@klkrieg - Both my daughters have what I consider traditional/old lady names: Eleanor Rose ("Ellie") and Clare Elizabeth
For a boy we are leaning towards Thomas Burton after my grandfather who passed away this year. I also like Ben for a boy. My husband likes traditional Biblical names.
For a girl - no idea. The name Lucille/Lucy popped into my head last week so that is probably on the list.
Omg, my girl name is Ellie Lucy (maybe Lucille)! How funny!
Highly monitored internet and no cell service in the office, so I'm postin' and ghostin' while I'm workin'
I like Evelyn Marie and Brandon (haven't thought of a middle yet for a boy...) my dh isn't a fan of Evelyn... still have time to convince him. We like more traditional names
Love so many of your names! We are thinking for a girl Stella and if its a little boy Grey.. We are pretty set on Stella but the boy could change. But I am liking it so far.
@mango15 - I really like Evelyn! I'm also an older, traditional name person. Some we're thinking of: Charlotte, Eleanor, Amelia, Eliza, Claire, and Annabeth. Maybe one of those you also like and your DH is more into?
@chiquita928- we're super Irish, too, and adore Maeve and Eamonn
We have lots of girl name ideas (albeit, few we can agree on) but not too many boys. Can't really use two of my faves--Ryan (hubs is Brian) and Nate (DD is Kate). We definitely like short and sweet--Do you guys think Meg can be short for Margaret? I've only known Maggies or Margies...
I already have three daughters: Norelle, Liira, and Aveline. My husband gets to name our newest if it is a boy, but I need to figure out a name for a girl. I would like it to be unique, yet feminine. I am partial to Vienne right now, but I don't yet LOVE it. Any thoughts or ideas are appreciated.
@MomSDY-- Stella is a top choice for me, too. Do you find it to be/becoming a popular name where you live? I know two little ones with that name--and it wouldn't detract me from it, just wondering if it's gaining in popularity. Before now, the only Stella I knew was a great Aunt...

I like Stella too, but it is becoming more popular where I am!
Thinking Regan Everly if it's a girl! We're using specific letters in our first and middle name to honor people in our lives who have passed (R for a grandma and E for a best friend). Not sure if my current choice sounds odd? Our last name is only one syllable so I thought multiple for first and middle would help balance it out

I have two kindergartners at school named Stella. We have about 500 kids in the school so...1 in 250?
Need opinions: The only girl name that has got me excited is Layna. Today one of my good friends named her daughter Rayna. My husband assumes this means Layna is off the table, I don't think it needs to be. I think as a little girl she would probably go by Laney anyways. Would you name your child something this close assuming they will be friends? (Of coarse this will only happen if we have a girl, And my husband gets on board with the name)

Yes, I absolutely would. I don't think you can make decisions about a name you love based on what your friend named her daughter on the off chance that your kids will be friends. They may well be best friends, but that doesn't mean that their names can't be similar. I say go with the name that excites and you and that feels right. Don't settle.

All the names are so fun. I could read this thread forever.
I'm kinda hoping for a boy (this is our first baby), who will probably be named after a departed family member. But all the cute girl names are making me think a girl might not be too bad after all!
@manda95816 I wanted a boy for my first because I loved the name we had picked out and wanted to use it so bad. We had a boy! We couldn't agree on a girls name to save our lives but the thought of my husband wrapped around his little girls finger gave me all the feels. I feel like we are going into this pregnancy with a fresh new list and I actually likes names for both!

We will have problems with boy names this time around if we're team blue. Our last boy took us some time to find a name. Want a traditional name that's not hard to spell or pronounce(older kids complaining about that lol).
As for a girl we've had that picked out since 2012 (first "our" pregnancy)
Nora Eve
Can't wait to find out what we're having. March seems so far away.
I keep going back and forth on names that I like. Both of my sons names start with a BR, which wasn't even intentional, but now I feel like I have to carry that on. The boy name that I am considering is Brennan John (middle name is after our grandpas) and for a girl I am considering Brynn Elise or Brynn Elisabeth. I really don't know though. My other two children are Bryce Ryan and Brody Michael.

I thought you were my sister in law for a second! Those are her two kid's names. Only difference is Brody is spelt with and ie.

I really don't think you need to limit yourself to BR names!! a b name is fine if you say all three together. and if it's a girl, well, you can break the b thing altogether!
Our boy name would be Andrew Thompkins V, our girl name would be Amelia Willow I asked the hubs if he wanted to continue with the Andrew name and he said sure
@MamaMarsee I love all those names! Atticus and Brooks are both really cool (I like Brooks because I grew up going to Orioles games, so I love Brooks Robinson). They are uncommon but still familiar, unusual but not trying too hard. I really like Quinn for a girl, too! Both my girls have more traditional girls names, otherwise I would love a unisex name like that.
Ok, WWYD? My H this morning said he was thinking more and more about the name Benjamin for a boy. It was his dad's name (and it's actually my first choice for a boy name when compared to Dylan). However, I know so many friends that have recently had boys that named them this. Since it's a family name, would you still consider it? (FWIW, the name would probably be Benjamin Claude after the granddads.)

@lfk2013 - if you both love it and it's a family name I'd go for it. I have a few students named Benjamin but there are a variety of nicknames (I have Ben, Benjamin, and Benji) if you want to differentiate from friends sons more.
@lfk2013 Benjamin is such a great, classic name. I would go for it (although I don't worry a ton about having common names). It is rising on the charts but it's not anything to worry about, imo. Like @baxgirl says, lots of good nicknames. Always nice to honor family, too! As an aside, I love the name Claude, both for a girl or a boy. So cool and underused.
My husband's side has a tradition of naming all the men in their family with the initials GLL so our first son was Grant Lee. If this one is a boy too, we will use Gunner Lane. I hated it at first, thought it sounded real redneck but since then I've seen a few boys with the name and it's grown on me and I LOVE it. I also love Garrison but hubby isn't on board. It's hard thinking of other G names that haven't been used in his family - there are only so many! For a girl, we finally agreed on a name - Sadie Grace. I loved Kennedy for the longest time and still do, but hubby isn't fond of it.
Haha glad to hear it @MrsN092714! I just want a boy because I want a mini version of DH, as strange as that probably sounds! Lol.
That's exactly why I'd want a boy! (We're hoping for a girl because she would fit easily into our lives already, but I would not mind our lives being shaken up with a boy!)

Maybe I am and I just said it was spelled with a Y to throw you off. Seriously though that is crazy and pretty awesome!

Thank You so much for saying this! I keep going back and forth on what to do because obviously I am very limited with just BR names so hearing someone else say this makes me feel a little better if I do decide not to go with a BR name. Also, I know I am totally doing the quote thing wrong, I need to go look it up and see how to do it again.
DH and I have talked about baby names since we got married 10 years ago. Boys names have always been easy for us. But it took us 9 years to agree on a girls name!!! I love the name Nadya after my grandmother and DH hates it! Every girls name I pick he vetoes so I'm so glad he likes this one!
Boy- Greyson Lee (mn after his dad) Girl- Alexis (nn Lexi)
Now we have to figure out a mn to go with Alexis. Ugh! Any suggestions are very much appreciated!

I think Lee goes well with Alexis, too. Or, if you like your maiden name you could always use that as her middle name.
