Not really a confession, but I deactivated my Facebook yesterday. And so far I am WAY happier. Evidently, avoiding posts that piss me off is healthy

My FFFC is that I helped paint the nursery a little. Just the trim and I only worked an hour, wore long sleeves and immediately took a shower. H wouldn't have gotten it done if I hadn't been there to help.

My FFFC is that I called my son an a-hole for the first time last night. He wouldn't stop trying to stand up while punching me in the belly button! Punk should curl up and go to sleep at 12:30 am, not try to alien-style explode out of me for an hour.

@Lafreeman21 haha baby girl loves to do acrobatics from after dinner until I'm in bed trying to go to sleep. I don't believe anything that says they sleep most of the time because she does not!

FB not deactivated, but I avoided it for all of Wednesday. Definitely helped.

Same. I really wanted to block a lot of people but I held back.

FFFC: I have no idea who half the designers are that are mentioned in the UO. But I spend a lot of money on kitchenware and cook books.

I can't quit Facebook because I love looking at the local yard sale sites... mostly for entertainment and drama.

I painted our whole mud room last weekend and will do the baby's room too. DH painted with me of course, but I just can't sit back and watch!

@Gretchypoo I helped paint our nursery too. Dh did the majority but I did trims and cut ins and I did half of the accent wall. Dh is fine with subpar work, so if I didn't help he would have gotten lazy and cut a lot of corners. I helped with dd1's nursery too and I had a healthy pregnancy.

Are you not supposed to help paint the nursery? I asked my OB and he said it was fine to paint. I mean I'm probably going to leave the high parts that require ladders to DH since my balance is a bit off and honestly he prob doesn't need a ladder but I plan on doing the majority of the painting because I love painting!

My FFFC: my husband accidentally tapped me in the belly last night and he felt SO BAD about it, and I am secretly glad it happened because I'm enjoying the hell out of teasing him with random texts like "remember when you punched the baby?"

Yeah I guess I didn't realize that I shouldn't be painting. I helped H paint the entire thing because he can't paint near the trim and ceiling to save his life. I took breaks to escape from the fumes a few times and we had the window open. Hopefully it's not too big of a deal?

I painted my daughters' room. It was a low VOC paint with 2 windows and 2 fans. It went fine.

If you are using water base/latex paint you are fine. The foundation of the paint is water. The only VOC (volatile organic compound) that is in them comes from the tint that colors the paint and it is so minuscule amounts. There should be no fumes from water base paint.
*** I used to work in the paint department of a hardware store and had to know all of this stuff
Not sure about the US but here in Canada it is really hard to find anything but latex interior paint (or exterior for that matter) in stores. Oil base/Alkyd paints are pretty much only found in paint specific shops only.

I painted the baby's room a long time ago because I know my H would not do it and I wanted it done while I still could do it myself lol

My MW said that painting is fine as long as you watch the fumes and test for lead if you're doing any removal. She even cleared me for wallpaper removal, but we got lazy and that project never happened.

My husband sometimes makes me feel guilty because I will do things like poke the baby to make him kick so my brother or whoever can feel it. My husband thinks it's not very nice and I should "leave him alone". I personally think that the little jerk pokes me all the bloody time and turn-about is fair play.

Maybe I'm not a very nice person. But I don't care.

@Gretchypoo that's how I finally got the painting done too. My husband was dragging his feet and saying "it's fine the way it is". So I brought the paint cans up and started opening them. He got all pissy and took over.

I personally think painting in a well-ventilated room is fine, but he was being super paranoid (my posts today seem to have a theme), and didn't want me to do more than the trim.

I now get to be super smug because he has begrudgingly said about 4 times that the colour I picked looks way better than before.

I poke the baby when I've been sitting still and notice he hasn't moved in a while. DH always tells me I'm being mean and to leave the baby alone but I feel better when I feel him kick me once or twice then I leave him alone. My confession is that when DH tells me to stop poking him I poke him a few more times and smile at DH or yell "I'm poking the baby" while doing it. So it's really his fault the baby gets poked a couple extra times I'd just do it once or twice to get a kick but I can't help but be obnoxious when DH tells me not to do something.

That's what I thought at first too! I was thinking, gosh that kid is an a-hole. Doesn't he know mommy has a baby in there? But then the 'alien-style explode out of me' comment cleared up my mistake!

I've called our LO a brat jokingly to DH without any shame lol. She's very stubborn! DH has yet to feel her kick. I've tried poking her and shaking my belly and she won't respond when he's trying to feel her, but she will go crazy when he's not around. Even if she's been kicking for a while and I call him over, she stops as soon as he touches my belly lol.

My FFFC is that I've done pretty much nothing productive at work today! We don't have kids and the teachers have professional development. My coworker and I are presenting to a high school class next week about our careers, and started to put the presentation together, but it's been more fun and goofing off than anything. Also, my coworker is leaving at 1:30 to ride with the football team to their playoff game (she's the kicking coach!) so I'll literally be by myself in our corner of the building until it's time to leave. Definitely playing my music out loud and "organizing" around the office! Happy Friday!

I have another one! Backstory: my SIL is throwing me a shower tomorrow. Showers and being the centre of attention aren't really my thing, but I agreed to the shower because she said she would take my input and talk to me about what I wanted, and the alternative was my MIL just calling me up one day and telling me what day she had sent the invites out for and what day I needed to travel to her town (like she did for my wedding shower)...

Today is a stat holiday, and I picked tomorrow for the shower because it gave me time before and after to regroup. Of course, my SIL decided that she would travel to my town the day before the shower and we'd "make a weekend out of it!!!" Well, last weekend I heard from her, and she wasn't able to get a sitter to show up before noon today, so she won't be here until 5 pm at the earliest, and isn't that super disappointing???

I'm sitting here in my PJs, on my second glass of tea, without a care in the world.

Soooo disappointing. You have no idea.

I am being a baby. We host our church's small group every Thursday night. I cook, we get a babysitter for everyone to use, my husband bakes fresh communion bread, its no easy feat. When people have a birthday I make their favorite meal and we have cake and ice cream. My birthday was Tuesday and no one in our group said anything. My stupid husband didn't even think to get me a cake. One of the women in our group (who actually is a former doula client) kept bringing up her son's first birthday in a few weeks. Double checking our RSVP (we RSVP'd why do you need to double check?), reminded us the theme, and then randomly "I am not doing cake, just cookies." huh? "Only A is going to get cake, everyone else gets cookies, I just wanted to warn you." Uhmm okay? I am pretty irritated, i feel like I keep getting pooped on by people I bend over backwards for.

So every time I put my wedding band on, my finger breaks out horribly into tiny red bumps and my finger will swell to the point I almost can't take it off. I have no idea why this happens but only with the wedding band, not the e ring so I've only been wearing that. Well I wasn't wearing either ring to give my finger a chance to stop swelling and itching. Someone had the nerve to ask me where my ring was and if I had hit that "crazy swelling sausage stage of pregnancy yet." When I said no and explained what happened, she was like "oh, well maybe you should try buying one that's real gold."
My confession is that I was so irrationally offended that she'd assume my rings were fake that I may or may not have tastelessly slipped how much DH spent on them.

Hopefully someone remembers and does something nice. But I'd probably say something to your H, that's hurtful that he didn't think of getting you a cake.

As far as the painting goes, I painted our entire ceiling (it was an awful bright blue that clashed with the warm hues of literally everything else inside the house). So ladders and holding the roller over my head were definitely involved. H was so mad when he came home from work, but I had the entire house ventilating with our industrial fan. That was when we had the "pregnant, not porcelain" conversation. I still want to get the kitchen done but have no energy anymore.

And as for the kicking, I'm convinced my daughter's found a floating rib on my right side that holds the same amount of fascination as those older door stops did for me as a kid.

Also, I definitely poke her a lot. And sometimes dig my fingers under my ribs to get those painful little feet to move elsewhere.

Maybe I'm just oblivious, but does that person really think "fake gold" wedding rings were that common???? I mean come on even the cheapest of rings are atleast like 10k gold. I would of let the price slip out as well in a situation like that. Some people need filters.
