@Taylor72@HGRich@aboxofchocolates and @amanda041104 Good luck for this week's scan!! Very exciting. Love it how you guys call it anatomy scan. Here we call it anomaly scan (as it scans for anomalies) but it is much nicer to call it a positive word..
Mine is... TODAY!!! in about 3 hours' time... I am so nervous and worried and excited at the same time and just hope that everything is all right with my little boy... My tummy seems to have grown a lot and he has a lovely heartbeat (home doppler - best buy ever), so hopefully all ok with him.
Me: 35 year old FTM, a busy city banker living in London, and a constant worrier. My DH: French guy, car fanatic, best husband ever. Our baby boy: Due on 17 April, currently 37 weeks. I can't believe it - I made it to full term!!!! Last measurement: 3150 gs at 37+1! This is going to be a big baby
Just back from my scan. All ok!!!! baby has grown a lot, moves around, we even saw his little penis, so definitely a boy I also found out that I have an anterior placenta which is probably why I have not felt much movement yet. So happy. Again, best of luck to everyone having a scan this week, report back soon please!!!

AS scan on wednesday. I'm anxious to see the little miss and to see if the tech will tell me where my anterior placenta is - just totally curious. Hoping for an easy visit!
Just got home from my AS. Our princess weighs 13 ounces and looks absolutely perfect. She is definitely a mover and shaker. My placenta has completely moved and I'm no longer on pelvic rest!!! I already told DH to be ready when he gets home haha, 3 months is a long time! Also scheduled my glucose test for a few weeks from now and got the 7am appointment so I won't have to be a hangry bitch for too long.
@smallanimal glad everything went well and that you got an answer as to why you weren't feeling any movement yet.
good luck to everyone that has appointments today/this week!

I can't wait to hear about everyone's AS's!! Still my favorite day as of yet! I have my regular appointment on Friday 12/2 (DECEMBER ALREADY?!?!?!). They scheduled me at 9:45 a.m. with the ARNP for the first time so I'm a bit nervous to meet her. They said if there is any reason to see the Dr. that day then I have to wait until he arrives at 10:30 to see him as well. It's routine pee test, weight, measure fundal height, and review my last 2 weeks of blood pressure measurements. But I will get to hear my lovely boy's heartbeat again, makes it so worth it!
My next appointment wasn't supposed to be until 12/6 and my A/S on 12/9. However, I just received a phone call from the genetic counselor at my clinic and she informed me that Bean had screened positive for spina bifida. I have an appointment at the hospital for an ultrasound and a consult with a genetic counselor tomorrow morning and I am freaking out!
I know it's a screening and I know it's not a diagnosis but it is so so so hard not to worry. Gahhh!!!
@RachelGreene that is stressful. I'm glad they are seeing you right away at least and not making you wait weeks. Sorry to be ignorant, but can they diagnosis it conclusively at this point?
Let us know how your appointment goes!
Me: 31 DH: 36 Married 5 years DD born 8/30/13 #2 expected 4/25/17
I have a regular prenatal on Thursday but I'll be thinking about all of you who have appointments this week. I hope everything looks good! @RachelGreene I hope your scan goes well. How nerve-wracking!
@cafedisco I don't think they can with the screening I got done. I would have to get an NIPT - which I wasn't offered because I wasn't considered high risk. I did the California prenatal screening. I didn't hear anything back from the first trimester blood draw and my NT screening was a wash due to my tilted uterus. I had my second trimester draw on the 18th. The genetic counselor over the phone told me that I will be having an ultrasound tomorrow and then a consult with a genetic counselor to see where to go from there.
@Taylor72 congratulations on the results and glad you are no longer on pelvic rest... hope you and DH had fun last night
@chelle87 congratulations and welcome to club Blue!
@Rachelgreene sorry to hear the news, as you say it is a screening, so let's see what the US has to say. Fingers crossed for you and your baby !! Let us know tomorrow please.
Good luck to everyone else on this week's appointments.
Well my appointment went well! Have to go back later though to look at profile and left heart outflow. But they didn't see anything that would suggest it needs to be soon, so they'll have me in in four weeks. No complaints here! She had her spine up and head in my pelvis.
And apparently I have an anterior placenta! I was so surprised, that the tech explained that if you don't feel much, anterior placenta is usually the reason. But having an anterior placenta doesn't always mean not feeling much. Which I guess makes sense. Maybe it will affect how much I feel her later though. Don't know.
Anyway, it was so good to see her and such a relief.
I'm so sorry @RachelGreene. I'm praying for you both.
@smallanimal & @HGRich Congrats on your anatomy/anomaly scans and welcome to seemingly large group of us that have anterior placentas (this seems odd considering implantation on the anterior side of the uterus is atypical)! @smallanimal You've known for months that you're having a boy, right? I thought you found out via blood testing. There is something, I admit, about that visual confirmation that really makes it sink in.
@HGRich congratulations!! So glad that your little one is looking fine!!
@thecavfamily thank you and yes, we knew, but it was so funny because you could sooo clearly see his little willy, i was surprised that it is that visible!! He is adorable top to bottom

I went to the ultrasound and genetic counselor consult today and thank goodness, everything looks great! I was so so so so worried. It was probably one of the most stressful 24 hours I've been through and I am eternally grateful that Bean is healthy.
The reason I was flagged was because my numbers fell a little higher than the threshold for spina bifida. The threshold is 2.50 and I was screened at 2.72. Based on that I was called into for an urgent ultrasound. The ultrasound was a full anatomy scan and they checked evvvverrryyyttthhhiiinnnggg. The tech was nice enough to ask if we wanted to know the gender and I almost caved, but we're still team green and didn't look at the screen when she was taking pictures of that. They checked for any openings along the spine or the stomach, as well as other markers of spina bifida such as alignment of the brain and club foot. Between no flags on the ultrasound and my low numbers, no further genetic testing was recommended. The only thing the genetic counselor is requesting is an ultrasound to check for growth between 30 and 32 weeks.
I just want to thank you ladies for being so supportive. Everyone has been so invaluable to me, whether we directly interacted or not. Thank you so much for the prayers and well wishes for both me and the Bean - they mean a lot to me.
For everyone waiting for results of screenings/testings or waiting for their A/S - I hope they are all uneventful.
My anatomy scan went great today. We found out we are having another little girl! DD was there for part of it and was VERY excited for about 3 minutes and then that was over. SIL was able to take her home then and DH and I were able to enjoy the rest of the ultrasound. She is in breech position with her feet right on my cervix. I totally could have told you that because cervix kicks are not pleasant and that has been my life the last couple days. The ultrasound tech did the scan and then I was asked if an OB resident could come and practice on me for a few minutes. Our scan was in a big hospital, so that is pretty normal. That was kind of fun seeing someone being taught how to use the ultrasound machine. They looked at my cervix for awhile and then practiced tracing baby's spine. Poor OB student seemed very overwhelmed. That was another fun little 10 minute ultrasound. And then a doctor came in to talk about the results. Baby is looking awesome. She was measuring about a week behind though and so they are having me come in on the 22nd for another ultrasound to check for growth. I am 100% sure on my conception date and so she is either just petite, or something is wrong. I am about 98% sure that she is just petite. But, I will absolutely not refuse another check to make sure she is ok. So, I guess I get at least one more peek before this thing is over with.

@RachelGreene Such a huge relief! So happy! @mrsstuessy yay for another girl! Is DD happy to have a sister? Glad everything looked good. Fx that all is ok with her growth.
@mrsstuessy yay for a good a/s! Also glad you get to have another. Yay for team pink! If it helps, I always measured a week or more behind and it scared my mother but I was just petite!
@KirstinH88 DD doesn't know yet. She wasn't there for the part of the ultrasound where we found out. We are waiting until tomorrow to tell her. We are going to be telling DH's whole family tomorrow and don't want her to ruin it right before we tell them. But, she gets to tell my mom and sister on Skype tomorrow night. She will be thrilled. Although, I think she would be happy either way. The ultrasound tech asked her what she thought the baby was going to be. She said, it was a sister. The tech asked what she would do if it was a brother. DD simply said, "play with it."
@HGRich I am not very concerned. DD was small when she was born. So, I wouldn't be surprised if my babies just tend to run small. I told the OB that though and she said at 20 weeks that wouldn't be the case. I don't get how that is true. But, I am still pretty confident she is just small.

@RachelGreene wooohoo best news today! so happy for you! congratulations, must be a massive relief @mrsstuessy congratulations for the baby girl! good to hear that everything seems ok, and I wouldn't worry about the growth either, because whilst you can be 100% sure of the day you had sex, you never know when you ovulated exactly (kits can fail), and the sperm can stay alive in there for up to 6 days, and can fertilise the egg on day 1 or day 5, for example, which would explain you being a week behind. I am actually the opposite, and a week ahead, and it should be impossible because it would mean I got fertilised about 2 days after my period was over, but my doctor said it is very possible. Yay for your next scan - always good to have an extra one.

@RachelGreene to echo everyone else, so happy for you. It is great we get all this testing done (I know I talk to my mom about them and she has no idea what they even are) but they can be stressful as well.
I had to go to the hospital last night for a fever. I had been battling it for two days and my obgyn told me if it hit 101 I had to go to the hospital. Well it hit 102 so I went. They did look work which showed no infection and all they could come up with was a viral infection. Baby's heart was good. It was just so scary. Before being pregnant I wouldn't have thought twice about a fever at 102 for two days. Just would have rested. AS scan tomorrow, can't wait
@smallanimal I was temping my cycle, so I do know for sure the day I ovulated. But, I am really not worried. She will just be a little smaller than average, which my vagina is totally ok with, as long as she is healthy. It will be fun to have an ultrasound a few days before Christmas. A little present for myself.
@KirstinH88 She really is. She is going to be the best big sister. She was telling everyone in the waiting room yesterday that she is a big sister and she was going to go see her baby. It was one of those moments that I tried to freeze and hold on to for forever. It made all the hard moments worth it.

I didn't have a dr appointment this week but I got the results back Monday of the blood work we had done to check for Down's Syndrome since we had the marker show up on her A/S on the 18th. Everything came back perfectly normal and she's looking great! I was SO surprised especially with the holidays in there that the results came back so fast - they said expect 7-10 working days and it was 4! We would have been just fine either way, but it is so relieving to know for sure all is well!
