Re: FFFC!!!* 11/11

  • @LivingLaVidaGinger the same thing used to happen with mine, its called wedding ring rash. It can happen just because of soaps and other stuff getting under the ring and irritating your skin. I had to also stop wearing mine for a while get my ring cleaned and then once the rash subsided I just had to take my rings off when I knew I would be handling soap or lotion or anything like that. And also keeping my rings clean all the time, now I just wear them when I leave the house and haven't had it reoccurr!

  • @LivingLaVidaGinger I'm not sure if this could be why, but I had a similar issue with my wedding band (which is an eternity band of really small diamonds) last year.  It was causing a rash and my dermatologist said it was due to buildup of soap scum or lotion or whatever that gets trapped in the grooves and to have it professionally cleaned.  I did and haven't had the issue since.  But then if this is happening on a smooth gold/platinum band I'm not sure what would be causing that.
  • Happy belated birthday @peachesnbean! I'm sorry everyone was so inconsiderate, I'd be feeling a little down about it too. Hopefully you talked about it with DH and he's planning an awesome way to make it up to you!

  • @Lafreeman21 @MissMerciBeaucoup that's probably exactly what I have. I'll have to send it off and they'll re-dip the white gold finish so that'll probably help too. And my ring isn't quite an eternity band, but it does have a bunch of small diamonds in it and it lifts off the finger a bit so it's hollow under the diamonds. It's hard to describe lol. The thought of getting soap and whatnot stuck under there sounds so gross, but makes a lot of sense! The e ring has the diamonds around the band too, but they don't show underneath. It's all smooth so that's probably why it isn't irritating me like the wedding band.

  • Happy birthday @peachesnbean you deserve all the birthdaying.

    Asm:

i had to bring my S with me to work to celebrate veterans. I let him have a Starbucks cake pop, kids hot chocolate and 2 starbursts to try to keep him occupied.
  • Happiest of Birthdays to you @peachesnbean!!

  • @LivingLaVidaGinger it also could be a developed nickel allergy!  I don't remember exactly,  but there is Nickle mixed in the white gold,  and if the plating wears off you can develop the rash.  I have had my ring more v than 10 years but didn't develop an allergy until my last pregnancy!  Every 6-12 months I have to get it dipped (they use rhodium) and its fine.
