suddenly I'm famished. and it's not just because baby has dropped, she has been low for a couple weeks now. I ate an entire steak dinner last night, whereas I have only been good for a couple bites for anything lately. DH is fascinated by my appetite.
not sure whether I want to sleep or eat right now.
I haven't been able to breath out of my right nostril for weeks. and the shortness of breath and i'm just a loud roaring mess. I would probably be snoring except I can't sleep for more than a couple hours without peeing.
I feel like I want to drink all the ice cold water that the world has to offer right now, which doesn't help with the frequent peeing Also, my lady bits feel slightly swollen, baby has definitely dropped low and is putting lots of pressure down there.
As far as energy, I get a burst and then crash to sleep before getting another burst of energy.
Yes to all those. Eating more - ice water - swelly bits -energy bursts followed by total crashes all the same discomforts but it now feels like they are just my life. Like before I was so aware that they were due to being pregnant but lately I feel like I've resigned to the fact that I'll just feel like crap and sleep like crap for forever. Oh man I hope that's not true.
My baby keeps fluctuating between being either extremely high or low... like I'm burping up half my stomach because there's no room or I am waddling because I can feel it's head between my legs. There is no middle ground. I too either have insane amounts of energy and motivation or absolutely none! At least I'm sleeping great (other than still peeing 4x a night).
@maamawaabangi yes to the fluctuating positions! Mostly she just feels high enough to keep my reflux fueled, but other times the pelvic pressure is REAL and fierce.
Another vote for ice water, but is ice water giving anyone else heartburn/reflux?? It's killing me! Constipation... exhaustion... so many whoremones I just want to cry all day err day. Sciatic pain like whoa... not super hungry but still packing on the pounds in these final weeks. It's probably the egg nog and whipped cream habit I've developed as of late.
All I want to eat is San Pelegrino (blood orange... for the love not any other flavor!!!) it's so bad I hid three cans in my birth kit... not even joking!
Veggie cream cheese on MINI bagels (I am using moderation).
And soup of any kind.
My husband came home from working all day in the cold and sweetly said, "You made soup... again? I was just thinking we ought to go out for pad Thai." Code for, you can't possibly expect me to eat another bowl of soup.
Lol! I am with almost all the symptoms swollen everywhere, including lady bits. Exhausted just from standing, everything is a chore! My belly feels way to big for my little body. Also hungry, and drinking mass amounts of iced coconut water, regular water, and iced tea. I'm getting poked in the ribs at the same time that my bladder is getting stomped on. Definitely breech today, but he shifts everyday. Yesterday was transverse! Day before was head down. The worst symptom? My brain. I feel like I've had a few drinks at all times.
I feel all your pain. I have constant swelling. The worst is the actual pain associated with it in my right arm, wrist, and fingers. And using a splint doesn't help at all, so I am up all night from the pain. I have back pain that is very painful some days, then virtually none on others. I've tried to find a common cause for the pain, but I pretty much have the same routine every day, so no ideas there. Heartburn is a nightly occurrence, and it is not pleasant, especially when I vomit a little into my mouth. And baby is still so high that going up the stairs in my house makes me lose my breath.
Both of my legs are swollen up to my thighs...knee caps are gone. I can't elevate my legs because I can't be on my back that long cuz my stomach goes too low and the weight of 2 babies is just too much!!
Taking all my effort not to wish these babies out of my body....
@yellingbanana I'll take that award- things are really getting ridiculous haha! I've actually been avoiding public because I'm such a spectacle . .... and every older lady wants to talk to me about it.
So this one's a weird one, and I'm interested to hear if anyone is experiencing something similar: lately I've been noticing that right before a BH comes on I get this really weird anxious tightening sensation in my chest. It's hard to describe, but it's almost like my breath is being taken away with adrenaline.
I actually did a Google search, and there are other boards out there where people have reported the same issue. One person speculated that it was because the diaphragm was being compressed by the uterus. I don't know! But I want to know if I'm the only one on here

@PensiveCrayon You are definitely not the only one. I've noticed lately that my BH take my breath away, and right before I get this thing called "air hunger" where I can't really get a deep satisfying breath, if that makes sense. It's not really a shortness of breath, just that I can't get that satisfying one and usually end up sighing/yawning a lot until it passes. I get the same sensation in everyday/non-;pregnant life when I get anxious so I figured it was either just the overall tightening that caused the sensation or that it was making me slightly anxious.
@PensiveCrayon thats totally the sensation I feel during a contraction... I feel like my diaphragm is being pressed on or an overall tightening of my entire abdomen. I also get a sort of funny tingling sensation or a rippling or radiating feeling just prior to one coming on... it's hard to describe.
@yellingbanana I'll take that award- things are really getting ridiculous haha! I've actually been avoiding public because I'm such a spectacle . .... and every older lady wants to talk to me about it.
I would pay to see you say to the older ladies "No, I'm not pregnant." That would quiet them so fast, and then you don't have to talk details because they'd be so embarrassed.
@PensiveCrayon the chest tightening with BH is my norm, then I'm trying to take deep breaths and I look like I'm in labor. But I'm not. I'm also kind of a small person, so there is a lot of competition for space in my body at the moment. My lungs definitely got the short straw.
Starving all the time!!! We ate dinner around 8:30 and I just had a banana and 3 cuties/halos whatever those mandarin oranges are....and I'm lying here thinking about going to get donuts for breakfast tomorrow because there's nothing else to snack on. Also maybe tmi but gassy! And baby hitting my cervix at unexpected moments OWWWWW.
@aevan011 I feel like you are channeling my thoughts... I just want to keep eating. And I'm not sure what is going on with the gas, but I might have traumatized my kids tonight
Yes yes yes to the chest tightness directly before and during a contraction, insatiable hunger (though I rarely know what I want), cervix thumping and gas. this morning while getting ready for work I thought I'd let one go to relieve some of this stomach pressure. I was on the second floor and SO was in the basement and he HEARD it. Sadly, the power of its sound did not take away from the smell. Who am is this woman I've become?!
Omg the gas. Thankfully DH has it almost as bad as I do it's just a fart fest instead of just disgust and repulsion. And the sharp cervix pains. I am telling myself they mean something, otherwise it's just cruel.
@slartybartfast I get the tooth pressure too. No real explanation though! I usually get up and brush and floss again to at least put my mind at ease that they aren't falling out. But it doesn't help the pressure go away.
After having 0 swelling this whole pregnancy it finally decided to show up in the last few weeks. I am hungry all the time now. I just had a bagel and chocolate milk for breakfast and I am seriously considering having a bowl of cereal now. Over the weekend I lost my plug (again) and DH and I tried to speed up the labor process by DTD, and afterwards I cramped all night. Period-like cramps, not really contractions. Anyone else experience this?

Add me to the chest tighening club. Thats how I've been describing them to my Drs, too. It's like this radiating tingly sensation that turns into, what feels like, vice grips on my lungs and overall chest. It doesn't necessarily take my breath away completely, but I absolutely get shortness of breath and just have to take little breaths through it.
@phoenix870509 - I've been getting the period cramps off and on for about 2ish weeks now. I seem to get them more at night and first thing in the morning. They have been more pronounced after having sex for me as well. I asked my Dr about them and she said it was probably my uterus "doing something, hopefully to get ready for the baby" but didn't seem concerned and didn't think they were contractions.
Not pregnancy related but I feel like I'm getting a cold. ive had four days worth of back pain(top between dhoulders and lower back) swelling in my hands and feet. Not extreme but my wedding ring isn't loose anymore at certain points during the day. Contractions but they barely get stronger or closer together but don't don't go away when I drink, change position or take a shower or bath. I wake up 5× a night to pee I feel like I've gotten more emotional and more altogether tired but also feeling really nesty...is that a word? I've checked my hospital bag 4 times to make sure I've got everything just in case. I organized our bedroom closet and clean every room in the rest of the house everyday. I feel like I could go into labor at any moment. My husband is worried and said during morning sex this morning that he could feel my uterus or something and he can tell the baby is really low and I was like I know I can feel it too all the time. I called my doctor's office the other day and the nurse said she thought I should go to l/d and be seen and I just don't want to go for no reason and cause my husband to have to get off work for no reason. So it's just the waiting game at this point. We're so ready to meet our little boy......maybe this week sometime. Wish me luck ladies.
There's no appointment thread yet, so this could fit here! just got my results from the cholestasis test and the majority of the results came back normal apart from one abnormal liver enzyme reading. Since I'm still having the crazy itchiness on my palms and feet they want to schedule a consult for me at the hospital where we will talk about medication. Overall a good report! But I'm glad I called!

*stuck in box*
I did this! A cashier asked me when I was due and with the most serious expression I replied "Oh, I'm not pregnant." her jaw completely dropped and she instantly started stuttering.. "oh, umm.. " and I couldn't hold my laugh in any longer. I said "I'm joking! I'm due in a month" She looked like the kind of person who could take a joke and quite frankly could use one that day. Now I can cross that off my bucket list.
My joints are popping like crazy. Every time I wake up in the middle of the night to go to the bathroom (which is like, 100 times), I pop a shoulder and/or a hip and/or an ankle. It seems so loud.
@temmetime this happened to me, except I wasn't pregnant so the awkward was thick in the air. It was awesome though, no regrets or hard feelings. DD1 was only like 5 months or something and we were walking around Costco collecting samples, of course. This one older sample lady said, "oh wow! When are you having the baby??" And I just said, "Um, she's right here." And pointed to DD. She had no words. H and I just laughed it off and took our samples and ran. I doubt she will be commenting on pregnant bellies any time soon.

Stuck in the box. This happened while I was driving to work the other day. It was so scary.

My belly has been one big cramp since yesterday. It's nothing I can time and I didn't have anything like this (that I recall) at the end with DD1. If it doesn't go away today I'm guessing I should get a call in to my doctor? I'm mainly guessing it's digestive-system related but it's so hard to tell these days!
