I look forward to hearing all the nursery themes and seeing pics. My LO will not have a nursery until August, when we get moved to RI, probably more like September with the move. I will probably thieve themes because I am horrible at decorating.
@Kipperoo Are you familiar with Wes Anderson (Darjeeling Limited, Life Aquatic, Fantastic Mr. Fox...)? I love his movies, the way he films and the color schemes he uses are so appealing to me. SO, we're doing a "Wes Anderson" theme. Retro and modern elements mixed with colors from his palettes (reddish orange, mustard, green) and then stealing little things from his movies like, the wallpaper print in The Royal Tenenbaums will be the print we use for the crib sheet. We're team green so I love that it's gender neutral.
What are you doing for baby girl?
Ooh! That sounds SO adorable! Yes, I am very familiar with Wes Anderson--Darjeeling Limited sets were seriously masterpieces (as are all of his works, but that one in particular). Are you having the crib sheet made or did you find the print somewhere?
I'm still piecing the nursery together, but it will definitely be modern and probably a bit graphic. My son's bed room is mostly black and white and I still love it. I'm thinking this room will be black, white, grey, natural wood, with pops of color (not one specific color, likely many different ones). I ordered her crib from Babyletto today and I'm SO excited to get it in and start building the rest of the room around it.

Oh. My. Gosh. A Wes Anderson theme nursery is like my dream. Not to be a creep but I can't wait to see pictures.
@Kipperoo I actually found a crib sheet on Etsy that has the red background with the zebras! I also found a seller to make crocheted characters for the mobile. Love that idea for a girl nursery! Our house is mostly whites and greys and I love how clean and light it feels. Babyletto cribs are so pretty!
@RainyDays86 I am excited to start getting it together and share pictures! I really hope I pull it off.
If anyone has ideas on Wes Anderson type things to incorporate, I'd love to hear them!
@nda_roxybabe I would gladly assist eating those!! And I dont even like cake. They look so yummy though.
@tenfour I am in the opposite boat. I want to eat constantly! Mostly nothing healthy either, but if it gets in my way I will probably eat healthy things too.
@BabyMC517 - I've never been given direction about food intake before an appointment except for the one where they test for gestational diabetes, but my guess would be that she was talking about the 20 week ultrasound because they say that food wakes up baby and gets them moving, which I would think is what they want when they have to check all those body parts.

@tenfour That was a huge issue for me around 12 weeks. Everything made me uncomfortably full. It's gone away for the most part, but does still happen on occasion (even when not over eating). It's miserable!
@tenfour I feel like my stomach capacity is SO small right now! I can eat like 10 bites of a meal and I'm full for hours. Its so weird. Its probably why I'm still losing weight even though I mostly feel better.
@tenfour The last couple of days after lunch I have felt so full. To the point where I don't even think there is room for water. Hopefully this feeling doesn't last long.
@nda_roxybabe are you in the DC area? My parents live in Georgetown and walking distance to Georgetown cupcakes. The cupcakes are great but you have to try Pie Sisters- they are the best!
Speaking of eating, I have a random complaint--I'm realizing that I am tragically deprived in the snacking department by having mainly a fall/winter pregnancy instead of spring/summer. I'm a big fruit snacker and I'm eyeing this disappointing tangerine like, why aren't you bountiful summer berries or summer mangos or plump watermelon chunks you jerk. (I've tried buying some off-season fruit to satisfy cravings but the blueberries taste like sawdust and the mangos appear to be composed of strings.)
@cato99 I agree! Last pregnancy I would just cut a watermelon in half and go after it with a spoon while watching tv. That sounds sooooooo good right now!!!
We're moving so that we will have some much needed space but even once we move the babies will have to share for a while bc the fourth bedroom will be the bonus room upstairs and DD is too young to go up there yet. The new babies will have a pretty small room to share so I'm wondering if anyone has used a mini crib? How long will they work? Don't want to buy two and end up having to buy cribs later anyway
Okay here's my random question!! Need any and all recommendations for a tandem stroller! My daughter will just turn 3 when number two is due and I have no idea what to get!!
@Jkp7749 I think it depends on whether or not you have big kids. We used a mini crib for DS at my mom's and it worked pretty well until he could stand and climb. So maybe 11ish months? He's a really tall kid though, 95th percentile, so that may have had something to do with it.
boo. I think we make big babies plus walked by 9 1/2 months so if it only works until they can stand/climb we would still have to buy another one anyway. I'm switching her to a toddler bed soon, but 11 months wouldn't cut it.

I'd recommend a modular stroller with a second seat attachment, I personally think the City Select is great for a toddler + baby. I had a Phil & Teds with the second seat and I wasn't a fan of the seat on the bottom because DH and I are taller and we would kick the bottom seat occasionally. The City Select works much better for us. That being said I love SBS strollers but with your kiddos age difference I don't know if it would be worth the money.
We were planning to start house hunting at the beginning of next year but just learned that interest rates may go up at least half a percent if not more, by the end of Dec. Because of this we may start sooner than planned. Eeks!
@cato99 I feel you. I have spent more than I care to admit on the pre-cut watermelon at the grocery store. It is such poor quality but it still tastes SO GOOD. I'm all for all the fruits. I've always liked fruit, but its all I crave.
@Wildflowers and Ferns I would definitely try to get a nurse on the phone. The fever would worry me a little, not to stress you out. What is up with these doctors not returning calls? That's a bit ridiculous if you ask me.

@cato99 Yessssssssss! I'm such a summer fruit girl too! I was due late July with my first so I was VERY happy at the end of my pregnancy. But because of someone's post awhile back, I've been addicted to the Honeycrisp apples lately!!

Yes, a rate increase seems likely after the December FOMC meeting. However it is likely to be only 25 basis points (0.25%) and what they are doing is increasing the targeted federal funds rate which isn't a rate they even set directly. It is the rate banks charge each other to borrow money. I would be especially dubious of a 0.5% increase because inflation expectations are still low and wage growth is only starting to show stronger growth.
This does have effects on banks banks lending rates in turn but to suggest that this would generate a 0.5% increase in 30 year fixed mortgage rates is highly unlikely. For example after the last 0.25% fed increase 30 year rates actually stayed quite stable or trended down further because of other factors like inflation expectations. It is definitely not a 1:1 relationship.
Tldr; don't let a realtor push you before you're ready. Talk to your bank about their historical rates and what to expect.
@lilbeautysxt - I have had a graco double and we now we have the Chicco Cortina double. I'm not one that would spend hundreds and hundreds on a stroller though. The graco was good as long as you get the lightweight version; however, I do feel like the Chicco is better. Very easy to maneuver and excellent features.

@chickyclg I call the nurse line all the time. I figure it's better to call and be told it's nothing than to not call and it end up being something that needs attention. Are you able to keep anything down at all?
At what point do you call the doctor when you have a stomach bug, stomach acid and water are all I'm throwing up since 3 am.
So sorry your not feeling well! The same thing happened to me when I was pregnant with DD2. My OB recommended I head to an urgent care/ER for fluids. I felt 10000% better after just a single bag of IV fluids and some nausea meds.

@mcvgal can't keep anything down, I even tried to take a Zofran and tossed it up 5 minutes later. I called the nurse and she told me to try Kaopectate and try to eat some Jello or pudding. If things don't get better by this afternoon then she wants me to call back after lunch. She said she is worried about possible dehydration at this point.
@H&pmomma thanks hun, I am thinking IV fluids is our plan B.

Thanks for explaining all that! Its very new to us and we are much more clueless than we realized. We got confirmation from our financial advisor its more likely a .25 increase like you said. My parents had heard up to .5 in the news. If it was half a percent increase, it would still be an extra 36k over the next 30 years with our budget, or 18 with .25 increase so its a lot since houses aren't cheap here. Because our lease ends in April, its not really a big deal to pay extra for a couple months just to get the lower rate especially if we find the right house for us. We are getting in touch with a realtor that came strongly recommended so we can meet with him and figure out if we click well, and to at least get the ball rolling.
