I have an ultrasound tomorrow. Possible TW*: Last week I had one and they are concerned there is a yolk sac, but there was no fetal pole. I was supposed to be 6 weeks 5 days based on LMP, but I have 35 day cycles and didn't even DTD until the week of October 23. My doctor seemed pretty confident I would MC, but so far no symptoms of that looming. If I do MC it will be my third. Hoping and praying the ultrasound shows growth!
@amack2388 I had a similar situation. First US 11/21. Thought I was at least 7 weeks along. All they saw was yolk sac and fetal pole but no heartbeat. I go back tomorrow to hopefully hear a heartbeat. My cycles have been crazy and averaging about 45 days so I'm hopeful I was just off on O date. Doctor seemed optimistic given the extreme nausea I've been experiencing for close to 1 month at this point. FX we both get good news tomorrow.
Question: I'm still technically with the RE's office, not my regular OBGYN. When the nurse scheduled the appt for this week, she called it an OB scan. I'm assuming that means ultrasound, but does anyone have any insight? I fully realize that I should have asked her at that time, but I never think of stuff like this until later.

I have my first appointment on Friday at 7:30. I didn't take the day off in hopes that the appointment goes well and I will just be on cloud nine after the appointment. Here's being optimistic...I feel like absolute crap, so hopefully that is the baby saying everything is going to be okay.

I am supposed to see my OBGYN on the 2nd but that was before I ended up seeing her at my last appointment so I am not sure if she still wants / needs me to come in since I don't know what this appointment was for. Waiting on an answer from them.

I had a midwife appointment today - first one. They couldn't hear the heartbeat with the doppler so she put us down for an ultrasound next Monday. I'm 8 weeks so it's nothing to be concerned about yet but still nervous!
We have our first ultrasound tomorrow with my RE! Can't wait! Hoping for great news and really hoping for only one baby. My betas were super high even though we only transferred one embyro. Our chance of identical twins are higher because of ICSI though. I'm nervous! Also crossing my fingers that we won't have to do PIO injections for too much longer and I'll be able to be released to my OB quickly.

Yup, that will be an ultrasound!

@ninambutler just curious, what were your first beta numbers? At 12 DPO mine were 12,022 and my RE said no need to do another draw. Waiting on my appt Friday, but I was curious about your numbers.

My first appointment is Saturday. I will be slightly more that 7 weeks. I'm not positive what will happen, other than bloodwork, of course. I have heard some people that use my OB and love him say that they got an ultrasound at the first appointment. I have heard others that hate him say that he made them wait until 20 weeks for the first one. I have a feeling it might be a case of remembering and hearing what you want to remember and hear. Either way, this will be my first appointment since I got a positive. I didn't even go to a PCP for a confirmation. I'm pretty excited to feel like the process is getting started, as it were. This is something I have been waiting for and dreaming about most of my life.
I have my first OB appt on Wednesday and I'm so nervous I could make myself sick. My last was a preemie and I'm just so nervous to be pregnant again. I begged (and cried) for an appt this early! I need to know what the plan is!
Good luck to everyone with appointments this week! I had my first ultrasound yesterday at 6+1 and can totally relate to the nerves. Thankfully, everything went really well and we even got to see and hear the heart beat! HB of 118 bpm and the baby is measuring right on schedule. I'll go in for another u/s next Thursday wth the fertility specialist before hopefully graduating to an OB.

I had my first appointment today, got an ultrasound and I'm measuring 6w1d. Wasn't able to see the baby (fetal pole), so she asked me to come back in two weeks though she did see a white halo in the sac and said she's not worried, just has to make sure everything is alright.
I'm going to have to work closely with my endocrinologist to help manage my thyroid through the pregnancy since I also have hypothyroidism, but hopefully it won't be too much of an issue. My BP was 137/71, which I guess is a bit high, but not too worrisome. I had major BP issues last pregnancy which led to bedrest, so my BP will be closely monitored throughout.
All in all, it was a good visit and I'm feeling optimistic about it all even though it does feel overwhelming sometimes!
Update on my appointment: went super well! They pushed my due date back a day, but baby was in there with a heartbeat of 165 - we even got to hear it!!!

@leilac Congratulations! I'm so happy for you that you got to hear a tiny heartbeat. So magical.
Had my first appointment with ultrasound (using 'the wand') yesterday. We got to see a little blob with a beating heart. It made everything seem more real but I'm still in a daze about it. I tend to connect more when I can feel the baby move. GL to all you ladies with appointments later this week! FX for you

Mine was 2000 at 13dp5dt, so 18DPO. Wow that is high!! No wonder they didn't want another draw. They usually consider it viable and great after 10,000 and stop testing.

My appointment Wednesday went okay I guess. All my meds for my heart/autonomic disorder are catergory D so I'm having to stop them all and start new ones. **possible TW** I'm not as far along as they originally thought by over a week, so now we don't know if baby is growing. So now I have an US scheduled for next Wednesday to check for growth. And I have small SCH.
I got seen on Monday for an ultrasound (came back great!) and I'm going tomorrow for my first prenatal with my first doctor. I'm interviewing two of them, although I'm not sure they know that.

@supermom83 I have hypothyroidism also, onset by my last pregnancy. Do you work with an endocrinologist only for this issue, or for other complicating factors? Mine has been completely managed by my OB and GP, so far. I'm just curious, apologies if I'm being too nosy.
We had our first US yesterday and were so relieved to hear the doctor repeat "perfect!" several times throughout it. I don't know what most of these numbers and terms are that you all are discussing - my care is mostly at the higher level, "all is good" or "this one thing is an issue." That suits me, though.
So good to see all these happy appointments! This is such an exciting time!!

Because I am good at convincing myself of the worst, I have convinced myself that today's ultrasound is not going to go well and they're going to find a problem. Of course they are, because my H can't come because of work.

So pretty much the worst morning EVER!!! Went for my ultrasound, feeling optimistic...the tech starts the wand up...sac(S) and nothing...no babies. She's measuring, she's talking "these aren't measuring at 7.5 weeks" and she's done. Then a nurse calls me back and says "it looks like two empty gestational sacs...not looking good...re-scan on Wednesday and maybe a DNC right after..." I'm just crying with my husband and a stranger.
A few hours later my doctor calls me and says that the nurse really had no business trying to schedule all of that, you can't say it's a missed AB without 2-3 scans and no growth, she's incredibly sorry. I'm going back in two weeks for a scan with my doctor in the room to either show no progress of twins or, by miracle, something...
Thanks for reading my epic novel. I'm going to crawl in a warm nest for two weeks now.
