  • @WombThereItIs oh, that makes a lot more sense, then!  I know medic alert makes a lot of different styles of medical IDs, maybe they would have something available that would work?
  • @thistlenweeds that's a good one! I've already gotten quite a few of those.

  • @lulubemadness, my super smart science friend just posted this on FB the other day for someone who was asking about flu shots.

"Btw, the flu shot consists of deactivated viruses. That means that the viruses are no longer capable of infecting your body. Some people react slightly to it because it triggers your body's inflammatory response, as part of the process of creating antibodies. The reactions people have are usually minor, but every body is different, and will react slightly differently depending on their personal health and immune system strength.

The point of the vaccination is to trigger your body to create antibodies to that deactivated virus, so that if you encounter the real deal, you already have the antibodies to the virus and can fight it off much quicker. Getting the shot doesn't mean you will be virus proof, it generally just means you'll be able to fight off the virus much quicker and with fewer symptoms."

  • So... maternity underwear? The last two days I have been walking around with my underwear only staying on because I am wearing pants. I don't know what to do! It's uncomfortable and I was worried that everyone could tell yesterday when I wore leggings. I can't see how maternity underwear would be better than what I have now. I am convinced that I have a weird body shape and it's my fault that I can't keep them up. Anyone else in the same awkward boat?

  • @arels483 I never wore maternity underwear w/ my first and was just wondering what it was for or what the benefit was.  I assume it does help other body types.  I've recently noticed all my underwear seem a bit too small lately.  I'm assuming that's a side of pregnancy and has nothing to do with the fact that I may be storing more junk in my trunk lately.   ;)

  • I bought maternity underwear with my first and found them to be a waste. I was better off just buying normal underwear one size up.

  • I never wore maternity underwear with my first and don't plan to with this one. I wore mostly hipster underwear from Target. I know some moms just get a pack or two of cheap hanes underwear for the duration of their pregnancy and for some of postpartum while there's still a lot of bleeding then go back to their old undies.

  • Maternity underwear never made sense to me. Especially the crazy ones that come halfway up the bump.

Once my undoes got uncomfortable in the third tri I got some comfy cotton Hanes multipack granny panties and then gave no fucks when I bled all over those things post partum.

  • Most of my underwear started getting uncomfortable a few weeks ago. I wear thongs and my Hanky Pankies are still good since they're OS, but everything else is kind of...ugh in the waist. I was just going to size up (still plan too) but I was reading reviews on Gap maternity underwear and there were so many "I didn't see the point of maternity underwear...until I tried these! so much better!" so I ordered 1 pair and will see when they come in next week.

  • Same as @pshaortao I just wear hipster /bikini undies and since I have hips and booty (lol) they stay on just fine. Actually, I never even heard of maternity underwear until this post.

I didn't know they were a thing either!

I'll third that!! I'm only 14 weeks and some but I haven't personally noticed much change in my undies - and I wear a pretty wide variety. My things are more uncomfortable right now but that's about it. I'll have to look into this maternity underwear business!!
  • I knew maternity underwear was a thing but I just intend to buy bigger if I need to. Is there a valid reason to maternity undies?

  • I don't plan to purchase any maternity panties! I'll stick with my Victoria secret panties until my butt gets too big then I'll switch to some Hanes!

  • I wore maternity underwear my entire pregnancy with DD. Regular panties just become too tight and too uncomfy. Right now, I'm wearing the low rise so they sit under the belly. As I get larger, I like the kind that come up higher around the belly. They're SO COMFY! I just want to wear comfortable cotton panties and these fit the bill. If you are going to buy a larger size anyway, might as well give the maternity a shot.

  • I had no idea maternity undies were a thing either! I wore my regular panties my whole pregnancy with DD and bought some cheap Hanes for post partum. I am probably just going to do the same thing this time.

For anyone looking for new panties, Victoria's Secret has 10 for $35 today only for Pink members.

I had no idea there was maternity underwear. I imagine they are far more comfortable *heart eyes*

Also bought affordable underwear from Target,

I just got back from New York & glad the weather was actually very nice.

I'm also very glad December is here!!! I just love this month, but it will go by just as fast as Nov did!!!

  • For my Chick-fil-a Lemonade loving ladies- go get "Simply Lemonade" at the grocery store! Our chick-fil-a is 30 minutes away so I've been looking for an alternate and this is definitely the closest (if not nearly the same) that I've found! And for those afraid that chick-fil-a's is non-pasteurized this one IS pasteurized.

  • Has anyone done an Honest Co. trial bundle? Did you have any issues cancelling? I just ordered both and am terrified I'll forget to cx and H will NOT be happy.

  • @nda_roxybabe I did it with my DD and ended up having to cancel because the diapers made her rashy. They were super sweet about it and didn't give me any problems or try to rope me back in. I would suggest setting an alarm on your phone to remind you the date you have to cancel.
  • @PghMom412 That's a bummer for your girl, but glad they were cool about it. I set a reoccurring reminder on my calendar and wrote it on my weekly to do list at work.

  • @nda_roxybabe were you the one doing the Wes Anderson themed nursery?  If so, have you seen his new H&M Christmas add?  It is SO good!

  • Just catching up on here from the last couple of days. @bacorrea - I am so sorry your family is going through this, especially right now. Safe travels back home.

As far as the old gender conversation goes, I don't care what my kids want to wear or play with. I'm a girly girl so love girly stuff but DD who barely turned 2 absolutely hates dresses, and I'm ok with that. Both kids play with "boy" and "girl" toys and DS loves to watch My Little Pony. I'm ok with all of it and whatever they want to choose.

  • @ShadeofGreen816 I'm in the drive thru line for lemonade at chick FIL a as we speak!!
  • My husband took one of our cats to the vet this morning and we unexpectedly had to put him down due to kidney failure. The cat was nearly 17 and My husband adopted him almost 10 years ago. Needless to say, he's prettt upset. I wish I could do more than keep our tiny tyrant occupied while he spends some time alone. :(

  • @ChristinaWild I'm so sorry to hear about your cat!
  • @ChristinaWild It's heartbreaking to hear about your cat, especially that it was unexpected. While pregnant with my first, the vet told us our oldest dog had an aggressive cancer and that she might not make it past a couple of months. We decided to take no action until she showed any signs/symptoms of discomfort or change in eating habits. My son is now 16 months and she is still the same ol' dog! I'm hoping she makes it so baby boy #2 gets to meet her as well!
