) and ALWAYS ask questions. The community here is incredibly supportive and is willing to help anyone along the journey as long as you follow the norms of the board.

How many months have you been TTC? This will be our first month, I just got my IUD taken out today. So we probably wont actively TTC until I get my cycle back and regular to track.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Plan to use FF, CM and OPK.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) DH and I have been married for two and a half years. We have an 11 month old daughter. We have two dogs and two horses. Both DH and I work for my family's construction business. We are both very active and outdoors most of the time. I run and weight lift in my spare time.
I am looking forward to getting to know everyone and to help each other get through this crazy ride!
Hey all! I've been lurking the boards here for awhile and finally decided to join in. I'm certain that even with all my lurking, I'm going to mess up the rules. But here it goes!:
Ages (you and SO): I'm 29 and DH is 35
How many months have you been TTC? We found out DH was sterile about 3 years ago, so we immediately took the glove off just in case they were wrong (wishful thinking, call me naive). Guess what! They weren't wrong, so we started pursuing fertility treatments in July because after waiting for 2 yrs to start the adoption process my DH decided he wasn't actually as comfortable with adoption as he thought he was. But that's another rant for another time
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.): No kids, 2 dogs. I'm an Analyst at Sharpie (yes, the marker!) DH and I both work there and like it. We love going to shows and going out to dinner.
Looking forward to getting to know you all!

How many months have you been TTC? We have been trying super seriously for 3 months and casually for a couple before that
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) My hubby and I are newlyweds in Hawaii. Neither one of us have kids and we have cats on the mainland. He’s in the military and I’m a teacher. Both of us are very silly and love to have fun!
Since I love to cook and bake, I’m trying to use my culinary knowledge to eat right and be creative. My husband also likes that I enjoy cooking and baking.
I’m really getting forward to knowing
people on this journey, especially during the moments when I feel like I’m
driving myself bonkers and really need a support group. I’m really looking
forward to all the amazing support and knowledge that I’ve seen on these boards

For those of you who are experiencing irregular cycles, I literally cannot overstate the value in tracking your cycles with temping. It'll help you understand if you are experiencing something uncommon but perfectly healthy or something that actually presents a problem for TTC. For instance, some women have ovaries that ovulate on different days (weird but true!). If you temp and chart for a few cycles and find that one side ovulates on day 14 and another on day 25, that explains your varying cycle lengths and is nothing to worry about. If instead you temp and chart for a few cycles and find out you aren't ovulating at all, hence your long cycles, you have the data to go into your gynecologist and say you think something is wrong.
(I speak as a person whose temping and charting did reveal a problem, so I really encourage you to do it.)
How many months have you been TTC? This will be our 2nd cycle.
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)? Tracking cycle with an app on my phone. Trying to stay GF since i have Celiac Disease.
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) DH and i have been together for 12 years, married for 2. We have a 15 month old daughter, Mila Grace and she is just the absolute light of our life. We have 1 cat and slowly turning our child into the crazy cat lady just like her mama
@adirat I am going to start temping. I am so curious to know if im ovulating and you're right- that's the best way for me to find out. Thanks for the advice!
You can also lurk and join in the conversation in both, and just see where you feel more comfortable at this point.
How many months: 7 yrs unprotected
What ways are we trying: BBT and HIO until FET in Oct '17.
About me: I've been on this site for 7ish years, but had a different name originally. I couldn't remember my old log in, so I made this account last year.
I have stage 4 endometriosis, IR PCOS, only 1 tube left and it is filled with scar tissue... so the likelihood of getting pregnant on our own is <1%. I just want to see if the switch in metformin will allow me to ovulate, and might as well take advantage of it if I am!
We have an 8 month old IVF baby, and several frozen babies waiting for us to try again in Oct. when we don't succeed.
p.s. I suck at mobile bumping. the language and etiquette have changed in 7 years. I kinda miss the crazy, drama filled posts and the diehard fierce regs. When drive-bys call you rude, I laugh hysterically! They have no idea how they would have been eaten alive back in the day. You are all very gentle and sweet.
Welcome! I was on the bump back in 07/08 too...I miss the ridiculousness too, haha! Kept me entertained all day long, and the boards were super active back then. I am still in touch with a couple of the ladies I met on here back in the day, too :-)

What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.) We have an almost 10 month old that took way longer than expected to conceive! He's the light of my life. We have a pit mix, a small fuzzy terrier, and a cat. I'm an event manager for the local branch of a nation wide marketing company and H is in the oil field. Lately my hobbies include being active in my local mommy groups, sewing, painting, doing anything crafty, and hanging out with my son.

We have been married almost 10 years and have 3 children. Our youngest daughter passed away at 13 and a half months old to SUDC in August 2015. We have decided to TTC, but aren't ready to share with anyone IRL, so I'm excited to be here. I know there are loss groups on TB as well, but I am a part of other loss groups already and really just want to be here to focus on TTC, if you'll have me!
@Ejay2 I am so sorry for your loss. Lots of ladies on this board also participate in other boards. You are certainly welcome to post here as well as other places on TB.
